Motorola Droid :: Phone Is Stuck On Rooted 2.0.1
May 27, 2010
My droids battery life has been miserable and overall the phone has been acting pretty flaky lately. I recently went back to rooted 2.0.1 after running the cyanagen rom. I re enabled OTA and want to just try stock 2.1 for now and see if it fixes my problems before I take it into verizon. After I enabled OTA's it downloaded the file and asked if I wanted to install the update which I said yes to. Phone shut down and restarted and ended up on the Clockwork Recovery screen. I said to reboot and the phone just comes back up in a rooted 2.0.1 version still. It says its running 2.0.1 and the system is up to date.Whats the easiest way to get to 2.1 and unroot? Help please!

I am now stuck at the startup m. I was rooted running 2.1 with titanium backup, clockwork recovery and tthe kousch botstrapper installed. The first thing I did with clockwork was to tell it to make a recovery file. Today I threw the bootstrapper apk folder on the sd card and had it install. then I put the fly-x rom on the sdcard in teh clockwork folder, opened the bootstrap app and told it to boot into recovery.
Once in recovery I had it apply the fly-x rom.zip and everything seemed to go fine. no dice, stuck at the logo. pulled battery tried again, same result. got back into the bootstrap launcher and told it to boot the recovery.zip file I created. all seemed to go fine. Reboot and get the same screen.

I recently rooted my phone. I have not done any custome ROMs and only had it overclocked for a couple hours (it wasn't stable enough for me.) I've got a back up saved on my home computer. This morning I got notification of an OTA update from T-Mobile. I did the update and now the phone is stuck on the Samsung Vibrant screen. What do I do? Is this because I'm rooted or a problem with the update?

I believe it's called boot looping? It originally happened after I rooted my phone (original 1.5 software) following these directions: How To: Root the Samsung Behold 2 | The Unlockr. After that, I deleted DinerDash2, Midnight Bowling, Where's Waldo, IM, Talk, Amazon MP3, MyFaves, Telenav, HotSpot, Audio Postcard, Postcard.apk. When I tried to reboot my phone, I was stuck on the Samsung screen. I finally got the screen to go away, but a message repeatedly popped up saying the TwLauncher closed unexpectedly. Then I tried using ODIN and installing BH_Man's factory v1.6
http://androidforums.com/all-things-root-behold-2/63612-port-behold-ii-factory-1-6-a.html.
I used the adb commands to delete the bloatware again. Restarted the phone and got the same problem. (Except I was stuck on the android screen.) I tried to install the factory v1.6 again, then immediately did a factory restore and then rebooted my screen once it loaded. Everything seemed okay. I uninstalled the stock games and rebooted again. It seemed to be working. When I uninstalled more apps (including CubeLauncher) and restarted the phone. What do I do? Did I uninstall something I am not supposed to? I think I might try installing the 1.6 No Twiz Kernel. I am sick of these "TwLauncher closed unexpectedly" messages.

I did something stupid and tried to put the Galaxy S status bar on the D2 without realizing it is for the X. Now it's stuck in an endless bootloop. What should I do? I was trying to do the D2 2.2 SBF but how do I connect since it keeps rebooting? EDIT: Found some info online during my panic. Allowed me to start the SBF, hopefully it works. "Power on holding the power key and the Up arrow key on the keyboard. After the M logo appears, release the two keys. That will put your Droid into the bootloader, then you can connect it to your PC via USB and use the SBF post to bring your phone back to normal."

Navigation has been working great since I got the phone in November. Starting yesterday the phone gets stuck on "SEARCHING FOR GPS." It's so odd - because it goes through the whole FROM, TO and even gives me the summary - 5.2 miles to destination etc.
Then it can't find the GPS? I've tried pulling the battery and uninstalling the last App I installed (which was handscent SMS). Could an app update have killed it? I think Yelp & Astro Manager recently had updates.

My phone is stuck on "The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." If I hit "force close," the screen just keeps popping back up.I've powered off twice and even pulled the battery. My only other idea is to force into factory reset during reboot.

I rooted my phone Friday and it is now Tuesday(Got my phone in August). I installed some apps that are rooted only. Tethering, Overclock Widget, Titanium Backup, ROM manager. When I tried to install a new ROM I was getting download errors. I saw something about ADW.Launcher so I downloaded that and got a theme for it. Today when I reinstalled the Cyanogen 6.0.0. Stable release and rebooted my phone I would get to the Motorola Symbol. After that I got to my custom boot image(Dancing Droids). The image got half way doing its animation it restarted from the begging this continued until I took out the battery. Went into recovery mod and the Cyanogen boot image appeared and did the same as my Dancing Droid but completed 1 1/2 circles with the blue flame. When I got home I plugged in my phone flashed a 2.2 FRG22D.sbf file. I then used RSD lite and connected my phone. Had some trouble flashing the file but eventually got it. When I went back to the boot loader screen and cleared my cache/data(thought it would help) I restarted my phone. Watched and Motorola symbol appear and posted this 1 hour later. Can someone please tell me what I did wrong or what to do?

Howdy gang: Back in the 2.0.1 days, I rooted my droid, using the "root your droid.com" guide. I never did anything with it, never loaded any Roms (planed on it, just never got around to it) When 2.1 came out, I did the OTA. After the OTA, I still have the "super user" ninja icon. Now I want to jump on the 2.2 bandwagon and I need root. But do I still have root? how can I tell?

