View 2 Replies View RelatedCan someone point me to a cut/paste tutorial? I searched but couldn't find much. I have stumbled onto holding down the physical up key and dragging my finger over text to put it on the clipboard but need to know more.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have had my Droid since January and when I began to update my contact my friends that did not have facebook I would just go under an album and assign a picture off of facebook to their contact. When you go to the facebook picture from an album there was an option that said "set as". Well today I went to go try to set a picture to another friend and the "set as" option no longer shows up? Was that taken away with an update? Is there anyway to set a facebook picture from an album to a friend?
View 2 Replies View RelatedUnder Settings > Applications > Quick launch, you can setup hot keys to launch apps. I've tried it a few times, and it sure doesn't seem too efficient to me. And I'm a keyboard shortcut kinda guy. Just wondering if any of y'all found a use for this "feature".
View 3 Replies View RelatedI did not see this mentioned but I know it is a feature that many have been waiting for. You can now center the weather icon in the widget to give it more of a Sense UI widget feel. Widget skin shown is airportone.

But my one complaint is that the speaker inside it is only OK. It would be GREAT if the call audio while the phone is plugged into my car's AUX jack could be sent to my car's speakers instead of the bluetooth device, leaving the bluetooth device as a glorified microphone.
Right now, when a call comes in and I'm listening to music through my Droid the audio stops and the call audio is transferred to the parrot kit, as it should. So there is obviously some sort of programming that can be done....
I have a motorola bluetooth headset and with my old Storm I could push the button on the headset and it would say "Say a command" from here I could say "Call John Doe mobile" and it would call him up. Haven't figured out how to make this work on the Droid in the same manner natively. Is it possible or is there an application. Purpose of bluetooth is to be hands free. Its not very hands free if I have to pull my phone out my pocket to dial the number first to be able to use the headset.
View 10 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden my security lock feature stopped working. I've rebooted several times and the lock screen pops up initially after reboot, but then I do not see it again. I can lock the screen and it goes black, but if I hit lock/home key again it goes straight to home screen.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis may have already been discovered but this weekend while holding my Droid I stumbled upon a cool (maybe useless) feature. If you have the "Google Search" shortcut on your home screen like I do, all you have to do is lightly shake the Droid to activate the search feature. You have to be on the same home screen as the Google Search shortcut. The weird thing is I cannot reproduce my findings 100% of the time. For instance, this morning it worked 7 out of 10 times.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI assume that I am not the only Droid's owner who has this weird experience with the device: sometimes when I touch on a list (e.g., Apps listed on Market) or a web-page. The list or page will rapidly scroll all the way to the bottom of the list or page. Although I experience this at least a couple times every day, I am unable to reproduce this phenomenon at will.Does anyone know what cause this? Is it a bug?
View 15 Replies View RelatedIt seems like the time feature, or something, is off when it comes to the weather picture. For instance at around 4:45PM everyday the image turns to a moon, and a sun will appear at like 3AM. Which is annoying.

View 6 Replies View RelatedVerizon Wireless promised to deliver the Android 2.2 Froyo update to the Motorola Droid starting "this week." The update hasn't started rolling out yet, but InformationWeek has already learned some disappointing news about it.According to Verizon Wireless, two of the biggest features being introduced by Android 2.2 Froyo won't be included in the Droid update: tethering and Wi-Fi hotspot creation. It is possible that Verizon Wireless is purposely leaving these features out of the Droid to entice customers to buy the Droid X (which offers hotspot creation) or the unannounced but imminent Droid 2.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am going to be doing some international traveling and my first destination is Shanghai, China. Questions are as follows:
1. Will my droid 1 work internationally?
2. Is there a way to disable the phone feature and only use text?
3. If I text, will there be any additional fees?
4. If I do take a call, how much would it be?
5. If I use skype on wifi, will it work or cost me anything?
6. If I do disable the phone feature, will skype and text messaging work?
7. Will my email still check over 3G or whatever signal? Is there additional fees for this?
Due to a audio issue VZ had me reset my X, a pain for sure. The phone worked but I couldn't figure out how to turn-off the irritated screen lock as it was before the reset. I think I've found the answer on the Moto website it says "
<LI style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list .5in; mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto" class=MsoNormal>If your DROID X handset had "simple swipe screen lock" turned off and you upgraded your handset to 2.3.15 Froyo update, you will not have the option in settings to turn it back on again because the ability to turn that feature on / off was removed. Can this be the only answer? The just decided to remove a feature like that? Does anyone know of a way to turn of the screen lock?
Ordered my DX on Friday, phone is currently in route and will be in my hands tomorrow via Fed Ex.One question visual voicemail isn't a free feature with Verizon!? I'm coming from AT&T and iPhone, never had to pay for visual voicemail. I called into VZW they said it's a $2.99/month add-on, really?Who uses VVM and who doesn't?I know there was an app for the Incredible that would push your voicemails so you can boot the app and use it just like VVM, any good ones for the X?
View 13 Replies View RelatedIf you select MANUAL Location (and enter your ZIP Code), it unlocks two additional features that the automatic location folks don't have?
1. RADAR Button
2. Hour by Hour Forcast
To access, set your weather setup to manual, set it in the dock, and touch the weather wigit once it appears. Change it to automatic and repeat....buttons gone.
Would be nice if it were available for both!
QUESTION: We all have noticed the intermitant weather wigit over the past few weeks, but has anyone used (2) docks in two different locations (or dockrunner) and had it successfully change your city? I haven't had any success - BUT I am not sure if that is a bug or design...
I really liked the expose-like (Mac's expose) feature on the HTC Evo where if you pinch out it will show a spread of all your home screens as little thumbnails--like mac's expose feature. Will this be available on the Droid X?

Is is possible to remove the call feature from a phone, leave the MMS/SMS and Data modes? Basically I have a couple of older gen phones which are pretty crap for anything but media purposes, I use them whilst training or at an OP in Afghan. I just throw my headphones on if im running, as if I drop them.. I dont mind much.
Id like it if I could whack my sim in one, but remove the call function for OPSEC purposes. Still remain useful for SMS and Data(internet) usage whilst im away or even home. I've done this with certain devices (Wildfire, this was only used for Beats and Net, I removed the SMS and call function)
Why do I have a "Slide" to either answer or not answer every Phone Call? The problem is that it only started doing this when I just turned the phone off and back on. I have had the phone since release and it has never done this before. Does anyone have any idea how to disable this slide to answer or reject feature. I don't want it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was rooted and then not and then again and then not and now I'm back on my "not rooted" kick. I have actually found the phone quite snappy without root and have had no issues since unrooting. This morning I was doing some house cleaning and found that SU is still installed on my phone. I tried to uninstall and got the Uninstall Unsuccessful message. Can someone walk me through uninstalling this app? I have the Android SDK tools installed and have used them, although I am by no means an expert or even a casual user, so be gentle. I am assuming that I will be able to remove the app through some sequence of adb commands.
