When I synced my google calendar/imported the outlook calendar, the 'recurring' appts when individually and so I need to start all over again! UGH. I tried to remove my gmail acct and it said that I have to do a factory reset. So, how do I do this. I am so frustrated. I am a busy/working mom and my calendar keeps me up todate on appointments.

I've taken the steps to undo the changes from my rooting. What's the best way to check if I've unrooted? I also want to do a factory reset. The only reason I'm hesistant to go with the factory reset is because after rooting the phone, I've uninstalled Blockbuster and AmazonMP3. Those were the only apps that I removed. I have since reinstalled those apks and verify that those are in system/app.

To all that have received the 1.6 update I want to make a note that if you ever do a Master Reset the touch screen WILL NOT work until you either pull the battery or power down and power this POS back on. Maybe it's my phone I won't know until I receive a replacement due to the fact that the camera firmware gives me an error.

Here is the process as I keep reading in threads on peeps asking how to do it, maybe a Mod can sticky this for all to view when needed A master reset restores the original factory settings and will erase all downloaded content, including ringtones, contacts stored in the handset memory, etc. It does not erase data stored on the SIM card or memory card (if available). Back up all necessary data on the device memory before proceeding.
Menu Path Method:
1. From the Home screen, press the Menu Button and select Settings.
2. Select Security.
3. Select Factory data reset.
4. Select Reset phone.
5. Select Erase everything.
6. The device will dump all of the data and reload.
Key Stroke Method
1. Power the device OFF.
2. Press and hold the HOME and Back Arrow buttons. While holding these buttons, press the End Call button once.Release the Home and Back Arrow buttons and press the Trackball to execute the Hard Reset.
3. The device will reboot once the process is complete.

I'm successfully getting these poll results to the eyes of Samsung support, in order to disprove assumptions they are having about the effectiveness of their "fixes". This poll assumes you are/were experiencing GPS issues. If you are not, there's no reason to vote.

Okay so I know about the regular master reset process through the phone, and I also know about the master reset through the PC Companion. I have locked myself out of the phone with the pattern lock, and when it asks for the Google account it will not accept my username and password. I have reset the password through Google and still nothing. I tried to perform the master reset through PC Companion but when I get to the update screen it says internet connection failed. I have called the internet provider and they could not fix the issue. I just don't feel like having to send the phone off to SE because I really don't trust it at all. If anyone knows an alternate method of performing a master reset on the SE Xperia X10a please let me know.

I am currently running a rooted Samsung Captivate. I have not flashed it or anything and am still running 2.1 with the firmware update (JH7). I rooted to get rid of AT&Ts bloatware which I did using System App remover. With Froyo on the way, I was wondering if a master reset would turn it back to stock (minus AT&T bloatware) and enable OTA updates again?

I called up service just now and looks like I have a dead pixel that a battery pull didn't make go away. I am annoyed now because I will have to do what they called a master wipe or something and all the customizing I have done will be gone. I don't even know what I am doing but I will just go to the store by work to have them walk me through it.Is there anything I need to know about a master wipe and keeping all my stuff intact?
Is there something that wrapsol will do now that my nicely protected and wrapped phone is going back to the verizon God's?I also told them about the 2 times in the last week the phone went to sleep/blacked the screen while scrolling through the home pages without hitting a button or anything and they said neither the pixel or the phone going blank are known issues

I bought an Inc on Friday and I love it, best phone I've ever owned. Although my Eris, being my first android, will always hold a place in my heart, lol. My question to the brilliant minds here, If I factory reset and wipe data will it unroot my Eris? I'm selling my Eris tomorrow and advertised it as rooted. I just want to make sure it will still be rooted once I reset/wipe to remove all my info, contacts, etc. P.S. Wanted to thank all the wonderful users in here who have helped me understand and love the android OS. Scary Alien, Erisuer1, Frisco, Dooglad, and everyone else who I haven't mentioned. You're all class acts and I wouldn't know half of what I know if it wasn't for ALL of you

I bought a mytouch yesterday off craigslist, the kid said he had someone root it for him on 2.2 Before he gave it to me, he did a factory data reset to erase all his contacts, messages, info, etc. He gave it back to me and I had to set up the phone all over again (make a google account), so when I had that setup, I went to look up the phone info and saw that the firmware version was now 1.6. Could this have caused it to unroot?

I've used DMudpater before to unroot with no problems. I just did it a few minutes ago and I'm able to get past the M logo and the Eye. However, once the phone starts to load up, I get nothing but a rapid succession of FC's for every app on my phone. After the FCs, my screen is COMPLETELY BLACK except for the status bar, which shows a date of December 31, 1969 and shows a time of 7:05PM (it's actually 4:15PM where I'm at). There's no service in the status bar.

