View 3 Replies View RelatedIt seems that after the latest Google Voice update a few days ago I am having some small annoying issues with GV on my Droid.
First, when I am sending a SMS message using the landscape on-screen keyboard I get a force kill.
Also, it seems that some of my outgoing messages are sent twice.
There is a new update available as of today 12/7/09. It says on eof the new features is reporting a problem with listings etc but I can't figure out how to do this.
View 4 Replies View RelatedPicked up a Milestone today, firmware is 2.1 update 1, build number shols_u2_02.31.0. I just wanna check I've got an official firmware version on board and not a rooted version, so I can get the official updates when released. Anyone know how to check the details?
View 4 Replies View RelatedHas anyone had any issue with the latest Voice update? Until now, the application had been running flawlessly. After this most recent update, its very sluggish and laggy
View 5 Replies View RelatedI received the latest update a couple of days ago. I am like many on the forum that was having issues and growing very tired of this phone.
Issues I was having:
1- Blank display during a call. I have been having the issue of the phone display going blank during a call. The way it's designed to work is that when you place the phone next to your ear the display turns off to 1- save battery and 2- reduce heat. Mine was staying off which made it impossible to traverse a voice response system.
2- Lag during dialing.
3- Time without a signal. ** Retracted - This issue still exists. After rebooting multiple times the issue is back.
Fix - Reset to factory defaults. So far so good. Best the phone has been since updating from 1.5.
Never rooted- Stock versions
fw - 2.1
baseband - 2.42.01.04.27
kernel - 2.6.29-8a03cb9a, htc-kernel@and18-2 #1
build- 2.37.605.4 CL 185970 release-keys
software- 2.37.605.4
browser- WebKit 3.1
PRI - 2.11_002
If anyone gets the update as a test user, post the update.zip here in a mediafire, etc., link. Hit install later and save to SD card, then mount the phone to the computer and move to your computer then upload to a file hosting site of choice. We wont have to wait for it to "roll out" by this method. Once downloaded from said link, and saved to your computer, move to root of SD card, boot into recovery and install update.zip.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI remember there used to be a thread on the website that showed you only having to use an update.zip file to root the stock 2.1. Does anybody know where the thread is or how to do it?
View 3 Replies View RelatedCouldn't find this info...where are OTA files stored on the phone/SD card when they are downloaded? I have D2 and we may be expecting an update, and I'd like to be able to grab the file after the download. I know I'm in the D1 forum but I expect the storage location is the same, and all the smart people are still over here.

Just wondering if the latest update for Set CPU broke anyone's phone and required a n android backup to be performed? I got the update last night and the phone started running really hot. This morning, no matter what kernel I installed it wouldn't go any higher than 528mhz. But the temp was at 90-110F just sitting there. I un installed...did battery pull...rebooted and re-installed with the same results. Only way to get the phone over clocked again was to revert to the backup I did before doing the upgrade. Not sure if I had something weird happening, or if others have seen a problem with the latest update.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs it just me or does the double tap zoom on the browser work better since the FPS update? Before, mine didn't zoom in very close when I double tapped and the text would still be too small. Now when I double tap it's about the perfect size. Anyone else notice this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an Evo with the latest updated Qik for Evo on my phone; however, it just doesn't seem to work as advertised. I am currently running it on WiFi to get a faster connection, but when I try to stream live, the shortest delay I can get is about 30 seconds. Worse than that, when I try to watch the feed, it just constantly tries to buffer and it is almost impossible to watch. I've tried it about once a week for the past month, but the same thing keeps happening.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI need some help here if you can. I was running the latest cyanogen rom and it was running pretty smooth. Then I tried to change the theme without flashing clockwork!! ( duh, I forgot!!! )now I'm stuck on the moto logo!! I tried wiping the whole phone, factory reset, my backups , battery pull, and its still stuck on the moto logo. I got my phone to boot up now! I was just getting a lil frustrated, thats all. I think the phone needed to take a lil break too!

View 12 Replies View RelatedThere has been a lot of discussion about screen protectors - which I have read with interest. Just saw this on Engadget: Corning's darn-near-impenetrable Gorilla glass certainly isn't new -- in fact, we spied it in a few of Motion Computing's tablets just a few months ago -- but it's still not commonplace on mainstream gizmos. Yet. SmartPlanet sat down with Dr. Donnell Walton, senior applications engineer at Corning, in order to discuss the merits of the display technology as well as its importance in the gadget space. The discussion also mentioned that both Motorola's Droid and Dell's Adamo (not to mention Cowon's S9 PMP) are sporting the glass, which acts to make displays "damage-resistant." Not surprisingly, the company is seeing huge demand in the smartphone arena, where touchscreen-centric phones are being shoved into pockets at random and then costing manufacturers big bucks as return rates creep up. It's a pretty interesting read if you're into that type of thing, and yes, we did just give you permission to try and split your Droid display wide open in a moment of frustration. Just don't count on Motorola to accept that as a valid excuse for your RMA.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhat is the latest ROM pete has put out? Has he done a BB for the froyo if so a link? Did some searching last night all (I think) I am finding are the OTA ROMs that have come out that he has rooted. Is that all there is, been sitting on 2.1 and decided to make the jump.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI did the ran the EVO update this morning and tried Pandora immediately after and the sound quality is much better on the "normal" setting.Seems to be back to pre-froyo update before it got @#$@ up.Is anyone else seeing this after running the update.
View 32 Replies View RelatedOkay so I rooted a few months ago, and installed a baked FroYo ROM from MoDaCo. However I want to update it to a later version. My question is this:
Since I've already rooted, and can use Hboot, can I simply copy the new zipped ROM to my SD Card, and install it through Hboot, or do I have to do through the whole rooting path again?
Can I still run the Un revoked without loosing the FPS update we just received last week? Is there a downside to using UnRevoked vs some other form of root? Can I still remove bloatware, etc?
View 1 Replies View RelatedCan anyone give me a link to the area where the latest download for the latest firmware is please?I've seen various sites, but I'm not certain which is the latest.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI am new here and I really need a hand on my phone. I'd like to update it to the latest android 4.0 (ICS). How would i do it? Can you share with me the steps on how to? Below is my phone software information:
Android: 2.3.3
Build Number: 2.42.707.3 CL104011 release-keys
Software Number: 2.42.707.3
I would like to try cyanogen's latest build (although still not sure which one that is) but after trying to google everything I need answers to I am just getting more confused so I thought someone here could help.
I only have used sprecovery so this whole clockwork recovery is confusing. Says I need it but if I don't like cyanogens how hard is it to revert back to my adamz smoked glass that i have now with sprecovery? Don't even want to try and tackle the titanium backup thing.
Does Cyanogens come with busybox? Will I still have wifi tether and a kernel that supports it? What is this thing about having to install google apps in some special way as i read they are left out?
What I am looking for is all the cyanogen goodness (the ability to flip the phone and have screen rotate 180 degrees)with a smoked glass theme, stock theme or green theme, wifi tether(a must), moving wallpaper, overclocking and the ability to load my custom boot animations.
I like my Adamz smoked glass rom a lot but want to be able to rotate the phone and have the screen change. I have everything listed above except phone rotation now.
I have not had a single problem running Adamz rom or any issues with sprecovery. I can use these with ease so I am hoping someone can point me to an easy guide to make the change and answer a few of these questions.
