I attempted to flash Pete's newest Froyo build. Did a wipe of data/cache, but my phone said the file was bad. Now for some reason I don't have 3G service. I've flashed every nandroid backup I had saved but I can't get it back. Any idea how I might be able to fix this?

So as of a few weeks ago, my droid does something kind of strange and annoying. Usually happens every couple days or so..
Basically it seems like its lost service all together.. it doesnt recieve any texts, and everytime i try to send one it says "cannot send." Once i see it do this a few times i turn it off, then back on and my phone is flooded w/ texts that i hadn't recieved since it started doing the whole thing.
Its almost as if my phone loses service for an hour+ then when i turn it off/on again it gets its service back and recieves all the texts ive missed... this is starting to get really old..
I'm trying to flash the newest Amon ra image and I'm not getting very far. For one thing I keep getting 'error device not found.'

It's kind of annoying how I lost all my ringtones and alerts for texts and stuff. The only option is 'Default Verizon' which annoys the hell out of me. I'd rather not have to download an app to get a simple ringtone for texts and google talk and phone calls. Any way to just get the regular list back that came with the phone?

Is this how to install petes new 2.1 build that everyone is talking about or is this an older ROM?
My phone is on the newest kernal as of today. 2.1-update1 and kernel version 2.6.29 Is it safe to root? What are the benefits? I'm a nerd at heart I do notice I have to kill apps running in the back ground. Anyone tell me what the benefits of rooting are? Also can I do it on my version? If so, is there a guide?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have xtouch X1 with MT6589 SoC. have lost my IMEI while flashing a Rom i have tried many different methods but none has worked and in baseband version it says unknown and whenever i try to type in IMEI via engineering menu it says can't send AT command and i have flashed back to my stock rom via SP Flash Tools but even that didn't work, I have tried terminal emulator method MTK Droid tools method but none has worked even tried to replace the file of IMEI one but still same.

View 3 Replies View Relatedeverytime i installed a custom ROM preferrably CM7 Apocalypse, i always lost my data connection, i dont know why this thing happen, then last time i installed CM7 Apocalypse again (changelog dated 9/7/2012 by itasoulas) i still lost Data Connection though i follow the instructions given, plus i cant receive a message even though i installed a messaging app. im tired im reflashing my phone back to Stock Rom over and over again .

On that device there were clear reasons to flash ROM's and since the community was ginormous, there was lots of information about the stability of various ROM's. So I'm new to the DroidX and wondering if there are any stable ROM's out that might be worth loading up (for fun and for performance boosts - not necessarily speed). Also: I dont remember if this rom is deodoxed or not. If not, is it safe to put 928 Blackglass on the phone with this ROM?
I've had my Droid for a while and finally decided to take the plunge and root it a few days ago. I had initially updated with a Simply Stunning 2.1 ROM, and it went well and was beautiful. I was tempted by the siren's call of Froyo, however, and decided to flash Bugless Beast 0.1 onto my Droid via ROM Manager. I've seen in multiple threads that this is supposed to have Flash and WiFi Tethering native, built into the ROM. Mine, however, did not seem to install these features.
Are there multiple "BB 0.1" releases, and could ROM Manager have grabbed one that did not have these features? I've already grabbed a program to do the WiFi tethering, but Flash is one of the things I had heard worked with this release. Should I reflash the phone? I'm hoping to avoid that as I ended up using Metamorph to apply a really nice theme for it, but I didn't think to check for Flash until I was on a site that uses it and it didn't work.
Got my ROM flashed for the first time courtesy of DroidReview on YouTube and more than a few of you on here. But in the vid there was never a mention of wiping the cache and/or partition while in nandroid. I seem to recall that somewhere else on here. Can someone tell me if you're supposed to wipe the cache/partition from nandroid before flashing a new ROM? If so, why (or why not)?

I get the feeling that this addiction will need to be fed more and more as leaks of 2.2 start poking out since it is now rumored to be coming. However, this causes an issue for me. My company was very reluctant to let me move away from the blackberry and to the Droid and have recently decided that I have to use the Goodlink Enterprise app for email. If/when I do a data/cache wipe because I've changed ROMS I cannot re-activate the email without my IT department generating a new PIN for me.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI install it and it goes fine but I didn't do a data wipe and the animations were pretty sluggish. So i reflash and do a wipe the next time. Goes perfect but now I have no contacts or calender and noway to sync up for some reason. So i restore to my old rom and go to download the new froyo build again-- i think this is where I went wrong. So when I go to install the newest froyo rom again, the phone rebooted and is stuck on the motorola logo boot up screen same with when I hold X and Power button. I don't know what to do from this point. I can no longer get to the recovery screen.
