I had Exchange and Yahoo both set up on my droid for about 1 month now. Working fine. Today I noticed my phone hadnt gone off with emails so I pressed the email icon and gone. It was back at the setup wizard. It just up and dropped both my yahoo and exchange. They both set back up just fine but strange nonetheless.

i was just getting out the car right now when my phone dropped from my pocket into the curb and there was water there now my phone only turns on and says " bootloader 2c.6c" on the top left hand corner, i think its dead.will verizon give me another droid, i think i've fore xactly one month now, im not sure if i got the insurance, i dont remember talking about it with the salesperson and now im freaking out if i would have to pay full retail for another one.

I remember a thread where someone used electrical tape to fill that gap. Just wondering what the rest of y'all have done and what the best solution is.

A few calls are going through but almost ALL are being disconnected back to the previous/home screen after one or two rings -- INCLUDING, now, *611 and *228. Called tech services this morning and am now on hold (15 min. so far!), from a land line. Texts from my family have not shown up, since yesterday and this morning. Did a soft reset this morning.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had a couple of low height drops that didn't result in any damage. The phone is actually really tough. But the other day I found out how tough it really is. I had it in my car between my legs and when I got out and stood up, down it went, face first on to an asphalt parking lot. It made a sound unlike it had before, and I knew right away. There is one small crack running from about 3 o'clock to about 1 o'clock running diagonally across the screen. Surprisingly, everything still works as it should and the crack hasn't spread. I do have a screen protector, and I think that is the only thing that may have kept it from being worse.
I also had the hard silicone cover on as well. A quick call to VZW to see what I could do, $90 for a claim through Assurance. Not really what I wanted to hear). I will admit that I did not check on claim deductible prices when getting insurance. I expected to hear $25 or $30 maybe; but not $90. I can't upgrade again until July of next year and I really hate this happened because I'm basically stuck with the phone. I have no options other than filing the insurance claim or buying a new phone at full retail price. Is there any fix for the screen I could possibly do myself, or am I just screwed?
I'm having trouble with almost all my outgoing calls. It's taken me up to 4 calls to one person just to finish a short conversation. It usually starts with the person not being able to hear me and then there's a beep and the call is gone. I talked with a Verizon tech last night and she said my longest call (to her) lasted 53 seconds before she couldn't hear me anymore.
This morning I called my mom to test the hair theory (can't have hair between the phone and your face). We were able to talk for 3 mins and 17 secs before I lost the call. The only things different were the beep sounded and we were still able to talk, so evidently the beeping doesn't signal that I'm about to lose the call (I think we talked for a minute more before losing the call) and I don't think there was ever a point where she couldn't hear me -- the call just dropped.
Some of the past posting I've read have indicated that people have gone through multiple Droids (I think one person posted he was on his 4th) and was still having problems.
Verizon is sending me another Droid, but I'm not holding out a lot of hope because of all the postings I've read about this problem. I'm looking for some positive remarks about phone calls -- anyone have some and care to share?
Oh and Verizon rep also said the new Droid they are sending me is the final one. If I have problems with it I either have to put up with it or pay full price for a different phone -- does that sound right?
The screen is shattered which sucks. It's still usable but looks horrible. I have insurance on it so I have some questions as to the whole procedure i'll have to go through when I bring it to verizon.
1: Does my insurance cover if I drop it?
2: Do I have to get a new phone or can they send it in and get the screen fixed?
3: Do I have to pay for a new phone? If so will they then send me a new one and let me keep my old one so I still have a phone while I wait?
It sucks because I've never dropped it, and it was just my luck that it falls right on the screen.
since the update i seem to have a much weaker signal and calls are getting dropped. quite often it seems that i bounce between 3g and 1x. anyone else?

When she is on the phone talking it is constantly, muting her voice or something cuz no1 can hear her. she just got the phone less than a week ago. I read online and found a bunch of stuff about the proximity sensor and the software issues, however those were all dated last year around winter time. So I am trying to see if there is a current fix for it. I see on the forums people have some problems with hardware on their incredibles but I didn't see a thread for the droid. Basically she can hear people talking but no1 can hear her and it happens like every other phone call.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been reading the wifi threads on here, the Verizon forums, and the Motorola site forums. I've changed the router settings on my home wifi router according to directions found on those sites. For the first time today, I tried wifi at a different location. It worked perfectly at first, but dropped the connection after about 20 minutes and wouldn't reconnect. It shows that it's connected, but data won't refresh.
So my question is, is the wifi problem with the Droid X something that everyone is afflicted with when trying to hook up to 802.11n routers, or is it only some Droid X's. The 3G signal in my house and at work isn't strong enough for me to download larger files like audio books without timing out. I'm wondering if it's worth trying for a replacement or if I should wait for some kind of software fix. I don't hold out much hope for that anytime soon - the Verizon rep was completely unaware that there was any kind of issue with wifi on the Droid X. I know they are generally clueless, but I would think if it was widespread enough they would have at least heard about it...
After dealing iwth this, I understand why Droid X owners are using 5X as much data as other Verizon smartphone users. We don't have wifi options...
So I have my X in a cheap hard case till outterbox makes one. Has anyone dropped their phone yet? If so, how did it hold up? was there any damage?

