Does anybody know how to turn off the popup USB connected notification on froyo?It can be kind of annoying and seems like somebody should be able to do this.I am running CM6RC3 and can't seem to find an option for it there, but then again there are so many options that it could easily be hiding.

Is it possible to disable the notification sound that plays when I connect my phone to my PC? I tried upchucking SD card notifications, but thats not it. It is really annoying to have to hear that loud sound when I am in the office. Thanks
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo my little notification light up in the right corner keeps flashing after I get a call. The only way I've found to stop it is by restarting the phone. I was wondering if anyone else had a similar problem or knew of any possible ways to fix it.I was thinking it might have been a bug with the app Missed Call, but I've played with all the settings on there and it hasn't changed. I don't know what else could be causing it.

I have gone into sounds and selected notification sound and expected there to be an option for silent among the other sounds but no dice. And I don't see any other way to turn it off. I know it is probably incredibly obvious, but I just can't figure it out.

It's been happening for a few months, it worked ok for the first 6 months I had the phone, I've tried numerous PCs and cables, but nothing has worked. I'm currently stuck on v1.5 of Android.I've contacted Orange, but they've just passed me on to HTC, can anyone help before I just give up and buy an iphone?!

I have the phone in a holster and there are times such as driving or other times when getting the phone out to turn off the notifier is not easy or practical.I do want to know that one came in but letting the tone run its course is annoying both to me and anyone around.Is there an app for this or a setting I missed? I have a Droid X by the way.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe "USB Connected" notification stays on after the USB is disconnected, there's no way to evict it other than a reboot but now will reboot only if USB is reconnected to PC or Charger.I was so pleased by my new Galaxy S cell 3 days ago after a week of exploring and managing to get the best carrier and plan for this bright Samsung Smartphone. Then, the day after it lockup, but removing the battery for few seconds then replacing it back fixed that problem for that day. The following day been great too up the second lockup at night and this time, removing temporarily the battery did not permit to have the cell working anymore.So today I have been trying all day to determine under what condition these lockups occur. During those tests, I've first determined that during charging or during USB PC connection, I could repower up the Galaxy S. Then the cell could work for long period of time if connected to USB PC or power supply, but when I remove the USB cable, the firmware fail to detect that there is no more USB connection and start to flash every couple of seconds the message "USB connected" replacing the status bar at the top of the screen.
Then after several minutes, the cell freeze, and only by removing for few seconds the battery and then plugging the charger again, will permit to successfully power up the phone.I have of course made a Hard Reset to Factory Default, to no avail, during those tests. I think it's a hardware malfunctioning around the USB Port section. The connector look good seen with loop and both USB cable seem ok.If it's corrected by an update, I wonder if I'll be able to re-flash under this condition.
Installed Handcent and I'm getting double notifications when a new text comes in. I recall going into System and disabling the notification for the standard Messaging app but I can't seem to find it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Galaxy S3 on the Bell Mobile network in Canada, and aside from the horrendous battery life, it's a pretty good phone. One thing I notice that's kinda annoying is the "Connected to Wi-Fi network [network name]" pop-up that comes up quite often. I've managed to snap a screenshot of it.
How to disable this? The only info I've found so far is on the Verizon pop-ups, and entering the *#6335623# code on the dial screen, but nothing comes up when I try that, and I'm not even sure that fix would work for this.
I'll be talking on the phone and might receive a text message or gmail from someone. My phone immediately vibrates twice to notify me. Not only is this unpleasant when I have the phone to my ear, but it's also an annoyance to the person I'm talking to as they hear the vibrate sounds. In fact any time I'm talking to my girlfriend and my phone vibrates, she asks "who is texting you now?" I really just want the notification turned off while I'm on a call. Is there a way to prevent this from happening while on the phone?

It seems that I can either have absolutely no notification of a new text message or I can have this major intrusion of privacy by having the message displayed for all to see. I hand my phone to people constantly to use at my job sites. I trust they are not fishing around in my phone, but when it just shows up on the screen, how can they help but read it. Is there a privacy mode or a way of turning off that display bar?

I then download ROM Manager. then I did the flash recovery clock work. i then pressed the "Reboot into Recovery" (to create a back up)...and my phone rebooted and is stuck on a screen which has an exclaimation mark and a phone laying on the ground...how do i get my phone back? i want to root it...and load some customr ROMs...

