In case anyone is just lazy and hasn't done it yet or your a newb and don't really know what to do or wanna learn (slacker), here is the bloat free version of 2.2 de-odexed (you need to be running 2.2 to use it. I been working on/with it for a few hours now and it seems pretty stable. If nothing else, you'll have a good back up (we know you forgot to make one). Good starting point to, for trying new things.
I know you advanced guys are prolly way ahead of this, but I struggled to get to this point so if I can help someone out, well, why not also, if anyone wants to tweak it some more, we'll make it a project. The lock screen needs some help, its a lot faster but still a lil janky (not so bad after the first one though). Quadrant score on my X (non overclock) was 1477 with false stagefright; 2017 with true stage fright
ROM INFO
Just rooted and deodexed a friends droid x on 2.2. Everything works fine, but we can't download ANY files in the browser. It instantly says "download unsuccessful". No matter what it is or where its from. We've tried doing"fix permissions"in don manager, soft reboot, no results. Does anyone have ANY idea what's causing this?and this was not an issue before rooting...
View 3 Replies View Relatedthis WILL wipe your phone. Make a backup prior to doing this and of course im not responsible, blah blah blah Don't be an idiot either, you must be on Froyo 2.2 to restore an image of 2.2. So, to the question (Can I use this to update my 2.1 and have root). I've noticed that most people that CAN'T run it (MD5 error) are people that did a factory reset. What i would suggest to anyone else reading this, is if you know you have factory reset on 2.2, this probably will not work (by all means try). BUT if you WANT to run it that bad, do a data wipe, and THEN sbf. Root 2.1, update to 2.2, install koush's bootstrapper and try again. that will probably work. Credits to krayzee1 on alldroid for posting this. Mike919 we now have a clockwork recovery backup that you can recover to your phone. What does this give me? well it gives you a way to restore your phone to its default state but it has already been rooted and deodexed. If you dont know what root or deodexed are then please search around the forums.
View 49 Replies View RelatedBeen away from custom roms for a while. Is there a stock ROM to go back to if I ever needed to bring my Droid back in for service?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've read some good things about roms, i just rooted, deodexed and changed my theme to black glass...
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I just purchased an incredible (couldn't resist lol).. And now I am trying to sell my droid on ebay (if anyone is interested let me know!), but whenever I used RomManager to revert back to stock image. I get an error and it fails. I have already ported my number over to my incredible, so I can only use wifi. So what other way is there to go back to stock so I can wipe the device and sell it. Or is there some other way that I am not thinking of? Something on the phone, like stock image I can flash through clockwork recovery and be done? (if so anyone have a link?)
View 1 Replies View RelatedCan someone point me in the direction of the best way to go back to stock 2.1 on my motorola droid. Without losing all my things. Im just wanting to go back for right now.
View 18 Replies View RelatedWant to flash back to stock and update to the "official" 2.2 Can I do this in short order or is it fairly troublesome?
View 13 Replies View RelatedI am not planning on doing this, but this just popped into my head. If you have installed a custom kernal while rooted, and you want to flash back to 2.2, do you need to install the stock kernal.
View 5 Replies View RelatedFor the Droid X i want to try to use the froyo update that was leaked before however, I am worried about as to whether or not I can flash back to the stock OS. I see how to do it for other phones and know how to do it for the original droid with much help however, I do not want to do the update until I know there is a way to revert back to 2.1 Also I am using the leaked NON ROOTED 2.2 update if I get an answer on here. I do not like to root only because I am a noob.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter using rom manager to install a new theme, m wondering how i can go back to stock BBV.04 w/out the theme. How would i go about that?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to completely unroot and go back to stock.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm a beginner to this rooting stuff. I used z4root to root my D1.. and then i used Rom manager to download bugles beast v0.5 . I did this basically to test out Rom's and see if i liked the whole concept. however, i wanna get back to factory settings, as if i never rooted.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHow do I do it? I searched around and can't find anything..
View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter having upgraded to Smoked Glass, I had it on my phone for no longer than 30 minutes when I was hit with a new OTA notification.
I have already downloaded the file, and it is FRG01B again. The difference, though, is that, instead of patching a ton of files on the fly during the install, which is how the old one worked, this one simply formats System and then copies the entire contents of system from the .ZIP to your phone.
Be that as it may, it looks like I *somehow* got a notification for a full ROM update from VZW.
Again, like I said, it is FRG01B - but the good news is that this is a full ROM, and for those having issues with the previous one, which makes sure you have ESE81 (2.1) installed on your phone, this one does *not*.
Theoretically, I should be able to install this over any previous version of Android - which I am about to test right now.
Everyone is always so concerned about unrooting, removing su, removing busybox, etc., and so-forth. Well, finally an extremely simply solution. Almost too simple. Go to the Market and install SholesMod Updater. Sure it's $5, but it does it all for ya. Just install the application like any other, then open it. Select "Stock 2.0.1 (No root)" and let it do it's thing. And no one is the wiser. Hope this puts some minds at ease.
View 49 Replies View Relatedcurrently on RubiX focused. say i wanted to return back to stock like 2.3.15 deodexed or even odexed. would i reboot into recovery, clear data, cashe, system, mount then apply the zip? just want to make sure this is right so i dont brick again
View 6 Replies View RelatedHow do I get all my apps back that I had on stock froyo? And my bookmarks n such?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI went back to stock 2.01 using DM Updates (I'm lazy) and now I have two problems:
1) I'm missing the Market app
2) I'm not receiving OTA updates (says system is up to date) Anyway to keep going without wiping?
That goes without saying but it appears that it flashes the bootloader so I would hold off on doing it if you like root.It could mean that we cant flash sbfs anymore, it could mean that we get a locked down bootloader and it could mean nothing,I am getting this from looking in the file and could be completely wrong though.
View 32 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know how to get the stock wallpaper back once you have changed it?
I could never get it back when I was stock, is that possible now?
I updated to Ultimate Droid Extreme V7 and my phone worked great for a few days and is not bugging out. So I want to put my phone back to the stock ROM and get the verizon 2.2 update. How the heck do you do that?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've changed my Moto Droid to the Droid Incredible, I will miss and keep Moto Droid in my heart. (It also made me realize iPhone was just a platonic relationship). I'm selling it off to offset cost. It's already deactivated, I've been trying to use the Rom Manager to download a stock image but it keeps failing, apparently it doesn't want to use Wifi (tried in airplane mode too). Even then the version it downloads is rooted. I'd like to reset/wipe the phone down to 2.1 or 2.0.1 and a way to make sure OTA will work when it gets activated. How can I do this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed rom manager to check it out it installed clockwork recovery and now i'm trying to get back to normal recovery after removing rom manager any ideas on how to do that?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, using Skyfire, I thought I could remove the stock browser, and I ran Liquid's script to remove it. Now Skyfire doesn't work. I'm guessing I needed the stock browser. Can someone send me the browser apk and let me know where I need to install it to?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to revert from a ROM back to stock and save my apps (non-root ones of course). I have titanium backup, but once I am back to stock I won't be able to use it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWell my Droid quit charging, the only time I can get it to charge is when I hold the charger into my phone at a certain angle, same thing I gotta do when I flash sbf with rsd lite onto my Droid. I'm gonna miss this thing. But hopefully, with warranty, I'll have a brand new one in my pocket by this evening. What's funny about it is, I'm planning on getting the Droid x when it comes out. Lol, so I guess I'll have a basically brand new Droid to get rid of when the time comes. Sent from my Droid using Tapatalk
