How i can directly reboot into recovery and flash a .zip file via script for terminal emulator?
I think you know the ROMManager, you can download updates there, it automatically reboots into recovery and flashes without asking the .zip file, how can i realize that via script for the terminal emulator? cuz i want to create a updater for my and my friends roms

I have an AT&T Atrix 4G and I wanted to imstall CM7.2.
I had the latest Atrix Android version on it. Then I followed the instruction at the cyanogemod wiki for the atrix. So I flashed the sbf (cyanodenmod wiki -> Motorola_Atrix_4G:_Full_Update_Guide).
The rsd lite flashing didn't succeed because the atrix rebooted and the programm couldn't switch into BP passtrougth, or so. At this point the device said something about 0x1000 no bootloader, but I could choose between rsd, fastboot and the other possibilities.
I booted into the fastboot mode and did an oem unlock. Now it says unlocked.
I booted again into the fastboot mode, and now it should be a simple

after that the device reboots and is in a boot loop

I don't know if when I am using rsd lite to flash a complete image the phone reboots again and i have a hard brick.
I need to flash a file that locks the bootloader. It contains Aroma Installer. Is there a way to flash it without booting into recovery? Something linke an app that flashes the file directly from the phone?
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy Gnex has started to loop on boot screen and then reboot (Slimbean 4.3 update 2). I tried to wipe cache partition , to wipe dalvik cache, to flash the same rom, to flash another rom, to delete all data... but nothin happens.. it seems like the recovery (CWM) can't delete anything! if i delete or format anything , nothing happens! but the recovery told me that the process has succedeed.. I tried using Wugfresh toolkit to flash stock and also Odin.. but nothin happens.. I tried some casual commands on ADB, but i'm no good with ADB.

Touch screen or touch buttons also stopped working but the "real" buttons work power off/sound up/down. And the computerdoesnt reaconise the phone.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've recently been getting into more security cautious habits with encryption and what not, due to this whole NSA/Big-brother is watching business... But I have a question (more may pop up as this discussion goes on).I am still getting a hang of all this encryption business. If I go ahead and do a full phone encryption with my GN2 where will I stand as far as backups to Dropbox/Copy/Google Drive/etc.?
I currently have photos and such backing up to copy, and I often move backups made through recovery to Dropbox and such. If I were to have photos automatically sync to copy or move system backups to dropbox wouldn't that render them basically useless as I am assuming they move out of the phone encrypted (not being decrypted as they exit).
The photos would be unusable anywhere besides my phone right? So moving them off my phone to share vacation photos for instance would be impossible, and if my phone were to crash they'd be irretrievable? Making the backup process pointless.
Wouldn't the back up be rendered useless as well, exactly when I might need said backup? If my phone were to ever crash or die for some reason, I would lose the encryption key, would even be able to do a full system restore through the recovery? It would seem that the encryption key wouldn't be kept with those back up files, so while it might place everything back in its correct place, it would still be unreadable. Or does it maybe keep the key in system files somewhere so that a full backup would restore the key as well?
I am also under the impression that I would not be able to flash through custom recovery either as the internal SD would be inaccessible from the recovery being it doesn't have the encryption key. I am currently running OmniROM and it is in a nightly stage still for my phone. I wouldn't be able to update nightly would I? I am assuming since it basically flashes/overwrites system each time, that I would be losing my encryption key and making everything besides system unusable then right?
And what about downloading ROMs to flash/update directly to my phone? As I download them from in browser or another app and they go to the default /downloads folder they would be encrypted. They wouldn't be accessible from there in recovery, but if I were to try and move them out of internal SD to the external SD they would retain encryption and still be inaccessible? So the only way to download ROMs and updates would be from PC and only move them to the external SD?
Any app that allows you to download and convert flash video directly on your Android device? If I knew how to develop android apps I would attempt this myself. I use youtube downloader on firefox and was wondering if there was a similar app for that on Android.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to make a clean hard reset of my GoClever Tab R974.2 but no matter what I do it won't load the bootloader. I tried all pssible combinations of all 3 abailable buttons (power,vol+,vol-) and all possible pressing times from a few seconds to a minute.I also tried rebooting into bootloader via the ADB but without any luck (device not recognized).My main problem with this system is that I tried to root it and it seemed like it worked, the superuser .apk was installed, however when I tried to start Titanium backup or any other prog that requires root access, it shows that there is no root access. Then I also tried z4root, but no luck either and SuperOneClick just freezes when restaring the ADB daemon.

