Feb 14, 2010Can I clear my Hero's dictionary of all words that I added? People text using my phone sometimes and they abbreviate things and I like to just type full words but my phone is constantly changing things I type into stupid abbreviations unless I get the spelling 100% perfect which means I have to stop and check every word when I am trying to text fast. I can't seem to find where I would do this in my settings.

Sep 3, 2010I also posted this on the support forum, but there seems like there's more conversations regarding Exchange over here. On this forum I have gotten clarification that I don't need the "corporate email plan".I added my corporate account through Corporate Sync. It seemed to take just fine and appears to be set up. I checked the boxes that I wanted contacts and calender to sync and checked off the email one. Per an email with IT, it appears I put in the correct information. (They won't formally give support since it's a personal phone.)I hate to seem like an idiot here, but where and how does the calender and contacts sync and show up on my phone? Is there some other software needed here or some setting I need to check. How do you make the sync happen and does it load to the existing calender and contacts apps in the X?

Sep 8, 2010So is there an easy way to type the word "I'll". I have to upper case the letters then type "I", then switch to the symbols and type ', then back to the letters to type "ll". This just seems way to much for a little word. My BB Tour would recognize so much easier. If there is no easy way to type it, wonder if Froyo will fix it.

Feb 6, 2010It sucks that you can't delete words that are in the Dictionary. I get so annoyed when I am typing out a word and it puts a totally different word in place. You ever type out one of the days of the week? It ALWAYS puts a (s) at the end! For example I want to say I am having a Super bowl party on Sunday and it will put Sundays. Another thing that drives me crazy I could say "Maybe I will come over later" and it says "Maybe I Will come over later" Why does WILL have to be spelled like a name in this instance? I add lower case "will" to my dictionary but it still reverts back to the other one when I am typing.

Apr 24, 2010Ever since I updated to 2.1, my phone decides to add the capitalized versions of words such as "you" "just" "should" "we" so I'll be in the middle of a text and suddenly the first letters are capitalizing. It happens often enough to irritate me. I have tried to delete them from the dictionary several times, but they just keep coming back even if I don't use any capitalized versions at all. Is there ANY fix at all for this??

Apr 19, 2010Ever since I got 2.1 my phone started adding words to the dictionary by itself. In some cases this is helpful but as it turns out its annoying. It mainly adds capitalized versions of words. for example when I'm in the middle of a sentence it says "You" instead of "you" etc. I delete it, but it keeps coming back. Any way to permanently stop this from happening?

Feb 17, 2010I looked at my friend's droid and it doesn't do this and I don't recall my first droid (which had other problems) doing this either. Also, the green/amber light doesn't come on when I'm charging my phone. Been trying to get a replacement from verizon but all the refurbished phones they've sent me have been worse off, eg. horrible connectivity, overheating, etc.

Sep 2, 2010From my computer, I can log into my Google calendar and not only does it have my personal calendar, but it also includes the weather, US Holidays, and various sports schedules that I have chosen. On my Droid X, I was able to add the weather & US Holidays to my calendar, but not the sports schedules.
Also, I previously had a BlackBerry, and anytime I would accept Facebook events from my BlackBerry, it would automatically add it to my calendar (which was synced with my Google calendar). I don't think my Droid X has this same feature.

Sep 12, 2010I am still in the process of learning and customizing this phone so there may be a famous app that takes care of this but I did a search and found nothing. I am not a big fan of how the contact list shows friends from facebook/gmail/Phone. I only want it to show contacts that I have personally added on my phone. Is there a way I can arrange this. I have it to where it remembers phone contacts only when I hit contacts but as soon as restart, it goes right back to all contacts. It also comes up when I try to text someone or in the contact section of the dialer. I just dont like this. I don't mind that they are there, persay, but I don't want it to be default all the time. Is there a way to change this?

Aug 30, 2010I sold my htc Imago with the expectation that the guy I was buying a Droid X from would not super flake on me. Say Craig list! Anyway, I've been without a working device for a week now as I wait for my DX to arrive. I just check voice mail a couple times a day to make sure I'm not missing anything important. On the other hand, I have to imagine I have a serious back log of texts. A buddy of mine said he thought the DX (which my wife currently has) could be configured to retrieve texts from more than one account (phone number). Is that possible? Is there any other way to retrieve text messages other than with an activated device?

I know that I can press that down arrow and add a word but how can I delete some of the words that are already there.