Anyways, my DX has been working flawlessly since I got it back on 10/6. Sunday, 10/31, my DX quit syncing just my corporate Exchange 2003 emails, then yesterday it started not sending emails as well and now, this morning, it quit syncing my personal email. Corporate email will sync manually, just not push. I have rebooted several times, pulled the battery several times, and also deleted both my Exchange account and my personal account and re-added both and the problem still persists. I don't have any task killer apps installed and haven't recently added any apps since the issues started. Anyone have an idea what may be causing the lack of push (in and out) on both of my accounts?

Well, i have putted to be notified in 1 hour if i have new emails the problem is the phone didn't check the emails and didn't have the notifications. only if i enter on the "Mail" application i have the new emails.. if i didn't enter, this didn't check the emails. What is the problem?. I have APN droid installed and i have deactivated the 3g 2g gaps. But i have configuration the WIFI to stay connected always.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just pulled the battery to do a reset last night after a lockup and today I'm getting notifications everytime I get a new email. it never used to do this and i figured it was just cause I didn't use the gmail. now I'm thinking that it just might be one of the background tasks that I was always killing. I recently switched to home++ and I didn't use the built in task killer all day. so I guess my question is, does anyone know which background task would control this so I don't kill it? also, is there a place to go in the settings to change the led color for email alerts?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm starting to get junk mail sent directly to my phone through my hotmail email account. I have added both the sender and the senders domain to the list using Windows Live Mail Beta. These emails are still getting through to my Droid X. First, there are no option on the phone to block emails is there? And secondly, there is not an option to add emails to any junk folder on the phone either that I have found. Anyone else having this problem? I've tried both adding my email accounts through Corporate (for hotmail/msn) and the email option on the phone.

View 6 Replies View RelatedOver the past week or 2, several times now, I'll get a series of email notifications (sometimes as many as 10 or so, a few seconds apart), but then there won't be any messages. I'll check later, but still nothing.
I have a POP, gmail and an exchange account.
I'll also sometimes have POP email keep coming back, sometimes 5+ times, after deleting it every time. It may be 30 minutes later, or hours later.
So I got my Eris on Wednesday and dropped it today and did I mess it up. It feel from about waste level, I'm 5'8 so it wasn't that high. I even slid my foot out to stop a direct hit to the ground which was successful. However this didn't help at all. The entire screen shattered but the phone still works. I know I should have a case for it but in the 9 years of having a cell phone this is the first one I dropped one. I was planning on getting one but haven't had the time to go out and get one yet.
Anyways I though the Eris had the gorilla glass that was basically unbreakable. It doesn't seem like a fall from waste hight, slowed down by my foot, onto the linoleum floor at the food store would destroy the screen. The cracks start at the corner and spider web through the whole screen. Everything I've read about people dropping the phone said it never broke. I am wondering if the screen might actually be defective, probably not but I'm grasping at straws to avoid the insurance deductible. Good thing I have insurance on the phone.
I have my gmail account and a Comcast POP 3 account working on my Droid but would like to set up a GoDaddy.com domain email account that I use with the Droid. I am not sure what type of email format godaddy uses. Is this possible?

before , i had v.4.5 and email worked like a champ. Tried to reinstall SG v.5.0.1 few times - no effect.
Anyone can suggest where to get and install back email app. Not really interested in getting from Market non-droid versions.
I dropped my phone from a height of less than 2 feet (knocked it off a table) and the back cover and battery fell off/out. So I popped it all back together, but just noticed that the volume buttons on the side of the phone are missing!
View 8 Replies View RelatedSince upgrading to 2.2, I had to remove and re-add my Exchange email account to get rid of the required security code input (as most users have). Since doing this, even with it set to Push, and to default to Fetch every 15 min if Push is not available, I have to manually hit Refresh to retrieve new email. This is also happening with a co-worker's DroidX, but not with another co-worker's phone, which is a different model.
