Motorola Droid :: How Do I Do A Master Reset?

Oct 15, 2010

When I synced my google calendar/imported the outlook calendar, the 'recurring' appts when individually and so I need to start all over again! UGH. I tried to remove my gmail acct and it said that I have to do a factory reset. So, how do I do this. I am so frustrated. I am a busy/working mom and my calendar keeps me up todate on appointments.

Samsung Behold 2 :: 1.6 Master Reset

Jul 1, 2010

To all that have received the 1.6 update I want to make a note that if you ever do a Master Reset the touch screen WILL NOT work until you either pull the battery or power down and power this POS back on. Maybe it's my phone I won't know until I receive a replacement due to the fact that the camera firmware gives me an error.

Sprint HTC Hero :: How To Do Master Reset?

Jun 23, 2010

Here is the process as I keep reading in threads on peeps asking how to do it, maybe a Mod can sticky this for all to view when needed A master reset restores the original factory settings and will erase all downloaded content, including ringtones, contacts stored in the handset memory, etc. It does not erase data stored on the SIM card or memory card (if available). Back up all necessary data on the device memory before proceeding.
Menu Path Method:

1. From the Home screen, press the Menu Button and select Settings.
2. Select Security.
3. Select Factory data reset.
4. Select Reset phone.
5. Select Erase everything.
6. The device will dump all of the data and reload.
Key Stroke Method

1. Power the device OFF.
2. Press and hold the HOME and Back Arrow buttons. While holding these buttons, press the End Call button once.Release the Home and Back Arrow buttons and press the Trackball to execute the Hard Reset.
3. The device will reboot once the process is complete.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Alt Master Reset?

Oct 12, 2010

Okay so I know about the regular master reset process through the phone, and I also know about the master reset through the PC Companion. I have locked myself out of the phone with the pattern lock, and when it asks for the Google account it will not accept my username and password. I have reset the password through Google and still nothing. I tried to perform the master reset through PC Companion but when I get to the update screen it says internet connection failed. I have called the internet provider and they could not fix the issue. I just don't feel like having to send the phone off to SE because I really don't trust it at all. If anyone knows an alternate method of performing a master reset on the SE Xperia X10a please let me know.

Samsung Captivate :: Master Reset Clear Root To Allow OTA Updates?

Oct 3, 2010

I am currently running a rooted Samsung Captivate. I have not flashed it or anything and am still running 2.1 with the firmware update (JH7). I rooted to get rid of AT&Ts bloatware which I did using System App remover. With Froyo on the way, I was wondering if a master reset would turn it back to stock (minus AT&T bloatware) and enable OTA updates again?

Motorola Droid X :: Dead Pixel But Already Put Wrapsol On Now Need To Do Master Wipe

Aug 7, 2010

I called up service just now and looks like I have a dead pixel that a battery pull didn't make go away. I am annoyed now because I will have to do what they called a master wipe or something and all the customizing I have done will be gone. I don't even know what I am doing but I will just go to the store by work to have them walk me through it.Is there anything I need to know about a master wipe and keeping all my stuff intact?
Is there something that wrapsol will do now that my nicely protected and wrapped phone is going back to the verizon God's?I also told them about the 2 times in the last week the phone went to sleep/blacked the screen while scrolling through the home pages without hitting a button or anything and they said neither the pixel or the phone going blank are known issues

Motorola Droid :: No 3G After Factory Reset

Aug 8, 2010

I know there was a bulletin on not to do it if you had 2.1, but I was rooted using SS4.6. I had switched ROMs, between about three of them the past week, and didn't do a full wipe, just to be safe. But the phone was starting to get real slow, regardless of the ROM, so I just did a factory reset using Clockwork Recovery and now I don't seem to be getting 3G anymore. I can still get data, just at 1X. It'll say "3G" when idle, but once I'm browsing, it bumps down to 1X again. This couldn't possibly be what was suggested not to do for 2.1 owners, was it? Despite being on 2.2?

Motorola Droid X :: Ringtones Getting Reset / Way To Fix?

Aug 23, 2010

Having a problem with Ringtones I've created in RingDroid getting reset. For example I made two ringtones for alarms and incoming calls in ringdroid, then set the phone up to use them. The problem comes when I reboot the phone. The phone ringtone and alarm ringtone both say "unknown ringtone" after that. I'm assuming this is because the ringtones are on the sdcard and that isn't mounted until the phone is already booted up.

Motorola Droid X : Way To Reset Swype?

Oct 6, 2010

So i posted this thread about Swype accuracy diminishing, Swype accuracy diminishing and took the advice posted by others. Now that I've changed my screen protector, and adjust my settings, im still getting wrong words all the time. It pretty much defeats the purpose (for me) of using swype, which was speed. I have to proof read every sentence and find at least one word that is completely wrong. My most recent instance it used "lsat" for last. I dont know what an lsat is, but i know its not a word ive used intentionally before, and added it to swype's "vocabulary". I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling Handcent. But that uses the same ole swype. I want it to start over, forget every word it thinks i use. Somewhere over the way (during the last 2-3 weeks) it got this idea that i make up new words every sentence.

Motorola Droid :: Way To Reset OS To Factory Default?

Nov 19, 2009

So I installed PandaBeta for the Droid, and although it was cool, I uninstalled it because it was lacking the features I really wanted (it is in beta after all). After I uninstalled it, my phone has been acting semi goofy, and I noticed there are some new things that show up in Taskiller that weren't there before:
1.) Google Partner Setup (I don't even know what this is)
2.) com.google.android.apps.maps:FriendService
3.) Bluetooth Share (I never use bluetooth)
4.) com.weather.Weather:gadgetPrivateProcess
5.) Voice Dialer
6.) com.Twidroid:remote
Now I don't know if those are supposed to be there, but if they are supposed to be there, they were never there UNTIL I installed PandaBeta. My big issue though is I have noticed my phone acting semi weird (could have just been a fluke). I just made a 1 hour phone call and when I went to hangup, the screen never woke up. So I hit the unlock button, nothing happened. I open the keyboard, nothing happened. The phone was on because when I opened the keyboard, the keyboard was backlit. This never happened before the uninstall. Anyway, is there anyway to restore the Droid to the initial state? In other words a factory reset of the OS? I don't care if I loose all data, since everything I have is on the Google Cloud anyway.

All the previous guys stuff is still on it. And because of that I can't get rid of his email address so I can't access the market to get apps because I don't know his password.
