View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is weird. My wife and I both have droid x's purchased same day. I connected my wifes X to my laptop, the laptap goes through the install process and tells me that I'm missing a driver. I also notice that the X is charging. I disconnected it and connected my X and nothing. No charge no attempt to install. I have the debugg checked on both X's. Why will it atleast charge on one X and not the other? What do I need to do to my X. I also touched the usb icon on my X and tried each option and nothing either.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThis could be a long post so here's the gist of it: my new laptop running Windows 7 doesn't want to mount my Droid when my external harddrive is connected. I tried a couple different tests using my Droid, my external harddrive, and a thumbdrive to try to isolate one of the devices as being screwy, but... When I mount the droid FIRST and then connect my external harddrive, the computer will automatically unmount the droid when the external harddrive is connected. If I connect the external harddrive first and THEN try to mount the droid, the droid just won't mount.
When I mount the droid FIRST and then connect my thumbdrive, everything works fine. If I connect the thumbdrive first and THEN try to mount the droid, everything works fine then too. When I connect the external harddrive and the thumbdrive to the laptop at the same time, I get no problems here either. (NOTE: All of this mounting is done via USB but I get this problem when I try to mount via bluetooth too... The computer will pair and connect with the droid via bluetooth, but when I try to use Windows Explorer to browse the files on the droid, it pops up on the laptop with "service not available".) It seems that my external harddrive seems to have something personal against my Droid...But I never had this problem on my old laptop (which ran Windows Vista).
Just got my X @ 12:01 this morning at a midnight release in Roanoke, Va needless to say I'm stoked! But, I got into the office this morning and tried plugging it into my laptop to charge via the USB cable and it didn't work?

View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to stop the Droid X from charging when it's connected via USB? Here's the situation. I take a train to commute to work, it's about a 90 minute ride, and there's no AC power. I like to use my laptop during the commute to get some work done, and with my new droid I bought an app that tethers the internet connection, but only over USB.
Problem is, when it's connected over USB, the laptop battery charges the phone, and the laptop dies after about 45-60 minutes. Without the phone connected, I can use it for my whole commute. So I really need to be able to disable the charging while still maintaining the data connection from the phone to the laptop.
Has any one had any troubles with PdaNet this weekend ? I have been loosing connection like crazy today on my laptop . It seems to just drop like every other 1 hour or so .Been like this that last few days . Any ideas from any one ?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the Motorola droid (rooted) and recently upgraded my laptop to Windows 7. I've mounted my droid to my laptop in the past - I always had to search and find out how to mount it. Anyways yesterday I wanted to mount it to pull some files off my laptop and transfer to a friends laptop - using my Droid like a USB drive. When I plugged my Droid into my laptop with the USB cable, my laptop dinged but nothing else. The little light on the side of the Droid telling you it's at least charging didn't light up, the USB options didn't come up in the pull down screen on my phone... It hasn't done anything. I've tried all three USB ports on my laptop, the same USB cable works in the AC charger, I've re-started my phone and laptop many times with no changes.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just picked up a Craig Netbook CLP 281a. at Riteaid yesterday. It's an updated version of the Craig Netbook CLP281 that came out last year which I also have. The newer model is faster. It has a bigger processor and more ram and is running Android 4.0.3 I used Z4root with my older model Craig Netbook which ran Android 2.2 and it worked fine. In the older version of Android 2.2 USB Debugging was in Settings/Applications/Developer/USB Debugging. That path no longer exists in the 4.0.3 version installed on the Craig Netbook. I've check Settings inside out over and over again and USB debugging is not anywhere to be found. So I can't use Z4root or SuperOneClick because they both require checking "USB Debugging" first before they can root the device.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an Acer Aspire netbook which dual boots Android and XP. I am trying to figure out how to (1) look at the file system (with a file manager type of interface), and (2) install an app on it (specifically one that I am developing). It seems like all this should be obvious, but the netbook isn't something that I can just hook up to my SDK using USB so apps don't install on it the same way that they do on (say) a Droid. The environment seems to be relatively closed compared to other devices. Maybe there is a way to ssh into it over the network?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am getting a Nexus 7 in the mail soon and I am wondering what is the best application for recording lectures?
Also, is it possible to connect my nexus 7 to my Netbook for taking Pen Notes (similar to a graphics tablet)? I am planning to use my Nexus 7 for textbooks + recording lectures. I am using my netbook for notetaking and I usually use a GraphicTablet for anything I need to draw or write down with. I use the OneNote application. Any possible way to do the same w/ my Nexus? Also, not all rooms have wi-fi connection! So I can't connect w/ wi-fi. So basically I need something with a USB connector for the graphic tablet function!
I just got a Galaxy (i7500) and I'm trying to connect it to the Samsung PC Studio 3, running on Asus EeePC 1000HE, Win XP Home.
1.) Model Number ? _Galaxy
2.) Firmware Version ? 1.5
3.) Baseband Version ? I7500JIIGC
4.) Kernel Version ? 2.6.27
5.) Build Number ? 76XXCSDCBALUM6375
I'm using the phone in Israel, provider is Cellcom, phone is unlocked.
Problem:
When trying to connect the phone to the netbook I attempted BT and USB - both failed.
In BT, the PC Studio finds the Galaxy and prompts to type a PIN to authenticate. I type 1234, hit 'Send'. On the handset I get a message saying another device is trying to connect, but with a random 6-digits PIN, which I cannot edit - hence pairing fails. I tried vice-versa (handset first, type the 6-digits to the PC Studio, hit 'Send') - same results.
In USB mode, PC Studio is always 'Not connected', even though the phone is connected, in Data Transfer mode. I also tried just connecting the USB without 'Data transfer' - same result. No connection.
I tried pairing Nokia E71 with the Galaxy, entered at the E71 1234 as the pin, then 1234 at the Galaxy - and it worked fine. Any idea how to fix the PC Studio problem? I want to sync my Contacts/Calendar from Outlook, and keeping them there (not importing all my data to Google..)
I have successfully connected to netbook for file transfer with X10 but don't know how to connect to use phone as wireless cpnnection for mobile browsing.
