currently on RubiX focused. say i wanted to return back to stock like 2.3.15 deodexed or even odexed. would i reboot into recovery, clear data, cashe, system, mount then apply the zip? just want to make sure this is right so i dont brick again

It's an update.zip that will deodex 2.2...I can't get it to run (just stalls out in ClockworkMod Recovery at "Installing Update"), but it appears that a few people have ran it successfully.
I am using ubuntu and i am in trouble i want to deodex my stock ics. Any ubuntu compatible utility or script to de odex my rom.

And now I am trying to sell my droid on ebay (if anyone is interested let me know!), but whenever I used RomManager to revert back to stock image. I get an error and it fails. I have already ported my number over to my incredible, so I can only use wifi. So what other way is there to go back to stock so I can wipe the device and sell it. Or is there some other way that I am not thinking of? Something on the phone, like stock image I can flash through clockwork recovery and be done? (if so anyone have a link?)

View 4 Replies View RelatedEveryone is always so concerned about unrooting, removing su, removing busybox, etc., and so-forth. Well, finally an extremely simply solution. Almost too simple. Go to the Market and install SholesMod Updater. Sure it's $5, but it does it all for ya. Just install the application like any other, then open it. Select "Stock 2.0.1 (No root)" and let it do it's thing. And no one is the wiser. Hope this puts some minds at ease.

1) I'm missing the Market app
2) I'm not receiving OTA updates (says system is up to date) Anyway to keep going without wiping?
That goes without saying but it appears that it flashes the bootloader so I would hold off on doing it if you like root.It could mean that we cant flash sbfs anymore, it could mean that we get a locked down bootloader and it could mean nothing,I am getting this from looking in the file and could be completely wrong though.

View 49 Replies View RelatedI've changed my Moto Droid to the Droid Incredible, I will miss and keep Moto Droid in my heart. (It also made me realize iPhone was just a platonic relationship). I'm selling it off to offset cost. It's already deactivated, I've been trying to use the Rom Manager to download a stock image but it keeps failing, apparently it doesn't want to use Wifi (tried in airplane mode too). Even then the version it downloads is rooted. I'd like to reset/wipe the phone down to 2.1 or 2.0.1 and a way to make sure OTA will work when it gets activated. How can I do this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWell my Droid quit charging, the only time I can get it to charge is when I hold the charger into my phone at a certain angle, same thing I gotta do when I flash sbf with rsd lite onto my Droid. I'm gonna miss this thing. But hopefully, with warranty, I'll have a brand new one in my pocket by this evening. What's funny about it is, I'm planning on getting the Droid x when it comes out. View 21 Replies View RelatedI am on the Froyo OTA and I rooted my phone (can't find the thread I used for that). I then started with titanium backup, got that bootstrapper and did a full backup and then tried to deodex my phone from this link (xUltimate). I kept getting errors on one of the steps and ran their little utility called Test.exe and it said my phone was already deodexed. So I thought maybe that happened when I rooted the phone. I then went to try install a theme that I liked, but I got an error so I had to recover. So I tried another one that was supposed to just make the top bar dark, had to recover. I then installed this one and it worked thought the text on the bar is not white and in the thread someone else had the same issue and was told that their phone is not deodex'd. So I guess my basic question is how can I tell if I am or not?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have about 300 hours of reading in and I am still sitting with a Droid X, 2.2 OTA and no root. I know how to root with rootmyx2 1-click method, not an issue. Was rooted before 2.2 and didn't want any leaked versions.
I have every tool that I would ever need. Root Explorer, Titanium BU, ROM Manager and Droid X Recovery Bootstrap.
But I can't get a straight answer for what ROM's I can install with the 2.2 OTA and which ones deodex for me. I know the 928DroidBlackGlassX-DroidX-OTA2315-DeOdexEERR-THEME will deodex for you but from what I read you have to have a ROM first. So confused.
I read FlyX has been put on the 2.2 w/out deodex and others say you need it first.
I'm just looking for the easiest step-by-step instructions to get set up for themes on a DX 2.2 Official 2.2 OTA.
I've successfully done most of the steps to manually deodex. However, when I get to the last step, it says Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7600] Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
