Am I missing something or is this not available yet? I have tried cut & paste from an incoming email (both in Gmail and Yahoo) and can't seem to figure out a way to do it. I also tried cut & paste from the web browser, from a Google Doc and it doesn't work.

Can someone point me to a cut/paste tutorial? I searched but couldn't find much. I have stumbled onto holding down the physical up key and dragging my finger over text to put it on the clipboard but need to know more.

View 15 Replies View RelatedFirst I'm very new to smart phones: I use the application called Handcent SMS, if I hold down the Message bubble when texting I have an option menu appear > Message Options > Copy Message Text.
1) Question: Where does it save the copied text to and how can I paste it to lets say another app like the already built in Phone Book.
2) What is a good place to see a list of function apps for the Droid, and why is the latest build still 1.6 when other phones already have 2.2? (sorry if that question has been asked before.
Any news on how much bigger it is? When it will be out? And where you can buy it?

View 49 Replies View RelatedAlright.. I had a Motoq9M for a couple of years.. and such a bad experience.. I was skeptical about EVER buying another motorola again.. Alas.. I refuse to give up my verizon coverage.. and bought a Droid.. aand Im ALMOST hopeless with some of this stuff. The first week everything worked great, then as I started adding apps, things have gotten hinky.
Problem 1:
I set up a "lock pattern" and my screen's timeout time is 30sec. Whenever I'd make a call even after I'd unlock it.. or I've answered the phone and unlocked it.. literally 2-3 secs later.. the phone would blackout and lock again.. WTF? soo.. i disabled the lock option.. problem solved.. but now I don't want to re-lock it if it's going to bug up again.
Problem 2:
I seem to have an unremovable facebook app... can't delete it from settings, and I can't delete it with an un-install app it doesn't even show up to look at in app management in settings.. uhh Help.. because
I USED to be able to go to a friends photos, and choose the "set as" option as a contact photo or a wallpaper.. it started to only do it once in a while .. and now I can't do it at all.. I REALLY want that ability back.
Problem 3:
half the time I go into my task killer, and apps I've never even touched to activate are randomly running in the background.. and when i go to look at my SD card space availability and its says unavailable..

All I can find in the Droid is copy all cut all. Am I doing something wrong. By the way I love this phone this is just one area I have not mastered or maybe it has not been perfected as of yet.

I forgot my password to this very site, so I reset it from my droid. A couple of seconds later I receive an email with my temporary password, I try to copy it to paste it into the login window in the browser and I find myself at a loss on how to copy text from an email. I google around and find this: How do you copy/paste text from the Gmail app? - Android Community Forums. It says it is not possible? (The provided workaround does not work). This is a major bummer, I've been doing this on my old BlackBerry for years.

And, after making a video on Droid, how do you move it to your computer? I am assuming the video resides on the SD card (since this is where your photos go). Is the best way to transfer to just put the card in your computer, or is there a better way? Just asking for a buddy who made a video and tried to transfer via USB, and it only transferred a part of the video.
Finally decided to give my droid wifi a try and I'm trying to figure out just how to copy and paste my 63 key WPA encryption key to input it so I can join my home network. When I open the emu and type su and hit enter, it brings up an "Edit Text" dialog box with the options to copy or paste and it won't let me proceed. (I have successfully done it before on another ROM). Am I doing something wrong? Can I run scripts using Root Explorer and how? Is there another emu you would recommend?

My girlfriends contact; I would prefer to have a photo that I took as contact pic; everytime I edit the photo, it reconfigures to the facebook pic. What can I do about this? And the second thing, is anyone else completely disappointed with how difficult it is to copy and paste text from a browser page? I goto settings to select text and no magnifying feature comes up, not to mention that it immediately selects whatever is highlighted once I remove my finger from the screen.

I am trying to figure out if landscape orientation should be available all the time, or only for certain programs and apps. My home screen does not rotate, for example. Neither does People (contacts) or my call screen when I'm using the phone. Any clarification would be appreciated.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried the swype keyboard a while ago and i friggin loved it, problem is, it was the beta version that you had to manually dl and move to sd card then install.I ran into a problem a couple weeks ago, it said my swype keyboard trial period was over and that I couldnt use it anymore, and now im stuck with the default keyboard again.Is there an official version of this thing out yet? or a different one? I really wanna use swype again but I cant find anything

When you go to the facebook picture from an album there was an option that said "set as". Well today I went to go try to set a picture to another friend and the "set as" option no longer shows up? Was that taken away with an update? Is there anyway to set a facebook picture from an album to a friend?

View 26 Replies View RelatedJust rooted last night....Here's what I'm hoping to be able to do soon. I have a bluetooth parrot visor clip in my car. So far it works pretty well. But my one complaint is that the speaker inside it is only OK. It would be GREAT if the call audio while the phone is plugged into my car's AUX jack could be sent to my car's speakers instead of the bluetooth device, leaving the bluetooth device as a glorified microphone.
Right now, when a call comes in and I'm listening to music through my Droid the audio stops and the call audio is transferred to the parrot kit, as it should. So there is obviously some sort of programming that can be done....
