I'm on fabs rom..one of chevs kernels overclocked at 1.0ghz same setup i had on my last droid
i get phones run diff from one another but it seems to matter wat kernel i throw at this its running hotter and doing basic things like just some light browsing sometimes get the processor up to 42-44 c
any tips on something i can possibly try

Well after almost one month of frustration with this phone disconnecting my call while talking.because of the screen touching my face. I finally have a solution Hurray.simple when call arrives hit the power button Once. the screen will go black and lock. and you can move all over the screen with touching etc and the call continues when you are ending the call just hit the power button again and everything goes live again on the screen to conclude the call. I was to almost ready to go back to my old phone just to be able to talk on the PHONE.
View 7 Replies View RelatedSeems like since 2.1 my Droid runs hot when doing extended surfing or using the car dock. It gets very hot in the car dock (with GPS and navigation running). Combine that with the heat effects of the sun and the Droid gets very hot. Any one else notice this? Seems like this would be bad for both the Droid and the Droid battery. Normal?
View 17 Replies View RelatedIf you take out your battery, then plug in your Droid to the charger it turns on. I've always thought phones should do this, but I've never had one that did until now.It acts normal, as in still connects to data and voice, etc. I can't really see how this is too beneficial, but thinking back on the days of a blackberry, when those things' battery died the phone's data and voice would not turn on with or without the battery until about 20 minutes of charging.

View 48 Replies View RelatedI remain baffled that we can have a device so advanced as the Droid in our hands yet Google has yet to release an easy way for us to sync our Microsoft Outlook contacts.I am in NO way affiliated with this guy, but I think I've found the best/easiest way for those of us that rely on Outlook for our contacts and calendars to stay in sync. Checkout gSyncit.Yes, it's $15. But for that price, you get an integrated solution to Microsoft Outlook that will sync your contacts and calendar to you gmail account. So even if you don't have a gmail account for your email...setup a dummy account and set gSyncit to sync your contacts/calendar to it. Then just setup your Android device to sync with the same account. In the end, you basically end up with a free push system that will always keep your desktop and Android device wirelessly synced.There are several other free sync solutions out there...but I've found most of them to be rather abysmal in their consistency and usability. In addition, gSyncit will sync contact pictures.

Being a long time OUTLOOK user on my Windows PC, I am use to my previous smartphone syncing these items with my phone. As of now, I see there is a google sync app, but unfortunately this doesn't work with the latest Office 2010 Public Beta. I have yet to hear of a time frame when support will be announced. So it looks like I am no solution running Outlook 2010 any syncing anything to my phone.
What are users on here doing for a desktop to droid sync for your TODO/Calendar, etc? I like Google Calendar, just don't like having to open a web browser on my pc to access my calendar.
I have noticed that the green 'online' status indicator in Talk doesn't update on my phone when someone signs off, it stays green for them. They show as offline on my PC but continue to show online on the Droid. If I sign out and back in to Talk on the phone it will update their status, but otherwise not. I've tried closing chat but that doesn't seem to work, I don't see anything in settings that would affect it either. Any ideas?
I'm the only one using Android, my other contacts are all using Talk online (not with a phone) if that makes a difference.
I have had shoddy internet lately in places that I should not. So I try to update my prl and profile and it just sits there saying "updating." When i cancel out, the phone moves super slow until I do a battery pull.I also can not enable 4g because it makes my EVO run super slow basically horrible.This is with 2.2.

I have spent the last couple of days trying Phys2D and JBox2D, however both perform very poorly - I am struggling to get even a few objects to simulate smoothly as frequent garbage collection spoils it. One question I do have is will these run smoother on an actual G1 device or is the performance of the emulator accurate?

I have to port all my drawing code to opengl. However can somebody give me directions. For example how do i do the following in opengl:

And why cant i just use Canvas as an abstraction layer (facade) for opengl. An implementation of canvas could call the correct opengl methods in order to render. Why do i have to port all my code. I thought the canvas was a good abstraction interface to a drawing surface, why do i have to bother with opengl? It looks like this is possible, when is see the following contructor: "public Canvas (GL gl)" Also the this seems usefull. SURFACE_TYPE_GPU Surface type: creates a surface suited to be used with the GPU So what should i do? Re implementing the GamePainter completely and call opengl functions directly? I was using the plus version of LP, but it seemed to run pretty slow on my phone. Usually with menu selections (aka widget selection, or app selection when long pressing on the screen). The widgets also didn't update properly etc.I'm curious though is it might of been some advanced settings that I didn't play with. I typically just did an install setup my dock and homescreen, but never touched the advanced settings.Does anyone have some advanced settings they could share? Also my phone isn't rooted, would that cause all the lag with it? Cause honestly TW runs fine.

Has anyone had this problem? Is it the case that is not letting it cool off? Or is this a problem with the phone itself?

What gives? I made no changes in the past couple days - I want to try another ROM tonight, but I need to verify root and fix if needed before I waste my time.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis little web page runs fine on my desktop but when selecting the area with a G-1 Android device (select box that says statewide..) the data refreshed with the requested data in the table but the text in the select box does not change,,, the other select boxes (month and year) work fine.. Fwiw the data is still rough and so is the gadget...

The broader question, i guess, here is how to debug a web page on any android browser? we don't have a firebug equivalent..
Further I confirmed the same bug in the Moto Cliq browser (also old still a 1.5) very strange every once in a while the G-1 operates correctly, but I can't figure out how to get it to do it, just that every once in a while the select shows in the window when selected and the data refreshes..
I have verified that this seems to be a verified bug in the early browsers... so now I'm trying to figure a work around, I added setFocus on the select box but it is ignored on the Android G-1

I have three select boxes on the app so I need to display the selected info...as the selection is served.. not just initialization. FWIW the behavior seems to be on select boxes that have the selection dynamically loaded,, when I finish all three boxes will need dynamic loading now only the area box is dynamic, year/month are coded and so work.

You set the time at which you go to sleep and it has several options such as disabling gps, wifi, bluetooth and putting your ringer and notification volume at whatever you want.You set the wakeup time as well so the phone turns things back on for you in the morning.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhat do we do now.. i cannot charge my phone which means i cannot talk on my phone because the port on my evo 4g at which i am to use to plug my charger into, is broken. after looking into this issue on the internet, i have learned that this is not an uncommon issue but that this is a very common issue amoung evo users... i absolutely love this phone, however i am very let down and discouraged to have developed this problem and i am hoping that there is an easy solution... i would hate to have to be any more irritated than i already have become.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI cant use my Moment without my Bluetooth... any time I try to talk on it, my ear or hair hangs up the phone or puts it on speaker or turns on some other app. I think I read here that they were working on a way to lock the screen when talking? I was very disappointed to find that the android market is missing and the slide market is no match for it. Is there a solution for it? i presume rooting and the flashing a new rom might do the trick but is there a site with proper rooting instructions where they dont say do this step (d) without explaining steps(a,b &c). Without the market I would throw away the galaxy.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Acer Liquid E keeps Muting every time I answer a call. Its odd because its not disconnecting at all and I can hear the caller perfect. Sometime if I hit the mute, speaker phone, or hold buttons a view times it starts to work normal. All outgoing calls are perfect. Hopefully I can narrow it down to either a phone defect or a OS issue that just needs an update. Has anyone else had this issue?
