Motorola Droid :: All Messages Listed With E-mail Address When Go Into Sent Box / Fix It?
Feb 18, 2010When I go into my Sent box all the messages are listed with my e-mail address as opposed the recipient's. Any way to fix it?

Nov 19, 2010I can't seem to list them by time/date received. They are scattered everywhere and it makes sorting them seem kind of hard! Is there a way to fix this or is there something wrong with my Droid?

Motorola Droid :: UD 10 Listed On ROM Manager/ Is It Official?
Apr 13, 2010Here is the reason for my confusion. There were a lot of back and forth between UD team and Koush with UD 9.8. Ultimately UD withdrew from ROM manager and Koush put up an "unofficial" version of it on ROM manager. Today the UD 10 is now listed on the ROM manager. Is it official? There was a thread about this on DF but the mods closed it with statement" in light of today's events the thread is closed and all comments deleted". So what is going on if anyone knows?

Apr 24, 2010I tried searching, but couldn't find anything about my question. My Droid came with Facebook preinstalled. Since the latest update for AppBrain, the list of updates available shows an update for Facebook. However, when I go to instal the update I am taken to the main install page. As if I didn't have Facebook installed already. When I got to the app manager in settings, Facebook is not listed as an installed app. Anyone know what is going on? Can I just download the marketplace Facebook app and not worry about there being two instances of Facebook on my system?

Aug 20, 2010all my contacts are google contacts with several linked to Facebook accounts.When I access my contacts through the People widget, all's good, I only see the google contacts (I've deselected Facebookers in the view menu). However when I access the Messages widget all my contacts are doubled up for some reason. I realise this list is also showing facebook contacts as well as google contacts but even the non-facebook contacts are doubled up.

Dec 16, 2009I use a Google Apps e-mail address (i.e. it's tied to my domain) and GMail can work with this fine, but when I tried to purchase something from the Market it said it can't use this and I need a googlemail e-mail. I have one so I entered that, but now I want to use one I have set up especially for this purpose but I can't see how to change this relationship. If I stick a different SIM in, the Market now asks me to confirm the account password but it won't let me change the actual address. I'm running 1.5 on a T-Mobile Pulse.

I already asked a similar questions about retrieving contact's nickname here, but if I change that code to query the mail, like that:

Interesting is that it seems to query fine. Logcat prints out the contact's name:

How am I able to retrieve the name?
Syntax Error is caused by missing quotes, but cursor returns null anyway.
General :: Droid 4 - Mail Apps / Restore All Email Messages Viewable Into Inbox
Apr 1, 2012I am relatively new to Android. Just got a Droid 4. As part of the setup, I added my gmail accounts. On the regular web interface, I have about 20 labels (folder) to archive the old messages. Then, I also had about 80 messages left in the inbox. Five days later, all of a sudden, I only have 1 message (a chat converted info a message 2 months ago) left in the inbox. Everything else in the inbox is gone. If I use the gmail app on the phone, that's what I see as well.
However, if I use the "mail" app on the phone, I am still seeing all the messages originally in the inbox. And the inbox is associated with my gmail account.
Now, comes the question: how can I restore all the email messages viewable by the "mail" app back into the inbox viewable by the "gmail" app, which is also the inbox in the web interface on my computer?

Apr 30, 2010I am using the HTC mail app, to get emails from a Gmail account, which gets messages from a POP3 account. In Gmail online, I can send all messages as being sent from the Pop3 account. I cannot figure out how to do this with the HTC mail account, which makes it pretty useless. Anyone else using HTC mail and receiving and sending from different accounts? I've tried changing the outgoing server stuff, but I keep getting failed message sent errors.

Jul 22, 2010I tried to set up my pop3 e-mail on my phone last night and I keep getting a "username or password is incorrect" error message on my incoming email. I am able to send e-mail from the phone.The funny thing is that if I check my email from my PC and empty any e-mail's that are in my inbox, then try to check for new e-mail's with my DroidX (knowing that there are none) I do not get any errors.The errors only occur when there are e-mails in my inbox.Didn't have any problems with this setup with the incredible.

Apr 20, 2010I started receiving lots of rejected emails from my gmail.com account this evening... looks as though my phone (HTC Desire / Android 2.1) has been sending out bogus emails... no subject, just a link to a website ...

Its sent a different website to each section of my addressbook, so as not to have too many recipients on each outgoing email... some of the other emails reference different sites ... I've no idea what's caused this...assume it must be an app that's been installed. I've installed the free AV on my phone from the google market (orange/white capsule). I've fixed all the reported errors...
Guess I wanted to know if anyone has seen this before... I'm worried the O/S may now be compromised and i'll need to start from scratch. If anyone can provide any advice and / or pointers to diagnostic/security tools it would be most welcome.

Everything's working great except I can't get GAL Lookup (Global Address List) to work. Mail's downloading just fine, Calendar sync's great and Contact sync's good.. but that critical moment when you want to shoot off an urgent note to an office colleague & can't remember his email handle... bummer! Stuck!
Strangely, in NexusOne when I had to rely on Touchdown by Nitrodesk, the Address Lookup worked just fine...
HTC bug perhaps? Of all the issues, I think this is Desire's biggest.
Motorola Droid :: Sending / Receiving Messages 3 Times - Deleting Messages
Dec 11, 2009So I was using my the handcent sms app on my Droid today and all a sudden the person i was sending messages to was receiving the messages 3 times. Then all a sudden when i went back to text someone else my whole thread was gone and all my messages had been deleted. Then I try using the stock messaging app and obviously all my threads are deleted but messages send twice, any suggestions?

Dec 28, 2009I tried the steps above, and it didn't work. I then compared it to the steps on the other link, and there it says to do mtdblock4, not mtdblock3
So I typed mtdblock4 instead, and I rebooted from the adb shell in the computer.
The boot animation went fine, and then when I got to my homescreen, I freaked out!
It is all black. Instead of the unlock button, there is a green button with an airplane symbol on it. It says NO SERVICE.
The bar IS transparent, but it has these weird symbols on it, not the normal ones.
AND, to make it worse, EVERYTHING is force closing. I'm getting messages after messages of force closing. NOTHING works.
I can't even pull down the notification bar to get mount my sdcard in order to delete the .apk file from there. All these stupid force close messages keep propping up.
Also, it says that the date is Wednesday, December 31 (the 31 is a thursday, though), and it has a time of 6 hours from now.
NOW,
I am actually still in debugging mode, and I still have access to adb shell.
IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO? I'M FREAKING OUT HERE!
(Why oh why did I have to root my beautiful Droid! I think I killed it!)
General :: Way To Have Text Messages Forwarded To Email Address As Backup?
Jan 4, 2012I did a quick search and didn't find any posts relating to text message limits.I have what I believe is a Motorola Droid 1 (How do I find out for sure?) using Verizon as my carrier.
I was told that any text message sent to me that is larger than the standard 160 characters, would be split up into two or more messages. This is not happening on my phone, and I'm wondering if this is an OS problem, phone problem, or if I just need to call Verizon to have them investigate?
I have gotten several texts that were cut off, never to receive the rest of the message.Also, is there a way to have text messages forwarded to an email address as a backup?
