View 10 RepliesI am looking for a way to replace the Eris dialer for the GV dialer. When you first make a call with GV selected it pulls up the GV dialer google_voice_android_1.jpg.Then it switches the the Eris dialer.Does anyone know if/how the GV dialer could be used instead of the Eris'?I really like the look of the GV dialer much better than that of the Eris.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe lack of BT voice dial is really annoying, I was looking for a solution and found, maybe, this. It doesn't look perfect (still have to activate through phone, not BT)...has anyone tried it?Might be worth $4 if it works since I don't see when real VD is going to be added to Android.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have just gotten this phone and am very aggravated by the Voice Dialer. I use a blutooth headset, and use that because I work outside and my hands are usually sweaty or wet. The issue is that it's awful. It hardly ever hears me correctly, and without any warning it calls the wrong person! Very annoying at 7 in the morning, or 10 at night when you start dialing random people.I tried a different method, saying "open contacts" and it still dials random people. The Google Voice App understands me perfectly when I use it for texting or email. Why can't this Voice Dialer? Is there a way to replace the Voice Dialer with something better?Or is there a way to force it to confirm who I want to call?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI use a bluetooth, and people typically can hear me quite well, but not the voice dialer. I am wondering if there is a way to get the voice dialer to prompt you to choose the contact instead of dialing directly. It's annoying when I say "Dial People's Gas" and it calls "Cheryl" I guess I am looking for the good ole voice promts that ask you "Call People's?" and you say yes or no.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there anyway to switch the Voice Dialer application with the Voice Search application? I want to be able to activate Voice Search with a bluetooth headset, instead of Voice Dialer (so I can use navigation, google search, and all that jazz...handsfree).
View 11 Replies View Relatedi have a google voice number and i installed google voice on my droid with android 2.2 but it dosnt do what I want it to do.I want a dialer that is only used to make calls from my google voice number. I know you can setup google voice to:
-to make all calls from GV
-to make only international calls from GV
-make no calls from GV
-ask if you want to use GV (before every call)
I dont want any of these. I want my normal dialer to use my normal number and whenever I want to make a call from GV I want to click on an APP and have a dialer appear and any calls from that dialer are made with the GV number.my BB worked this way. I would click on GV and then start dialing and it made the call with GV.
I found some hidden programs for Moto Droid. Open Voice Dialer (Not Voice Search) and say
1. Open APN
opens APN settings
2. Open SIM Card Lock
opens sim card lock settings.
3. Open Battery Info
opens detail battery information
I can not seem to get Google Voice and Dialer One to work together. I currently have my Google Voice settings to *always* use Google Voice, however when I call someone my actual number shows up. If you are unfamiliar with Google Voice, the Google Voice number should show up. This problems seems to be limited to my ROM which has the HTC dialer replaced by Dialer One.
View 5 Replies View RelatedCalling someone using the dialer keypad will never route over Google Voice. Calling someone from the "People" application works fine. Of course I have GV enabled for all calls. Is this the way it is or is something messed up?
View 3 Replies View Relatedhow google voice application is taking control of the default phone native dialer? Is it using the public android API? I saw how google voice display a bubble at top and mask the dialed out number in the native dialer. We need to do something like this in our application but I can't find nothing about how to do it. Please google guys give me a tip about if it's native code or public api.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI don't like the sense screen that comes up when you make calls, and I have google voice installed. How do I make sure that the google voice screen, pictured below, sticks instead of having it switch to the sense call screen. Also, can I theme the google voice app? I'm not a fan of the colors.
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy wife and I both have Hero's and after the recent updates our phone takes forever to dial a number. It was bad before going to 2.1 but now it's terrible. It takes about 10 to 15 seconds to actually dial out. Any suggestions? We both have Google Voice but it dials slow regardless if we're using Google Voice or the standard dialer.
View 49 Replies View RelatedI changed the voice mail number from *86 (version default) to my Google voice number. This works when I am not answering the phone and I the caller gets connected to my GV account. But when my phone is not in coverage the caller gets my version voice mail. Appreciate if someone can correct my settings or suggest any app that does it. I am from Windows mobile world and missing those settings when you can define several settings for voice mail (unanswered, rejected, unavailable etc...)

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo my wife bought me a bluetooth headset (we have a hands free law starting in Ontario next month) and I finally got around to trying the default "Voice Dialer" app. Please correct me if I am wrong, but it seems like this isn't really a voice dialer. The app is _called_ voice dialer, but you can actually use it to search your phone for _anything_.When I try to use it to call someone, I say "Call Patricia". It pops up a box that asks if i want to call her work number or mobile number. At this point there doesn't seem to be any way to choose an option by _voice_, instead you have to actually press one of the options on screen.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm running Cyanogenmod 6. I just noticed that I can't find Google voice or Google maps in the market. I do have the apps installed, but can't see them int he market to get updates. I tried out LFY1.7 and Ultimate Droid 1.0.0, and see the same issue.
View 5 Replies View RelatedOK I see there are a few threads on this so called "voice dialer".However, if you're driving along and activate voice dialer (which is simple enough, no problem there) what's the point of having to say "Call Robert Smith" and then have to look at the screen, see if it's got the correct name and touch it to make the call?Doesn't this defeat the purpose of voice activated dialing? My older Motorola Krave had a real touch free voice dialer that responded to you and asked if it's choice was correct at which point you could say "yes" and it would dial it.Now we have the latest greatest Androids that can't do that.Whoever developed this app had no clue about the dysfunction and potential hazards involved with this "feature".I love my Eris but was completely disappointed with this app.
View 10 Replies View RelatedWhy do I always find them running in the background when I don't even use them. I use advanced task killer and I swear I have to close both of these at lease 6+ times a day. How do I stop my Eris from running these?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've searched the forums but haven't found a fix for this yet. I like to call people on my way home from work. I used to tap my bluetooth, have my phone in my purse and say 'Call Bob Mobile' and woosh - it calls Bob on his mobile. I've tried the voice dialer that came with the phone and it can't understand a work I say even when I'm holding it right next to me. It's driving me nuts. Are there any apps that will make my bluetooth call Bob when I tap it?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIv had my Eris for about a month now and love it.It's easily the best phone I've had (my previous were all dumb phones). However, this is the frist phone I have had where the voice recognition actually works. Google voice search is incredible. The wierd thing is though, my voice dialer doesnt work AT ALL. I thought it was maybe becuase I was running ATM, but I stopped like 2 weeks ago and it still isn't working. I mean it wont recognize anything- not even redial or open calendar.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am in the process of purchasing my first android phone. I currently have a google voice number/account. I would like MMS and simple number support for messaging. From my understanding google voice does not support that. I did read about an application called iTim for the iphone which allows you to use MMS through google voice. Is there any such product for the Android? Having SMS/texting through google voice would save $30/month on my cell phone bill, so it's kind of a big deal.