I've been rooted for quite some time to it. Not exactly an old pro, but I know my way around at this point. At any rate, I decided to give the BatteryLeft widget a try today since I went to Fab's xTheme and it didn't have a battery percentage in the notification bar. The dev recommends that you let your phone completely discharge a few times so that it can accurately predict the remaining percentage and the time until the battery dies.So I let the battery completely discharge and I connected it to my home wall charger to begin recharging. The problem I have been having is that my phone will not stay powered off and continually tries to boot up. I tried charging via car charger, USB and in the media dock and I had the same result.
The problem is that the phone won't charge long enough to stay powered on and continue to charge. The process of rebooting seems to prevent the phone from charging appropriately and uses up the small bit of the charge the battery gets for the 2-3 seconds before rebooting.I tried rebooting into CWR and letting it sit to gather enough charge to stay up, but that doesn't seem to have worked either.I'm at a loss for what to do. I can't get the phone to stay on to do anything, I can't get it to stay off to charge.

I flashed my phone to 2.0.1 b/c I thought I had to do that. Turns out I didn't, but there is outdated and updated information out there and I was misled. Anyway, 2.0.1 installed fine and it booted up, though my phone wasn't activated. Anyway, then I realized I needed SPRecovery, so I installed the sbf for that using RSD Lite. It installed successfully as far as i can tell? But it did a reboot, and now it's just stuck on the white-background Moto logo while plugged into my USB. RSD Lite says "Please manually power up this phone."

On the original phone, I went back to stock using the "live without fear" .sbf file, to 2.01. I had attempted to also let it do the 2.1 update but it continually gets stuck on the M and won't proceed past that, so I again put the 2.01 sbf file on, and let the phone get to the "touch the droid to begin" screen. The phone has the original recovery on it, the box and explanation mark, no SPRecovery or clockwork. Can Verizon tell at this point that the phone was previously routed and charge me full price for the replacement?

I was wondering if I can easily switch from 2.0.1 and Humancyborgs 2.1 rom on my Droid. My droid is rooted and I have run the 2.1 rom but I switched back to 2.0.1 because of some issues with the rom. I am hoping it is just a matter of swapping out the Nandroid files like I did when I returned to 2.0.1. I am missing the cool features of 2.1!

I'm kind of new to Rooting and Roms but I keep getting the same problem while installing Roms using Rom Manager. I flash and then I install the ROM and everything goes well until the boot up screen. It gets stuck in a loop of the Droid and Droid Eye animation and I have to restore it. Can anyone help me figure out what's wrong? I am using the Droid with Froyo, rooted using Easy Root.

I was on 2.2 rooted on my droid x. Attempted to install a replacement for the taskbar. The phone is stuck in a boot loop now. I've read about 5,000 different pages saying just use RSD. It all starts by saying; plug the phone in, let the computer detect it, install the drivers.. This is where I'm stuck. The only thing I have access to is the recovery console and the big endless loop. So at no point the phone turns on to the point where the PC will detect it as a device.

So I switched to the 2.2 leak and decided to do the .sbf method to get 2.1 back because I thought 2.2 was a bit buggy for my tastes. Unfortunately, when I had gotten 2.1 back on my phone, I could not activate. It simply said it cannot do it. I tried switching back (again) to 2.2, same problem. Tried manual user activation via ##7762726, still nothing.

Alright, I'm new using android phones and I know there a tons of unnecessary apps running on the background. Coming from a BB user, I used to shrink my OS so I could use only what I needed. I found out that a lot of of preinstalled stuff on my phone that is always running on the background, skype mobile, amazon crapware, my verizon, and so much more. I searched how to remove all that stuff and I found out that I need to root my phone, I rooted my phone, and now I want to know what do I need to know in order to use adb, or access the phone using the terminal.

Has anyone used Good for Enterprise on a rooted phone? My company's now mandating we use this to access our corporate email, and they mentioned we couldn't use it with rooted phones. Does anyone know what'll happen if I try to install Good on a rooted phone? Or, could I re-root after I install Good? Also, if I have to unroot, will Titanium Backup still maintain the frozen state of my Verizon bloatware? Otherwise I should be able to just use Root Explorer and rename the .apk files, right?

I've been on the fence about rooting my droid, and looking through these tutorials it looks simple enough.
1. What are Kernels and do I need them exactly
2. Do I need a specific ROM to overclock or will just a plain rooted phone work
3. Do I need a nandroid backup?

I ended up rooting to BB0.2 lastnight, did not have a chance to download 0.3, I have not installed any kernals yet, but just wondering why my camera and power buttons no longer work? do I need to script them, and what is the point of typing in scripts anyways, it just seems like more work to do rather than pushing a button to power off the phone. Also, if there was a problem with instalation, how do I revert the phone back to stock and start over, stock meaning non-rooted

I just bought my Droid X a couple of weeks ago (2.2 and Rooted). It wanted to do some auto app updates and I told it to do them all not sure if it was before or after that that I noticed a red light by the ear "piece/speaker" and the phone was on and a battery level warning came on which I thought was premature. I plugged in the power cord the light went to green and I looked over a few minutes later and it was dead. I could be a little off on what happened when but that's what happened.
It wont power on now and I've tried holding a few different buttons while powering on and still nothing. I did check the settings the other day and it was successfully backing itself up not sure how to use that backup though. I just looked over after typing this post and the Motorola "M" was on the screen but I couldn't get it to do anything so I pulled the battery and tried again to boot it and nothing.
