Is this how to install petes new 2.1 build that everyone is talking about or is this an older ROM?

I have been building all my apps against the 1.6 version of the SDK until just recently when I switched to 2.2. I use ant to handle my builds and a normal build time for one of my apps was about 30 seconds. Now that I am building with 2.2 (that is the only change) it is taking over a minute to do the exact same thing... I was just wondering if anyone else was seeing a significant increase in the time it takes to build with 2.2.
When I make incremental changes to code in eclipse I am now noticing a "Building workspace: (xx%)" which takes a VERY long time in 2.2 compared to 1.6. I hardly every used to notice this because it was so fast. Now I notice it all the time.
I really hope that as we see additional sdk version come out that things just get slower and slower... also, I had read that with 2.2 we would see "significant" increases in performance on our existing hardware (devices). I'm definitely not.
First of all i'm quite a n00b when it comes to rooting and everything, however back in feb when i got mt ATT n1 I decided to root cause of the cool apps that wouldnt run on non-rooted phones.I followed a step by step guide with success. Then the early 2.2 build came out and I loaded it with CM updater and it worked fine. However apps crash often and the phone seems sluggish. I want to flash to the newest release... thing is I don't know where to start.I don't mind loosing all the apps and contacts since I have everything backed up. I just want a completely clean 2.2 flash.Any idea of where to start? I saw the thread that talked about upgrading but since i'm already on 2.2 I dont know what to do.

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy application is built on 2.2, but it is backwards compatible down to 1.6. I've used reflection for the newer methods. When I try to run it on an emulator in Eclipse, it only lists my 2.2 AVDs. I need to test on 1.6 to ensure compatibility. I've tried building with Android 2.2 and with Google APIs 2.2 with no luck. (what's the difference, anyway?) I have set <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="4" targetSDK="8"/> in my manifest. I also tried targetSDK="4".
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn the regular email app (not gmail), when new mail is loaded, older emails dissapear.
This is normally not a problem because I have the phone email app set to not delete mail from the server.
I received a very important email the other day. It got deleted by my phone when checking for new messages, and, of course, the original is deleted from my server for some reason!
Does anyone know what happens when older emails disappear? These emails can be just a day or a couple hours old.
There is no setting in the email app for saving emails.
I have search for the best ROM, even in the rating thread and have not found a consistent consensus of what people think. I am looking for the newest kernals and the best ROM.
View 6 Replies View RelatedDoes anybody have a link to get an older version of Dialer One? Is there a way that I can revert back to my previous version? I updated it to Version 1.2.6, and I must say the new changes are terrible. Facebook pictures no longer sync. 2.) Calling a number after dialing is more difficult as instead of having a fairly large area to click to call, you have to exactly touch the tiny phone logo, 3.) Before I could click the bar to change from contacts, recent calls, and favorites. Now I have to swipe to go between the three. The one positive with the new upgrade is the developer fixed a bug where the dialer would always crash if you attempted to add a missed call number to your contacts. Not that works fine. But losing the other three things are enough for me to want to go back.

View 36 Replies View RelatedI followed the directions the e-mail gave me. I downloaded it got the site and got the new version (2.4.44.10912.t100) and then when I try swyping to type I get the same blue box I did when it was outdated. Why does swype have to be such a pain to use.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWas getting ready to install the edited build.prop. I had renamed the old one to build.prop.bak, and somehow managed to restart the phone without putting a new one in. The phone stays at the M screen, and I can get into the standard recovery. Is there anyway I can push a new build.prop file through standard recovery? The only thing I have tried to do is reapply the 2.2 update.zip I was running, which didn't work due to signature verification failure.

I have come to the conclusion that vzw aborted the ota on the 1st 2.2, and not many people have gotten it. It seems at least on this forum that everyone has 2.2 via a forced update. Very few people have chimed in that they got a ota.However, given that vzw is releasing the droid2 on Thu the 12th, I would think that this is going to have the newest froyo, not the version released ota that everyone forced with. Correct thinking?
If that is also true, then shouldn't we be seing something coming out ota for us 2.1 droid 1 users very shortly? anyone have any dates?
I cant download the newest 2.1 v2 off the megaupload site due to work restrictions is there another site I can get this off of?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI would like to try cyanogen's latest build (although still not sure which one that is) but after trying to google everything I need answers to I am just getting more confused so I thought someone here could help.
I only have used sprecovery so this whole clockwork recovery is confusing. Says I need it but if I don't like cyanogens how hard is it to revert back to my adamz smoked glass that i have now with sprecovery? Don't even want to try and tackle the titanium backup thing.
Does Cyanogens come with busybox? Will I still have wifi tether and a kernel that supports it? What is this thing about having to install google apps in some special way as i read they are left out?
What I am looking for is all the cyanogen goodness (the ability to flip the phone and have screen rotate 180 degrees)with a smoked glass theme, stock theme or green theme, wifi tether(a must), moving wallpaper,overclocking and the ability to load my custom boot animations.
I like my Adamz smoked glass rom a lot but want to be able to rotate the phone and have the screen change. I have everything listed above except phone rotation now.
I have not had a single problem running Adamz rom or any issues with sprecovery. I can use these with ease so I am hoping someone can point me to an easy guide to make the change and answer a few of these questions.
I installed the lastest version of swype( did not have anything installed on this ROM).I saw the other thread was locked so I'm starting a new one I guess. Everything installed fine, but nothing happens when I swype. Manually typing works but when I swype it just shows the line makes a noise and nothing happens.

I'm just going crazy reading a new thread every 5 minutes of someone discovering a new issue with their X after installing a leaked and of course UNOFFICIAL build of Froyo. I mean you've already been warned of the potential problems and risks you might face with installing the leaked build; so why take the chance of potentially bricking your phone? Either way, maybe the mods can create a separate Froyo sub-forum for the time being, until we finally see an official release.

I remember with the D1 a lot of people had problems with the keyboard coming up and also a problem with the slide mechanism feeling loose when the phone was closed. Any similar problems with the D2 out there?
