Ive heard a lot of people say that Sherpa is a really good app but I cant seem to find any links to download it to a non-tmobile phone. Is there any way to get the app on the droid or do you have to be on tmobile?

So when I get an email from a Tmobile number, nothing is displayed. just a bunch of small blue boxes with a "?" in them. Looks fine on the web GMail but not in the GMail client on the phone. No option to show pictures or anything like that. Any ideas? Tried to take a screenshot but the stupid screenshot option only works on the home screen Email shows that there is an attachment but there is no way to open it, any ideas would be great

i've got the european gsm htc hero running on tmobile usa pre-paid minutes. Is there a way I can know when I have new voicemail? on my iphone I had a dedicated voicemail button and it would have a red dot on it if I had new voicemail, I'm wondering if I could get something like this on the hero? The way it is now is I have to call the voicemail contact, and check for voicemail that way.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I run any application from Eclipse on my real G1 device (a retail one, this is not a dev phone), I am granted the READ_PHONE_STATE and WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE even if i don't declare them in the AndroidManisfest.xml. I actually can call TelephonyManager.getDeviceID () to retrieve the IMEI and I see these permissions in Settings -> Applications. I don't have this behavior in the emulator. On SFR in France, we are disconnected if idle for 3 minutes, but I guess T-Mobile's timeout is lower. By the way there is a bug in the Smack library, the "keep alive" setting is not enforced, e.g. if you set it to 30s, in the worst case the whitespace will not be sent until the double of this time (60s).
View 4 Replies View Relatedmy g2/hero is currently rooted i did this as i couldnt wait for tmobile to release the latest rom update as ive been trying to fix my signal issues, 2 bar is the norm 3 bars is rare and 4 bars well that would be a miracle as in the 2 months of ownership ive only had 4 bars once. but my question is even though my hero is rooted is it ok to use either the new tmobile rom or the latest htc rom on a rooted hero as at the moment im using the macado rom (excuse the spelling) i thought this might of help my signal but it has remained the same. so i thought id give the htc or tmoble rom a try but i dnt want to unroot my hero as i like being able to have my apps on the sd card.

View 3 Replies View Relatedapologies if this has been covered before, but there are so many differing articles and threads on various websites and forums that I got fed up of trying to work things out. Having been away from my pc for a month whilst on holiday, I've not had chance to keep close tabs on Android issues, (and being on holiday I wasnt going to make special provisions anyway!) but here is the problem - Whilst I was away, I received two notifications on my HTC Hero (TMobile G2 Touch) that there was a new version of something or other, both of which which I downloaded, and both of which made my touchscreen very unresponsive at times. Presuming that this was the holy grail Android firmware update, I took it into my local TMobile store on getting back home to ask them if it was possible to remove the 'improvement'.The guy in there pointed out that there was a new Android firmware update available which when installed might resolve the issues, so he pressed a few buttons and started a download on my phone, told me to leave it running as it would take about half an hour, then restart the phone. However - the download wouldnt take effect as it needed 25mb free space to install and there was only 23mb available.After going home and wiping a few apps to leave the necessary space, I cant find this download anywhere.Has anyone got any idea where it might be?

View 7 Replies View RelatedGot the phone on Monday and have just been getting my head around it but mainly at home and on wifi out and about today and realised it just will not use mobile broadband this is despite it being set (I think) to use mobile internet when no wifi. I tried to search and it seems lots of people have some sort of problem like this. when I'm in wireless settings and networks and push the connect to mobile network button, I just get a 'connection failed due to incorrect APN setting message' though having looked at it it looks right general.t-mobile.uk. nothing I do seems to change this (switching wifi off, walking out of range, leaving it on)
one thing I have also noticed though is I have never seen any g,h, e etc by the signal strenth indicator (which is normally only 1 or 2 bars - i.e. poor). so I assume it's just not finding 3g etc signal, despite the t-mobile website mobile broadband checker saying its been good strength in all the places Ive been today! I've also tried repeated power off and on again and airplane mode, then switching this off. this is really winding me up now as its a great phone but not if you cant use it's mobile internet functions when out and about.
This is the weirdest thing that happened to me. I got the official Tmobile unlocked code when I got my Vibrant 2 months ago. I have both ATT and Tmobile service. Very easy. There's two way to unlock it per Tmobile's instructions. Please be advised there are two different ways to unlock this device. It is very important that the instructions are followed as listed.
If using a T-mobile SIM card:
1. Put in a T-Mobile SIM card.
2. Turn on the handset.
3. Enter: #7465625*638*Unlock Code#
If using a Non T-Mobile SIM card:
1. Put in the Non T-Mobile SIM card.
2. Turn on the handset.
3. Enter the Unlock Code provided by T-Mobile.
Note: DO Not enter #7465625*638*unlock code# with a non T-Mobile SIM card, as this causes the handset to freeze.
If you receive an error message while performing the instructions do not make any further attempts to unlock the handset. Please be aware that if an excessive amount of incorrect attempts are made, the phone will be permanently locked. You will need to verify the IMEI by pressing *#06# and contact Customer Care for support. Anyways, I just popped in my ATT sim into the Vibrant and used the unlock code I was given. No problem for almost two months. I switch Tmobile/ATT sims with the Vibrant. So this past weekend, when I put the ATT sim back into the Vibrant, the phone asked for the unlocked code again. It's a good think I save all of my emails with the unlocked code. But is this normal to have an official unlock code and the phone "relocks" itself? This is the first time I've ever had a GSM phone (with either ATT or Tmobile "relock" itself").
I bricked my Vibrant right after an all night no holds barred recovery using Odin. Long story.I then allowed the Froyo update and it completely bricked my phone dead! Tmo is sending a new unit but asked if I had used Voodoo Lag Fix. Odd thing to ask and I can only assume they were going to void my handset exchange.Word to the wise. Stay away from voodoo?They confirmed that phones are bricking with the Froyo ota update. I'm just saying!

Okay my issue is that my phone gets into safe mode 90 percent of the time i turn it on for the past two days.I power it on and its in safe mode.
