View 3 RepliesI have had the Droid for a week now...I m droid number 2 the first one the touch screen would not work. I am coming from a Blackberry curve. The droid Im finding is hard to text on. I have to text one handed (don't ask why..) so the phyical keypad does me no good. Is there a way to make the keys bigger on the touchscreen? I did 2300+ texts last month so I really need it to be easier to hit the keys. Also i find the words I've already texted are very small compared to the BB curve anyone have any thoughts on that. This may be too much phone for me..i love the apps amd how superfast it it. but the texting is a issue.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to make the sounds on the Eris louder? I have put in music from my computer using MP3 gain at 93 db. and it seems really quiet most of the time. I can try and raise the db some more, but does anyone know if there is a setting somewhere that is curbing the volume? My wife has the Eris too and her phone is louder playing the same song.
Mine seems to have quieted for some reason and it is not a speaker blown or anything. Just quieter than hers is and a bit hard to hear if in the car with the window down. I noticed it is really low in volume if I am listening to Last FM, Pandora, or Stitcher Radio. They are hard to hear at all if the window is slightly down.
Is there any way to make the keys click on the keyboard when you type ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am wondering if I have a software problem. I have tried everything to shut off the haptic feedback when dialing a number to make a call. Haptic is shut off for the 4 main buttons at the bottom of the screen and it is off for text typing, but it will just not shut off for dialing phone numbers. Am I missing something here?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI was using the quick the "contact quick task" widgets for one-touch dialing of key contacts prior to installing Launcher Pro. But now in LPP, they don't work. I've tried recreating them but they just seem to be broken in LPP.
Any fixes or ideas on other ways to do one-touch dialing with LPP? Also, is it just me or does "speed dial" (on the favorites page in dialer) not work at all. I can get to the speed dial page but cannot successfully add contacts.
The keys work fine, but certain ones make a clicky or crackly sound (typically after not been used for a moment, then they're fine after being pushed). There is also a strange feeling to them to go along with the sound.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was wondering. Is there an app for changing the soft keys on my Samsung Vibrant to only activate when pressed long or double clicked? I am just sick and tired of accidentally pressing them because they are so damn sensitive, and unlike the Fascinate or Epic 4g, so close to the touch screen that pressing spacebar on the onscreen keyboard half the time results in hitting the soft keys by accident. I don't understand why we can't customize what the soft keys do and how long or many times activates them, because if you got even normal sized finger tips, it's so annoying to be typing into the search bar and then press back right below and have to retype everything again.

View 1 Replies View RelatedQuick rundown on what I've done to my DX: First got it, OTA 2.2 update, rooted, then deodexed with 928droid's black glass deodexerrr, then installed incognito theme. Alright, after I installed the Icognito theme yesterday, a few hours later, a few strange things started happening. My 3g cut out, googled around, and tried dialing *228 then option 1. A few minutes later the 3g came back on but eventually quit working again. I tried a battery pull a few times, nothing. Then I tried the *228 again, nothing. Second, I have this damn "Memory usage" thing on my homescreen that I have no idea where it came from. Lastly, now whenever I reboot my phone, it boots automatically into clockwork recovery. When I'm in clockwork and hit "reboot now", it boots up fine. Here's a screenshot for more info on what I'm talking about:

View 5 Replies View Relatedas many if not all are aware who use the Motorola Droid that the bluetooth and voice dialing is a joke. Phones from 6 years ago and every one since function better than the Motorola Droid does in this aspect. With over 800,000 units said to be sold(Moto Droid)... the number of stars for this issue are very low.... In fact the overall participation on google code is low i think.I'm asking everyone to go on Google Code, log in with your gmail account, or do whatever you have to do to be able to 'Star' the issue. Posting replies on their site is not necessary without relevant new info to the issue, and only dilutes the issue. Staring alone is enough and very helpfull
View 49 Replies View RelatedIs there a ROM that will support bluetooth voice dial support? It's a frakking joke that this super advanced phone can't do a simple function that phones mastered 8 years ago.
View 23 Replies View RelatedThis may be just me or my combo of applications but, When I enter a number on the touchpad and press dial the screen goes dark and will not come back or accept input unless I put the phone to my face or otherwise cover the the light sensor. Even pressing the power button does not bring the screen back . I have forced the 2.1 update and have not noticed this behavior before. Not a big deal but is annoying if you dial a wrong number.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it just me or are the keys a little too much on the skinny side? I am coming from an iPhone 3G and I found it much easier to type on that. I predominately type in portrait mode and I find myself having trouble with this keyboard, especially when it comes to the spacebar. This is a huge surprise actually. I was expecting it to be significantly easier because of the screen size, but it just isn't.
Maybe I just need to get more used to it. However, if this problem continues I think I'll have to return the phone because messaging and email are two of the biggest things for me. Can I download any other keyboard that have fatter keys? I tried Swiftkey which didn't really help. Does anyone have better keyboard on their Droid X?
For some reason my droid likes to power on in my pocket (I think its the screen sliding open/closed causing this). As I use the unlock pattern, it seems the emergency dial function is too prominent on the screen and almost every time I'll hear my phone using the emergency dialer when the phone presses against my leg while walking.Does anyone know if there's a planned fix or already released fix that can make the emergency dialer also a 'slide to activate' like answering a phone call or possibly reduce the emergency dial button in size considerably? As I've pretty much given up on Motorola providing much in the way of Droid updates at this point, esp since they appear to be ditching android slowly I'd be willing to root for this functionality.
