Motorola Droid :: App To Repeat Vibration For Texts / Emails?
Dec 1, 2009
Is there any app or way on the driod to set the vibrating alert to repeat? the installed vibration is so quick and light that i hardly notice it. many other phones offer the ability to repeat the alert, etc. can that be done on the droid?

I've been lurking since I got my VZW Droid, and decided to join up so I could get an answer. From day 1 my Droid has been re-recieving the same 5 emails! I get other new email fine, but these 5 just keep coming back! When I get them I select them all and click "Mark Read" and they all change from white to grey, but then maybe an hour later I get the notification and they are all white again! I suppose I could just delete them from my email completely. (This is with a Hotmail account by the way).

I set up a google voice account and when someone texts me on my GV number, it sends one to my normal text messaging app and my google voice one....How do i stop the normal text msg app from receiving the google voice texts while at the same time allowing it to receive texts if someone texts my normal verizon number? Make sense?

Anyone managed to get their Legend to vibrate when it receives a txt? A pretty essential feature as I keep missing them and have to poll the phone repeatedly (due to the 'green light only blinks for 5 minutes' feature which I really hope gets fixed soon). Yes, I have the "Received Messages/Vibrate" ticked but it never does. Calls, haptic feedback on keyboard etc work fine so it's not a problem with the vibrate hardware.

Droid X arriving today.I just gave my Incredible to my daughter.I had Google Voice set up on the inc but disabled it because of repeated messages. Is there a way to set up the phone where you do not get your texts, voicemails, and emails in 3 or more different apps. I have my phone set on multiple short vibrates for txt alerts... and it does that, but for some reason now when i get a txt from my wife its a long vibrate instead of multiple shorts... I still have all the settings on multiple shorts so i dont know WHY it changed just her to a long vibrate and i can figure it out... I have shut my phone off multiple times but it still does it...
I have a droid X ... and I am using handcent. only thing I can think is different is i downloaded "Task Manager" the other day? but it just started this issue today.
I know its very minor but it annoys the hell out of me because I cant figure out how or why to change it. I have even changed the vibration to custom settings and it works on every txt but from my wife...oh i forgot to mention that this morning i downloaded angry birds... and maybe the issue started after that? i went to play angry birds a little bit ago and it wasnt anywhere in my app list for some reason...i couldnt find it anywhere. went to the market and it showed it as being installed, so i uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it then showed up as being back in my app list? beats me why? love this phone but i feel way over my head with this thing. i've had it for 5 days now.

on my droid x whenever the phone vibrates either when im clicking something, getting a text or a incoming call. the phone makes a buzz noise. also i noticed the phone does not vibrate as heavy as it should and is not as noticable when its in your pocket with the sound off. i used a droid 1 and a droid incredible in the past and both of those the vibration was quieter. so im wondering are everyones droid x like this or does mine just have a defective vibration mechanism or something?

First I'd like to say I don't know how I ever typed without Swype. Whoever thought of it is pure genius so I love that. However can someone tell me how to turn off the clicking noise when I press a letter? I like the vibrate to let me know that I touched it but could do without the Storm-esque click. There was one more but I forgot it at the moment.

Is there any way to make my droid vibrate softer? It's too loud for meetings, etc., when I still need to be aware of notifications or even phone calls. There seems to be only one vibrate "volume" setting. My coworker has an IPhone, and it's very soft and only she can hear it when it vibrates.

My only complaint about the Droid is the seeming lack of options for notifications.
Is there a way, or an app, that would allow you to assign different notifications to emails vs texts vs missed calls?
Also, does anyone know if there's a way to set the phone to re-notify you periodically if you have a notification that has not been looked at? I tend to leave my phone sitting on my desk at work and would like it to let me know if I missed a call or text while I was away from my desk.
Ideally I'd like to silence email notifications, but have text and missed call notifications with unique ring tones for each, and I'd like the phone to renotify me every 10 minutes or so if I have a text or missed call waiting for me.

I have a Droid 2 that is almost three weeks old.Where are received texts? I got one while in a meeting, glanced at it and then put my phone to sleep. Later I realized that I have no texts except for those that I sent or responded to. Is there a way to get my texts back? This one was rather important. On my old flip phone I could read all of my texts!

Does anyone know why when I send a text over 160 characters to non verizon people, the message gets cut off, as in it doesn't send the whole message in separate texts, it just sends the first 160 characters, and that's it. HOW DO I FIX THIS?

I just got the droid about a week ago and I am not getting all of my texts.I get score updates from ESPN, and they aren't getting through to my Droid. It seems like any message from a non-10-digit number don't come in (like 75743 or something like that).I called Verizon and they were clueless.I also don't know how many other texts I am not getting.I sure don't get as many as I did with the iPhone, so I am sure the problem extends beyond non-10-digit numbers.I was also told by a friend that they are getting the same text twice from me.Any suggestions?