I changed all the apps back from bak to apk. I then moved bin to xbin and for some reason forgot to unroot. I then downloaded the 2.2 OTA and now phone is stuck on the M Logo. From my understanding I can't flash so now what to do? BTW I'm using the Terminal Emulator for rooting not ADB.

No immediate plans to but does anyone know how to? I assume delete superuser.apk su and busybox. Was there an original version of su that got overwritten? The only other dx we have that isn't rooted is a hundred miles away but i could try to fish su out of it and check the attributes on it. Anyone ponder this yet? May not be necessaryto do as froyo may wipe anyway. Then again birdman says 2.2 is patched and our 2.1 exploit doesn't work. Meaning an ota from vzw will lock us out.

I would love to unroot using the RSD Lite tool and USB, but the reason I'm sending my phone back (the reason for unrooting) is that the USB port is broken. So, is there a way to unroot without connecting the phone to a PC using USB? Can I copy files to the SD card and unroot from the SD card?

I rooted my phone by following All-One-Guide to Rooting, Deodexing, and Installing a Custom ROM/Theme (And How to Unbrick Droid X) and I downloaded rubix. but I cannot proceed from here. I am not using any extra apps that i could not use, nor the wonderful homepages. How can i set the HomePages look like others'? My look just like the unrooted phone. I wanna have huge clock, but i cannot find any of them after i rooted my phone.
So can anyone let me know how to find those widgets(themes?) or how to unroot my phone?

I've looked all over this forum, but can't find instructions on unrooting my phone. As a secondary question, does anyone know if rooting the phone invalidates the warranty on the hardware? I'm having a lot of issues with the back key and want to return the phone tomorrow.

I'm pretty new when it comes to rooting and whatnot, but I gave it a shot. It worked well. I currently have Cyanogen 5.0.5 on my phone and I love it! I heard that the OTA 2.1 is finally out, and I wanted to unroot and try it to compare against my ROM. I have read of ways to do this, but I think my situation is a little more unique. I attempted to revert back to stock via ROM Manager. I must have done the wrong thing, so I ended up just reinstalling the update.zip file from my SD Card. I resigned into Google and it was just like the first time I rooted. I re-downloaded ROM Manager and when I try to "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery", I get the error message: "An error occurred while attempting to run privileged commands." The "reboot into recovery" also does not work. I can still hold "X" and power on, but I just get the clockwork recovery menu, and end up nowhere but back to Cyanogen. I love Cyan and will probably stick with it, but nothing as far as root apps work anymore. DM also doesn't work for me anymore. When I enter recovery mode, it gives me the option to boot from update.zip, or factory reset. Would factory reset mess everything up? Any help/ideas?

I have a Droid with CM6 currently. I am thinking of giving the phone to my wife and getting a Droid X (unless someone here knows of a better phone). If I do this, I think it would be best for her to have an unrooted Stock Droid. I did this before with a Droid I had to send in:
Unroot from Bugless .4 to Stock 2.1
But is there a 2.2 SBF to install? Or do I need to install 2.1 then wait for the update?

I have used RSD Lite before to re-root my phone after applying 2.1 so I am comfortable using it again. I was just wondering if there is an easier way to unroot my phone. I know all of you are saying why unroot? Well I really don't utilize the root at all anymore. I originally did it to change the status bar to black (this is prolly the only thing that I will miss), to be able to downloas Led Hack (I recently uninstalled it and it appears that the leds turn off now in 2.2, I dunno if that was fixed in 2.1), and for wireless and wired tether (pdanet works without rooting and I have never once used the wireless tether other than to they and see if it works. It seems that I have had more problems with rooting then when my phone was unrooted.
Yea my phone is faster now bc of OC but unrooted it wasn't that slow anyway and I don't know if anyone else is having this problem but I get email notifications all the time even when I do not have a new email and it is really bothering me. So after that rant I was just wondering if there was an easier way to unroot. I tried downloading the rom from rom manager verizon 2.0.1 stock without root odexed and it gave me some error when installing. So if I have to use RSD Lite I will I was jsut wondering if there was an easier way. Also since I will not be rooted anymore is there any other program out there that saves data other than TiBu? I take it I will not be able to restore data with TiBu being unrooted. Don't know if this matters with RSD Lite but right now I am on BB 0.4 using chevy 1g kernal with the most updated baseband of .01P
