I just went to install a new ROM and started formatting. Did Boot, system, and data, then went to do cache and accidentally selected SD card.I got a shell of a phone now.Other than my recent pics, I'm not concerned about any loss other than the licenses for ROM Manager Premium, Titatium Premium, etc.Am I screwed?Need to re-purchase?

I rooted my phone and downloaded SetCPU and ROM Manager. Can I do everything I need with ROM Manager to install a different ROM and wipe everything that needs wiped, and what all needs to be wiped? Or is there more apps required.

I am in the reboot/recovery screen of my android with ClockworkMod and I noticed when I turned on USB Mass Storage, the SD Card is readable but there is nothing on it now. Is there any important files I am going to need to put on the SD Card for my android to function correctly on start up/running? Or will my android automatically put the correct files on the SD Card on boot? Haven't tried booting it .

No complaints but when I drop my phone it immediately reboots. When I open it and click stuff to fast it will reboot and sometimes for no reason at all. Is this because of me not wiping data or just sucky phone? Using stock kernel. When going to CM6 should I wipe data?

View 13 Replies View Relatedtoday I put my sd card into my sd card reader to throw some photos on to my computer. After I was done i put the sd card back into my droid and booted it up. After booting I get a notification saying my SD card is blank, so I turn off the phone and pull the battery out. When I grabbed my SD card it burnt my hand "literally" it was that hot... Wtf?!?! I put the SD card back in the reader and the computer doesnt even see the card. Idk if anyone has heard of a similar problem b4 and knows a fix...Thanks in advance! Side Note; I work at a cell phone repair store, so I put the sd card in two other blackberry's and they say "your sd card needs to be formated or it is corrupt". I put other sd cards into my phone and i have no problems.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy "phone contacts" have simply been wiped out all of a sudden. My Google, SIM and Facebook contacts are there but all 97 of my phone contacts are simply gone! It now shows phone (0). I thought I could sync back from Google but it appears all along they weren't even being synced even though my Google contacts sync was turned on, so I'm still left with nothing.This is one of the most frustrating and ridiculous problems I've ever encountered on any phone. I rely almost entirely on my phone contacts, and I sure as hell do not want to start copying from my SIM all over again because I'd have to filter out so many unused contacts.

Now I know there's a "reset to factory" option, but previous phones I've had that often only just dealt with setting and left files or other data on the phone. They were essentially "soft resets". Tablet is a GT-P7500 Samsung Galaxy 10.1...Was going to be installing a new ROM on my tablet, problem is I though I had transferred the files onto the old tablet, but I had accidentally transferred them to my new tablet. So I opened up CWM and wiped everything. Then went to install from zip and the files weren't there. So I cant boot back into android to transfer the files. I can't boot into adt either and sammobile new hosting site terafile wont allow me to download any of the original files to flash with odin as it keeps coming up with Wrong IP.
Currently it loads to the splash screen showing Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and sits there.Any links to a ROM I can flash through ODIN. Or a way to transfer files onto a dead tab?
I did a full wipe of my phone to see If I ccan get rid of cyanogen mod. Now I have no sdcard folder. and I'm stuck in the TWRP menu. Is their anyway of getting my phone back? I have AT&T. View 3 Replies View RelatedI wiped the internal storage on my htc one on accident while trying to wipe the dalvik cache on twrp. Now when I turn on my phone it gets stuck on the splash screen. I hold down the volume button when turning it on and it goes to hboot where I am able to navigate to fastboot and my twrp recovery. Besides those two things all data on my phone is completely gone the storage only has about 16 megabytes on it now. In the cmd prompt typing in adb comes up with device not found and adb device shows an empty list.
Fastboot devices in cmd however dpes find my phone which is odd. Updating my drives doesn't work and the mtp driver can not install for some reason. So I can not use adb to push or sideload anything. I could use twrp to sideload something maybe if I could somehow get something onto my phone. RUU won't work because I never turned my s-off and since I am now at this stage I don't know of anyway I can turn my s-off. how I could get my adb to find my device(updating drivers doesn't work). I've unlocked and relocked bootloader so many times for different things. Basically there is no os on my phone. I can not use adb to put a rom on my phone. I only have access to boot fast boot usb and twrp recovery.
Few days ago I was wiping my phone to install another rom and besides wiping data and cache, I also made the huge mistake of wiping SYSTEM... My phone now just boots into recovery and nothing else.
I have an Efox Smart e4, equals to no.1 s6 and hdc galaxy s4 according to other posts here. MTK 6589, 1gb internal, 1,84gb internal sd.
The first custom rom that i installed was Essefour no.1 s6 by iceman and also the touch recovery. The rom performed great but I wanted to solve the issue that the phone kept switching between sd external and internal randomly. Also, I wanted to merge the internal memory with the internal sd so I was gonna try another rom. With this problem, was even trying the stock rom but to no avail.
When I try to install the Smart e4 factory rom for cwm and I get status 7.

Other roms it just fails.
Right now, my computer windows 8.1 x64 can't identify correctly my phone, only access the sd. So can't do any adb push. In download mode it identifies as lenovo composite interface?? and cdc serial, the last I can't install. In other modes, I get gt-9500 but with the yellow triangle.

I'm upgrading from my Droid 1 to the Droid X tomorrow and would like to start my use of the DX with it's new 32gb card in place of my old 16gb card from my Droid 1 but need to know if there's anything required to copy from my droid 1 16gb card to my new DX 32 gb card that would be required or helpful in the DX use.I will obviously transfer music/vids/pics but are there any essential files, apps, etc. that are needed.Or is it a good idea to use my paid MyBackupPro to copy the old Droid 1 apps/data for use in the DX larger memory card or is this not copatible to perform between the 2 devices?

(the one of the predator and alien playing chess).Now all 7 home screens are completely blank. No widgets or icons. Somehow everything on the home screens has been wiped. I removed the picture from the internal memory folder.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been using android for a while now, and I actually can move smoothly througth the system. But now I want to update for the first time my firmware with a newer custom rom. And I have some doubts:
Usually all customs roms make you do the wipes. What what actually happens with that? I know what those directories have, but I guess the proccess only erases the apps and some configuration, right? Because I think some apps config are stored on the internal storage.
It is recommendable to make a backup of the folders to be wiped and then restore it? If it is, will the overall config be the same as before the rom change?
i was in the gym today and had to switch batterys , when the phone started back up i had no texts atall and its been over 2 months since my last backup and have lost alot of texts
could the old database file have been orphaned or has my phone a galaxy note moved the file location of the sms database file ? or can i revert back to an old version ?
Just a quick question. When 2.1 is finally released, my Hero will be wiped clean and all apps will need re-installing, do you think, as the free for life wave secure offer will be over, they will want payment next time or is it a simple case of re-installing under the old terms? View 3 Replies View Relatedsuperuser permissions not working. i've already wiped and reflashed fresh 2.1.1. when i try to open superuser permissions all i see is a black screen. also when i use htc sense, it seems to suck up battery really fast but it runs smooth. but when i switch to the nexus launcher it takes a while to load up all the icons on the main screen. i've tried to search but it seems like the search is not accurate in hunting down the threads for me because when i try to create this thread, i see more similar threads than just simply searching for it through the top right search box.
View 9 Replies View RelatedAnytime I add a contact detail via the handset if I let it sync, either via Google or SE, the contact will be wiped which is pretty useless (basically I cannot add new contacts on the handset, preposterous!). I contacted SE help, they recommended I use the software update program to update the handset software. I have done this but the update software tells me the handset is running the latest software, the problem persists.
