View 6 RepliesUp til now I've only loaded Fab's themed ROMs that have the kernels baked in. I'm getting ready to try Bugless Beast .8 with a smoked glass theme and AdamZ Kernel. Both the theme and ROM are .zip files. The Kernel is a .img. Do they all flash thru clockwork the same as one of Fab's ROMs? Do I need to do anything with that kernel.img file (rename, unpack, whatever)? Of course, beforehand I'll do a full format of boot, sys, cache, and, data...

I am able to restore previous backups but even when I do that I still have the same issue of not being able to flash a theme or rom. That is using rom manager or manually.
I am currently on the leaked 2.2 kernel. Will I have any issues if I flash 2.2 sbf to update kernel / software?

I currently have bekit 1ghz kernet installed, but I was interested in trying out some other kernels. Can I just install them via Rom Manager over the first kernel? Or is there some kind of uninstall process I should use first?

How i can directly reboot into recovery and flash a .zip file via script for terminal emulator?
I think you know the ROMManager, you can download updates there, it automatically reboots into recovery and flashes without asking the .zip file, how can i realize that via script for the terminal emulator? cuz i want to create a updater for my and my friends roms
I have an AT&T Atrix 4G and I wanted to imstall CM7.2.
I had the latest Atrix Android version on it. Then I followed the instruction at the cyanogemod wiki for the atrix. So I flashed the sbf (cyanodenmod wiki -> Motorola_Atrix_4G:_Full_Update_Guide).
The rsd lite flashing didn't succeed because the atrix rebooted and the programm couldn't switch into BP passtrougth, or so. At this point the device said something about 0x1000 no bootloader, but I could choose between rsd, fastboot and the other possibilities.
I booted into the fastboot mode and did an oem unlock. Now it says unlocked.
I booted again into the fastboot mode, and now it should be a simple
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recover.img
But:
Windows) it always says:
Code:
sending 'recovery' (4824 KB)... OKAY [ 0.453s]
writing 'recovery'... FAILED (status read failed (Too many links))
after that the device reboots and is in a boot loop
so i tried linux) The first time i tried the command everythings worked fine, but after reboot i chose.
Code:
android recovery mode, but after a while (secs) the device rebooted.
so went to fastboot again, but now the device reboots after the sending command and then it says writing failed because of no device
I don't know if when I am using rsd lite to flash a complete image the phone reboots again and i have a hard brick.
So right now I'm running Aloysius Snow, and I can only overclock to 710. Is there a way to "flash-over" a different kernel so that I can overclock to say, 768?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a question for someone more tech savvy than myself. I am rooted and downgraded the Hboot because I was a leaker. ;-) I am wondering if it is possible to only update the Kernel and not flash a whole ROM? The reason I ask this is I would like to enable over clocking with just the stock Eris 2.1. Can you flash just a new Kernel?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI did a search and found no information on a similar situation. Here's what happened. I recently rooted via unrevoked 3.21, then flashed a stock rooted rom, by OMJ, his most recent ROM. I ran the phone for a day with that ROM and kernel that it came with, and everything was working good, battery life seemed good for the day. Well, I decided to flash the 4.19 netarchy kernel this evening, and after doing so, the phone got stuck in bootloop, and I had to do a battery pull. TO flash the kernel, I did this: flashed from clockwork recovery to RA 1.8. Wiped cache, wiped dalvik cache, flashed kernel from SD card, rebooted phone. Then it was just stuck in bootloop, endlessly rebooting. I pulled battery after about 25 minutes, and rebooted into Recovery, which was RA at this point. I wiped all data, cache, davlik. flashed the OMJ ROM again, flashed the netarchy kernel, rebooted. same thing. Pulled battery again, rebooted to recovery, wiped data, cache, davlik. Flashed ROM, no Kernel this time. Booted fine. went into ROM manager, flashed back to clockwork. booted to recovery. wiped data, cache, davlik. restored nandroid backup from earlier today.....

I don't know how to flash a new ROM, and I don't wanna risk making a brick f my phone. I've been reading a lot about some custom ROMs for Galaxy Y Pro Duos, but some doubts remain:
1) I've read about a compact Kernel for this phone. Should I update/ change the kernet?
2) Should I try to restore the stock ROM? Or should I go for one of the two custom ROMs I've found for B5512?
What are the advantages of putting these custom ROMs?
3) (1st kernet then ROM?) What should I do to the phone so it doesn't reboot twice a day, as it is rebooting nowadays?
how to root and flash it??? I buy it and i would like to install JellyBean 4.1
Version: 2.3.6
i9100GXXKL4
kernel v: 2.6.35.7 dpi@DELL164 #2
VErsion: GINGERBREAD.XXLB1
I have a problem with bluetooth connections:
I'm using a HTC Desire, rooted and flashed with a ROM from Alex-V Android Version 2.3.3 with the 2.6.35.8 Kernel.
I have two bluetooth devices:
MM100 Stereo Headset from Sennheiser
BT-Version: 2.0 + EDR
Protocolls: HSP, HFP, A2ADP, AVRCP
and the Hands free car kit Parrot MK6000 BT-Version: 1.2 Protocolls: HSP, HFP, AADP, AVRCP
I can pair both devices with my Desire and the latest paired device would connect automatically to audiosystem for media and telefone when switched on. The problem is, that the first paired device would not connect automatically to my desire and when it is connected manually it would only connect to the audiosystem for media not telefone. I can't force it to connect with audiosystem for telefone. I checked and un-checked the check-boxes for both connections in every combination
Remark: I don't want to connect both devices at the same time. I know that this is not working
With the original HTC Rom I doesn't had this problem. Both devices would pair and connect perfect.
All the new features sites said Flash 10 was part of Driod 2.2. 2.2 was pushed to my phone overnight and I installed it. However when I go to the Adobe Flash showcase, it says I don't have flash installed. So I search the market place and do not see flash as a download. Is this just something that will come later? I really don't read up on Driod all the time so I don't know all the news, just a regular user.

So I wanted to know if anyone wanted to do some testing with them, to see if you can get them running on the ROM you are running. Maybe we will be able to make fun of iDevices earlier, because Droid Does what iDont
