How to install Droid on laptop or netbook?
Anyone know of a way to get a laptop or netbook to access and use the Droid's GPS (via tethering)? Basically using the phone as a GPS receiver.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just picked up a Craig Netbook CLP 281a. at Riteaid yesterday. It's an updated version of the Craig Netbook CLP281 that came out last year which I also have. The newer model is faster. It has a bigger processor and more ram and is running Android 4.0.3 I used Z4root with my older model Craig Netbook which ran Android 2.2 and it worked fine. In the older version of Android 2.2 USB Debugging was in Settings/Applications/Developer/USB Debugging. That path no longer exists in the 4.0.3 version installed on the Craig Netbook. I've check Settings inside out over and over again and USB debugging is not anywhere to be found. So I can't use Z4root or SuperOneClick because they both require checking "USB Debugging" first before they can root the device.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am getting a Nexus 7 in the mail soon and I am wondering what is the best application for recording lectures?
Also, is it possible to connect my nexus 7 to my Netbook for taking Pen Notes (similar to a graphics tablet)? I am planning to use my Nexus 7 for textbooks + recording lectures. I am using my netbook for notetaking and I usually use a GraphicTablet for anything I need to draw or write down with. I use the OneNote application. Any possible way to do the same w/ my Nexus? Also, not all rooms have wi-fi connection! So I can't connect w/ wi-fi. So basically I need something with a USB connector for the graphic tablet function!
have xp on laptop, but cant get either program to successfully install.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an Acer Aspire netbook which dual boots Android and XP. I am trying to figure out how to (1) look at the file system (with a file manager type of interface), and (2) install an app on it (specifically one that I am developing). It seems like all this should be obvious, but the netbook isn't something that I can just hook up to my SDK using USB so apps don't install on it the same way that they do on (say) a Droid. The environment seems to be relatively closed compared to other devices. Maybe there is a way to ssh into it over the network?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got a Galaxy (i7500) and I'm trying to connect it to the Samsung PC Studio 3, running on Asus EeePC 1000HE, Win XP Home.
1.) Model Number ? _Galaxy
2.) Firmware Version ? 1.5
3.) Baseband Version ? I7500JIIGC
4.) Kernel Version ? 2.6.27
5.) Build Number ? 76XXCSDCBALUM6375
I'm using the phone in Israel, provider is Cellcom, phone is unlocked.
Problem:
When trying to connect the phone to the netbook I attempted BT and USB - both failed.
In BT, the PC Studio finds the Galaxy and prompts to type a PIN to authenticate. I type 1234, hit 'Send'. On the handset I get a message saying another device is trying to connect, but with a random 6-digits PIN, which I cannot edit - hence pairing fails. I tried vice-versa (handset first, type the 6-digits to the PC Studio, hit 'Send') - same results.
In USB mode, PC Studio is always 'Not connected', even though the phone is connected, in Data Transfer mode. I also tried just connecting the USB without 'Data transfer' - same result. No connection.
I tried pairing Nokia E71 with the Galaxy, entered at the E71 1234 as the pin, then 1234 at the Galaxy - and it worked fine. Any idea how to fix the PC Studio problem? I want to sync my Contacts/Calendar from Outlook, and keeping them there (not importing all my data to Google..)
With the upcoming dual-boot netbooks with Windows and Android, how can one select an external USB webcam while in Android OS mode? Currently Android still lacks a camera selection API.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI own a Samsung Galaxy S4 and a Galaxy Tab 3. I want all of the music from my phone to automatically sync with my tablet. I download to my phone directly and don't want to transfer everything manually each time I download a new song.
I see that Google Music can do this but it's designed for music that is stored on a laptop/pc. I'd rather not do it this way if possible as the whole reason I bought the tablet was to avoid carrying the laptop around.
note that the music is stored on the SD Card and not the handset. Not sure it will make a big difference but I thought I would point it out.
I have just bought an Android Smart TV Box (to replace my AC Ryan media box which gave up the ghost a few days ago) and it mostly works fine - it is connected to my tv via hdmi and the box is hard wired to my router - so it is the standard connection setup. I have two usb hard drives connected to it. I obviously want to drag and drop media files from my phone (android) or my laptop (Windows7) to the connected hard drives I use ES Explorer app on my phone and Windows explorer but using either version I cannot see the Android box wirelessly - if i do a scan using es explorer it finds the laptop straight away and i can drag and drop but it just will not find the android box at all. However if i go onto the Android box and into the es explorer app and do a scan it picks up the laptop and i can drag and drop a file onto the laptop. So the wireless is sort of working as opposed to not at all. But just seems odd that i cant see it at all - i cant even ping it from the laptop.

Most importantly i dont want to have an active internet connection for streaming . Although Wireless LAN can be an option .
I have a 16 GB SDcard. I have used it on my Samsung Galaxy Ace for around 8 months now and it has worked fine. Today I when I tried connecting it to my laptop to update my music I faced some problems.
My computer detects it and displays all files, but I am unable to make any changes to the the folders/files i.e. delete, cut or copy new files onto it. I was also unable to format it. So I formatted it via the phone itself and tried it on my laptop again. I am still unable add new files to it. However, it works without any problems on my phone.
Since I do not have my the USB cord, I am using a Samsung Micro SD adapter to access it on my laptop.
For some reason my plug stopped working, ive only had my galaxy s4 active is only 2 weeks old. it only charges when plugged into my laptop or xbox, but when i plug it in the manufactured plug and usb cord the phone will not charge while on. when off, the phone just vibrates every 3 seconds. and will not charge.
it used to charge on the plug when i would have it already plugged into my computer for a little bit. but now it doest work anymore..
Last week I switched from an iPhone 4 to the Verizon Galaxy S4. I love it so far and I'm still on the upward slope of the learning curve, but I'm looking for an email client that I can use on my laptop that will sync with my phone. It's my work email and it is set up on Outlook on my Toshiba laptop (Windows 7 64bit) and through the default email client on the phone (it's just a POP3 account). The problem that i run into is that mail deleted or sent from one device is not reflected on the other.
