Motorola Droid X :: Update Swype To Latest Beta
Sep 12, 2010How do I update swype to the latest beta? It says I need to remove the current version first but since it is included in the X, how do I do this? Do I just rename or delete the apk with root explorer?

Jun 16, 2010I'm trying to get this latest swype beta since i've never used swype before. I've got my email and when I click the link it says that I'm not running on an android phone... Could this be an issue with 2.1v3. I noticed another poster had the same issue and he's also on the leak. Is anyone else having the same problem or am I just SOL?

Dec 24, 2013One of the reasons I use Swype is that it the keyboard includes a comma, which is a character I use ALL THE TIME. The latest update replaces the comma with a "speak now" button, which I would almost never use (I often type emails on the train, for instance, or when the family is watching TV, speaking to my phone is not an option). I tried unchecking the "show voice key" box in settings, and rebooted the gadget, but there is still an awkwardly placed microphone icon and no comma.
Is there anything I can do to fix this? Is there a way to undo the "update"? I feel completely crippled -- I had to go to a real computer to type this email, since it was too frustrating to try to do it on the phone.
Android :: How To Upgrade Latest Version / Swype Stopped Working?
Sep 3, 2010When I installed the latest version of Android on my Droid, my Swype stopped working (again!). When I re-installed it now it says I have to upgrade Swype as the trail is over. I looked on their web site, butI don't see any way of upgrading. Is there a way around the need to upgrade or how do I get the upgrade?

Apr 23, 2010I need some help here if you can. I was running the latest cyanogen rom and it was running pretty smooth. Then I tried to change the theme without flashing clockwork!! ( duh, I forgot!!! )now I'm stuck on the moto logo!! I tried wiping the whole phone, factory reset, my backups , battery pull, and its still stuck on the moto logo. I got my phone to boot up now! I was just getting a lil frustrated, thats all. I think the phone needed to take a lil break too!

Just saw this on Engadget: Corning's darn-near-impenetrable Gorilla glass certainly isn't new -- in fact, we spied it in a few of Motion Computing's tablets just a few months ago -- but it's still not commonplace on mainstream gizmos. Yet. SmartPlanet sat down with Dr. Donnell Walton, senior applications engineer at Corning, in order to discuss the merits of the display technology as well as its importance in the gadget space. The discussion also mentioned that both Motorola's Droid and Dell's Adamo (not to mention Cowon's S9 PMP) are sporting the glass, which acts to make displays "damage-resistant." Not surprisingly, the company is seeing huge demand in the smartphone arena, where touchscreen-centric phones are being shoved into pockets at random and then costing manufacturers big bucks as return rates creep up. It's a pretty interesting read if you're into that type of thing, and yes, we did just give you permission to try and split your Droid display wide open in a moment of frustration. Just don't count on Motorola to accept that as a valid excuse for your RMA.

Apr 24, 2010I would like to try cyanogen's latest build (although still not sure which one that is) but after trying to google everything I need answers to I am just getting more confused so I thought someone here could help.
I only have used sprecovery so this whole clockwork recovery is confusing. Says I need it but if I don't like cyanogens how hard is it to revert back to my adamz smoked glass that i have now with sprecovery? Don't even want to try and tackle the titanium backup thing.
Does Cyanogens come with busybox? Will I still have wifi tether and a kernel that supports it? What is this thing about having to install google apps in some special way as i read they are left out?
What I am looking for is all the cyanogen goodness (the ability to flip the phone and have screen rotate 180 degrees)with a smoked glass theme, stock theme or green theme, wifi tether(a must), moving wallpaper,overclocking and the ability to load my custom boot animations.
I like my Adamz smoked glass rom a lot but want to be able to rotate the phone and have the screen change. I have everything listed above except phone rotation now.
I have not had a single problem running Adamz rom or any issues with sprecovery. I can use these with ease so I am hoping someone can point me to an easy guide to make the change and answer a few of these questions.

Does anyone have factual information on the release of Adobe Flash, for if they truly are waiting for an upgrade, then we can be waiting for a long time.