For example I press the home button and it thinks I pressed something on the screen instead. I was wondering if anyone else ran into this problem and what might cause it (maybe some malfunctioning app?). It gets back to normal as soon as I unplug it.

It will connect, show me in every possible way that is connected but will not let me use the connection, e.g., browse the web, market store or any other type of internet/intranet connectivity. Is there any fix for this? Is it a software issue or hardware issue? Should I wait for the updates from Motorola or should I (and really don't want to) return it for another Droid X? If returning/exchaning it is my only option is there a way to backup all the apps/settings for my phone since I spent a lot of time customizing it already?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've only had my droid for about three weeks now and would like to take everything off of my old SD card and utilize the 16gb card but I can't figure out how to do so. I have a MacBook, and when I had my Blackberry Curve and connected that to the Mac, it messed up pretty much anything media related and prevented me from accessing the sd card (if I remember correctly, it was a while ago and I certainly didn't try to do it again). From the looks of some of the forums, there have also been problems connecting the Droid to Mac's so I'm afraid to do that. Does anyone know if this is still the case? I'm at a loss at how to get the stuff onto my phone or the new sd card.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to connect a Verizon Motorola Droid (Android 2.1) to my computer and Run my application on the device. I have followed the instructions on developer.android.com about how to "install the USB driver" and "set up the device for development".Specifically, I installed the Usb driver from whithin Eclipse (galileo) using the Adnroid SDK and AVD Manager. (I checked adb at this time and no recognition.) Then I installed the driver in windows (XP) via Start > Control Panel > Add Hardware. The windows installation seemed to work because during or after the installation of the C:android-sdk-windowsusb_driver some window came up and announced that the "adb bla.. bla." was installed successfully.On the device I have enabled debugging via Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging is checked. I also bring down the tri fork thing and "mount" the sdcard. I can successfully copy files to and from the device sdcard.
My application successfully runs on the ADV and I can access the ADV sdcard using "adb push" and "adb shell".With the moto droid connected, mounted, etc, if I run the command prompt adb command "adb devices" the resulting list is empty. No devices recognized.With the ADV running and the moto droid connected, mounted, etc, if I run the command prompt adb command "adb devices" the resulting list shows only the "emulator-5554 device". (this is the same thing it shows if the moto droid is not connected and only the ADV is running).If I "Run" from Ecipse with the device connected, debugging, and mounted, an instance of the ADV is launched and the program runs on the ADV, not the device.I cannot get anything to recognize that the device is connected.My conclusion is that the android debug bridge, adb, is not recognizing the device.I would appreciate any suggestions on how to get adb to recognize and work with my device.
For some reason, not sure if it was due to the rooting w/ kangerade latest version. But now when I am streaming pandora and the phone rings I can barely hear the people on the other end. Really scratchy, but its fine once I pull the aux cable out. I also added the new baseband that pete put out that was said to be for Froyo? Not sure if it is the new baseband, even though I get more bars in more places....(tired ass ATT slogan, even though I work there)
View 4 Replies View RelatedOn Droid 2, my wifi keeps turning on and of constantly. The only ay to stop it is to turn on airplane mode or reboot the phone. After rebooting wifi works for a little while, but after the phone sleeps for awhile and I wake it, it starts again. I have also found that if I go into wifi settings, hit menu, then hit "Scan" it fixes it, on a temp basis. This happening to anyone else? There a fix?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI go to "Settings" and then "Applications". Once in "Applications", I go to "Running Services" and turn off certain applications I am not using. How long are these applications supposed to stay off: Until I turn my phone back on again? Until I turn my display back on? I am trying to improve my battery life. I have turned off the background data and uninstalled the app killer. My display goes off after 30 seconds and I already have the brightness as low as it goes (I do this on every phone, I see no need to have a crazy bright screen).
View 2 Replies View RelatedFor some odd reason, I will miss a call or a text and wonder why I didn't hear the ring. So, I go into the settings and see that the ring setting is turned nearly all the way down, so I crank it back up again. Then, later it is back down again.
What could cause this? Is there some action which will cause it to automatically turn down the volume, not just silence it for a while, but actually adjust the setting down?
