Is there anyway or any hack out there, perhaps an app, that allows you to send any length of video from your email to another email address? most of my videos are larger than 20MB and my gmail app won't send since it's too large. this would be great

Question about Stock Mail (not gmail) app. First - I am rooted running Fresh 1.1 Rom. I have noticed that my mail client does not send/receive mail on it's set schedule. Sometimes it will check if the phone is awake, but otherwise it could sit in my pocket sleeping for three hours and never once send/receive.
View 5 Replies View RelatedHere's the deal - the Gmail app was working perfectly for me, but I wanted to use the HTC email client. I had my account set up on both, with 15 minute polling on the HTC client, and this worked fine. However, I wanted push email while using this client, so I set up Exchange activesync using m.google.com for my gmail account.
I noticed almost constant activity from the activsync, the phone got quite hot in a short time, and the battery drained at an amazing rate.
So I decided I didn't need ativesync, and I deleted the account. This is when the problem started. My gmail app now refuses to send out any email. When I try, it says "sending" in red, but it never does.
What are my options?
I have a *.doc file and want to send it to an e-mail address. It seems impossible using gmail app and dropbox (even tried renaming it to *.mp3, *.jpg, etc.) or browser (both built in and skyfire). Is there an application that would let me send said file to an e-mail address as an attachment?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using the HTC mail app, to get emails from a Gmail account, which gets messages from a POP3 account. In Gmail online, I can send all messages as being sent from the Pop3 account. I cannot figure out how to do this with the HTC mail account, which makes it pretty useless. Anyone else using HTC mail and receiving and sending from different accounts? I've tried changing the outgoing server stuff, but I keep getting failed message sent errors.

Once the computer on the other side answers, the cell phone sends all the correct codes, including the number where I wish my forwarded calls to go.With my newly bought HTC Hero (Sprint), this doesn't seem to work, because the automatically dialed tones are much too fast and too short. I've tried putting a "P" (for pause) between each digit, but it doesn't help.Other cell phones provide way to select between short and long tones, but apparently the Hero does not.Is there a way to slow down the dialing string so that it can be read by the phone company's computer? Obviously, I could manually key in each digit, but that's really not a good solution.

Now, the app won't retrieve mail from my account. I am looking at my mail app, and dont see the new mail that I am seeing when viewing my in box on my computer. I find the slide bar to be cumbersome because the bar is only there when you touch the screen and the letters on the slide bar only show up one by one as you slide the bar down. The behaviour I am seeing is the Email intent handling the attachment of the jpeg from the sdcard but dealing with it as a 0 length file which is discarded when sent. I have tried setType as jpeg/image and image/jpeg as I have seen it expressed both ways....................

Now she wants to change the master email address to her new gmail account. So far I got the "mail" app to transfer into the new account. However when we go to google talk it still shows her as signed in on her old account. Is there an easy fast way to change the master email address without having to do a factory reset? On my old phone, there was an alphabetical slide bar, so that I could jump to any letter in my contacts. I have called Sprint like 8 times and was told it was a known problem with the HTC Hero. I asked if it possibly had anything to do with the 2.1 upgrade.I was told absolutely not! On the 7th, one operator told me that the upgrade was coming out on the 9th.On the 9th, no upgrade.So I called and was told that it was coming, but unsure when, but still unrelated.Called again this Monday, still a known unrelated issue. I was offered a service credit if $35.00. Called today and spoke with Operator Pamela. She told me that it is a known problem and would be fixed with the 2.1 update.She said it was suppose to come out on the 9th but got pushed to the end of the month.Keep checking sprint.com/download.

When I do this, the chooser comes up and gives all kinds of choices, for anything that can handle text/plain i assume, because there's stuff in there that doesn't support "e-mail". How can I make it so that it will only show applications that support email (gmail, mail, yahoo mail, etc...) and not stuff like "Bluetooth", "Facebook", etc...
My address book is all over the place! I am coming from a BB curve 3300, i had my contact list with numbers and emails within same field per person. When the address book was transfered over to my Hero, i received 3 to 4 different fields per person! How can i fix tihs without having to manually go in and delete 3 of the 4 fields and enter email, cell numbers to one of the contact?

I've only been an Android/HTC Hero user for about a week now, and have a weird thing happening with my Hero. I've probably done something to cause this, but, I can't figure it out.
I have several contacts in my People list, and most of them have multiple phone numbers listed with them. When I choose People, and then say my sister, who has two mobile numbers, a work number and a home number, I get a small detailed card that pretty much fills the screen and allows me to choose a number to call mobile, call home, call work, then it says send message to each number, send email.
But, say when I choose my wife, I can only Call Other, Edit Contact, Delete Contact and Send Contact as vCard.
It didn't used to do this. It used to give me these choices for my wife too. My wife has a home number, a cell number, a truck number, I need to be able to text her cell, etc. Basically, I need the same options for her as I have for my sister.
I have the same issue with many of my contacts. I don't know what happened to cause this. Any help fixing this would be much appreciated. Hopefully, I won't have to do a master reset to do so!
