I've just downloaded the latest update to my phone and I'm now unable to download any apps. I can select the app to download but when i select it the phone says 'starting download' and doesn't actually download anything.

Ive tried over 20 times to do it Ive even tried another comp. Ive used pc companion also software updater both fail they freeze my comp when i try to update can i get the software update either on a disc or downloaded instead of Internet.

Hooked phone to PC companion and was informed an update was available. Followed through the update process and when the phone was disconnected and powered on as instructed I was still left with 1.6. Now when I connect to PC companion I am informed software is up to date with 1.6.

I've just tried to update my X10 to the new 2.1 firmware, with absolutely no luck.I get through all the stages, everything works fine, no errors reported, everything reset on the phone, all looked great.But, when I check the version its' still at 1.6. And every time i connect it to the PC after the upgrade, it tells me there's an update available, just to go through the same thing again, and still leave me with 1.6.
Any ideas?I tried uninstalling and reinstalling PC Companion.No change. I'm on Orange UK, and the update only became available to me today.

i got the update notification for xperia x10 few days back, i quickily connected it to pc using pc companion and took the backup, then i started the update process, it reached till prepared, and after that it started initialization, but here the problem started. it was showing the initialization for 4 hours,i thought may be it hanged so i stopped it and disconnected the phone and restarted the update process, same thing happened this time. the progress bar doesnt show any progress after initialization, it showed 100% in initialization after some 4 hours but after tht nothing happened.i dont knw the problem, it can't be network problem, as i have a 1mbps connection and i checked the speed also before starting the update,i kept the update process as it is for 10 hours, but it still didnt show any progress from the last time.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having an issue where my phone connects fine to my home internet Via a new N-Router, then while using the phone and going through different apps like facebook or android market. I get errors about unable to fetch updates or unable to update page. All the while the WiFi icon is still on in the status bar. It seems that when I turn off the WiFi then back on or power the phone off then back on it work again for a short while. I don't have issues with my laptop or WiFi that use this same router.

When I first got the phone, I managed to download a couple of apps without problems but now I can't. Everything gets stuck on 'starting download' whatever I do. I'm trying it on a wireless network as it's rare I can get 3GS up.
