The latest Swype Beta version is 2.4.44.10912.t100, however my Fascinate shipped with 1.63.39.8794. Can I install the Swype beta alongside this pre-installed one or is it going to seriously mess something up?

Just tried to install swype and when I login to the swype installer I get "You have installed Swype Beta the maximum number of times." I am going to email them and see if I can get my account reset or not but if not that sucks. Edit I posted this in the root forum because no stock would be installing this over and over.

I followed the directions and when I try to change inputs an error message pops up stating the screen resolution doesn't match. Anyone get this email and the error? I made sure I uninstalled my previous swype before installing the new one.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got the email saying that there was an update for the swype beta. In order to update you have to uninstall the installer and the keyboard. I am on bhmans take 5 so i removed it from system/app and wiped the data then attempted to install it and it wont even open it just force closes constantly.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI was using Swype before the public beta was released. Registered, downloaded and installed Swype, public beta version.
It is not stable on my phone. As recommended by developers, I have deleted the app, the installer, and re-did the whole thing but it still does not work. Every time after I use the phone -- get a call or make a call -- Swype stops working. At the end of swyping a word, it just gives a visual and audio notification, like it used to when the license expired on the pre-beta version.
Any one having similar experience or successfully using Swype beta on Samsung Moment with stock Android 2.1?
Anybody else like the leaked version better? Seems like it worked better if my memory is correct

View 10 Replies View RelatedI accidentally hit the speaker on the keyboard while in text mode a few times and I just assumed it was for searching BING. Last night I hit it and decided to try to search with it.... but instead what I said got typed into the text that was open!!!! I was blown away! So then I started texting my Bro-In-Law via voice and although it's not perfect, it is very neat! I wish I could read to it and train it better on my Pittsburgh-ees, but if I pause at each word and announciate, it is almost perfect. I just cant talk totally normal. All in all, that is a super cool feature that WinMobilePro could not match.... no way no how. Me likes!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have only had my fascinate for a couple of days but I already love swype. However, I am having a problem with the auto complete. Whenever I input an 'a' the first option on auto complete is ' asw@armysurpluswarehouse.com' which is apparently from one of my google contacts. Since the web address has a period in it I am unable to select the entire thing at once by double tapping so that I can tell swype to take the word out of the dictionary it uses.

I've Been having this annoying problem after updating to Dj05 clean rom v.3 (and v.6. ) Every time I start a word(seems to only happen in the browser, market). It sometimes misses the first letter and always capitalize the first 2 letters typed. Its more of an annoyance. but I was wondering, if there was any way to obtain a backup of swype, I see that there are all these modded swype themes out there, there must be a way to convert back to stock.

Is there an easy way to export a list of all the free Apps I have installed so I can print them out? Too lazy to write them all down but will if I have too. ;<) Also, not quite as important to me but is there an easy to export all the text messages and import them into the replacement phone?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis is for those of you that were using the one build of the Swype Beta that actually worked for the Ally (up until last week, when it expired).There is a new beta floating around (version 2.4.44.10912.t100), however, when installed on the Ally, it instantly locks you out with a message that this version wasn't made for your phone.I read somewhere that in the past, you could fix this by modifying the Swype apk to contain an older "license.dat" file (such as the one from the open beta). With this new version however, Swype will FC instantly if it was installed from a resigned apk.Out of curiosity, I extracted the files from within "classes.dex" and started poking around. In one of the files, I found this line.

It has really made typing on the phone easy! You should check it out if you do not already have it on your phone.

I downloaded the Swype Beta when it came out and have been having all kinds of problems with if freezing. I've tried un-installing and re-installing and it still happens. Swype beta users check your email, there's an update waiting for you. You have to uninstall the old first. Seems to work great with Froyo now.

Since the Droid X comes with a pre-installed version of swype, does this mean that we (Droid X users) cannot install the swype beta, or is there some other workaround?