in order to flash the CM9 ROM. Problem is I can NOT reboot into recovery no matter what I do it seems. When I try tp reflash the CWM recovery it tells me "successfully installed!" then when I press 'reboot into recovery" it gets stuck on the LG logo for so long I often have to hold the power button to go back to my device. I even download "recovery flasher utility" found here [URL]....but, whenever I run the app it tells me "no recovery.img" found onexternal SDCARD even though I placed it there! I tried to fastboot but whenever I run CMD it tells me " 'fastboot is not recognized."

many people say that we cant access the stock recovery on galaxy ace plus because it have some bugs or something else.. now i found the way how to do that
just follow the simple guide how to do that :
1. reboot it using volume + and volume - ~> home button ~> power button
2. click and hold both volume button then the home button then the power button..
3. if the phone gets turned on so u need to keep hold that button until the recovery showed up (when it showed up and its get turned off again so u need to hold all the button again until it get rebooted to recovery)
4.if u get rebooted all time its not a big problem again .. all u need is just hold all that button until the phone gets turned on and release the power off button and hold it again until u boot it on recovery mode.. and done u booted up on recovery mode (im not responsible if ur phone gets bootloop or something else)

I have tried to root this phone using Gingerbreak, Revolutionary, Z4root, and a few others. When I search on Google or the XDA website I can't find absolutely anything about an HTC Acquire. It's like the internet thinks the phone doesn't exist? I recently upgraded to it from my HTC Desire CDMA Bravo-c that I had rooted, flashed a custom rom, custom kernel, custom radio, the works.
I am using APP Inventor, but it put my question as general from Android. How can i directly download a file from WEB without the browser try to open it.
I i put a url like: privatesite.blablabla/image.jpg
He will put the image in the browser, because browser can load the file and show it on screen, but i want to download it without reading it.
I need that to put inside App inventor, but if it's possible to do it in HTML or other, that's ok, i think i can make app inventor run an external application.
My friend have a ChiliGreen tablet, yesterday he reboot it after stop all application who were running on it and after the reboot the tablet goes automaticaly in recevery mode and now every time he reboot it goes to recovery mode i make a factory reset but nothing always recovery mode.
View 2 Replies View Relatedwhy my hosts file gets reset after a reboot no matter whether I change with adaway or adblock or if I manually replace the hosts file myself and set to read only. Have searched about and only solution I read about was get a custom kernel. Although I am already on a custom kitkat ROM and using dorimanx kernel for galaxy s2. Also never had problems with hosts resetting on jb or ICS. Even creating a symlink to data/data/hosts doesn't work. On reboot the symlink just gets replaced with the original useless hosts file.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an Allwinner A10 clone (Kurio 7), it is designed for kids but otherwise a standard android tablet. After hours of googling I rooted and installed CWM & Gapps (not included in the stock ROM). So far so good. The stock ROM was causing issues with some apps, it needed to go.
I flashed CM10 and it worked but no touch screen. It needed a compatibility flash to make it work. You can guess what's coming. I picked the wrong one and now the device does the following:
Reboot loop
Black screen (backlight though)
PWR+Vol up no longer gets to recovery
Vibrates constantly between reboots (due to wrong patch I'm guessing)
ADB picks up the device for a split second between reboots but "adb reboot recovery" does nothing. Even when using wait command. Tried "fastboot flash recovery cwm.img" after wait command, no luck. Is there anything else I can try?
I have a Nabi 2 tablet that I've rooted, installed TWRP, and flash the gapps and a few other tweaks to. It's about to go in for an RMA since the USB and charging ports are both broken. The problem in the USB port is that one of the pins got bent - I don't know how, it looks like the conductor somehow got peeled back off of the plastic. The point is, I have no USB access to the device.
In order to pass the inspection for the RMA, I need to have it stock I can flash the stock ROM by putting it on the SDCard in my laptop then transferring that to the device and flashing it through TWRP. The question I have, though, is whether I can flash the stock recovery with ADB access to it. Every thread I've been able to uncover so far about flashing a recovery requires ADB access to issue the "adb fastboot flash" command. Is there another way to do this?
I tried to flash CWM Recovery but when the 'confirm your device' menu popped up, my phone wasn't there so i just selected the first one on the list. Now when i try to reboot into recovery, nothing happens. It just boots up normally. how to either flash stock recovery or a custom recovery that will work?

I hit the top button. Flash Clockworkmod recovery or what ever it said. I then backed up my Current ROM. I then downloaded Cyanogen v6.0.0 cr2. It downloaded and rebooted my phone. But It went to a screen with a Triangle w/ exclamation and a phone under it. I then hit the up vol button and camera, and now I'm at the Android system recovery page and I don't know what to do next. These are my options reboot system now apply sdcard:update.zip wipe data/factory rest wipe cache partition wipe base band data. I did click to backup current ROM and wipe data and cache.
