I have 3 gmail accounts setup on the phone and if i am in the browser on in an app and click a link to send an email through gmail it will compose the message from the email account that was last open. How can i make it so that i can select which 3 of my accounts i want to send from? is it possible?

Anywho, I want to go into Gmail, compose a new email, and be able to select contacts (or even have the app provide a look-ahead list based on what I type). This is exactly how the Gmail app for my Blackberry 8830 worked so I don't understand why there seems to be less functionality no an Android phone. In any case, it seems that no matter what, all I can do is manually type in email addresses. Also, I know I can go into Contacts (People) and select a person's email. This brings up a menu option to email using Gmail or my Exchange email account. This in't good enough because all I can do is open a new email to one person this way. What if I want to email 10 people!?

I have two exchange accounts configured in the EMAIL application. When I view the unified inbox and compose a new email, I am unable to select the non-default FROM address (clicking the FROM address does nothing). In order to send an email from the non-default, I have to enter the inbox for that account THEN compose a new email - requires several more clicks than necessary.
I have asked several friends and some say they do have this option - however they are all on carrier customized roms.
I am using the HTC mail app, to get emails from a Gmail account, which gets messages from a POP3 account. In Gmail online, I can send all messages as being sent from the Pop3 account. I cannot figure out how to do this with the HTC mail account, which makes it pretty useless. Anyone else using HTC mail and receiving and sending from different accounts? I've tried changing the outgoing server stuff, but I keep getting failed message sent errors.

So, with some investigating we found that K-9 Mail Beta is no long a beta version. It's just "K-9 Mail", version 2.000. And it isn't as robust as the beat version. What's up with that?
Better backup your old beta version if you like it. And don't update to the new until they get that mess straightened out.
when attaching a picture onto a txt message, once the select picture page shows up it force closes me saying the process android.process.media has stopped unexpectedly it does this everytime! its becoming a pain tryin to attach pictures onto txt messages. anyone else having this problem?

View 3 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know if the X can "remember" a sent email address? My iPhone/BB both did this, but I cant tell if there is an option for this here.
For example, if I email an address thats not in my contacts, the next time I try to email that address I have to type out the entire address again, whereas with my iPhone or BB it would remember my sent addresses and I could just select them, even if they werent in my contacts.
Also I see no option to never delete from server. If I download email from my POP account onto my phone, will I still be able to get that on my PC when I get to my office? If I delete it as well?

I don't really know a whole lot about POP3 and IMAP etc. One thing I did notice is that when using Microsoft outlook at school everything works fine. But when I go home I can still receive messages but cant send them. I am thinking its because my IP address isn't one on campus and that messes up something with the servers?

The gmail app works great for my gmail and the 3 accounts I access through it for personal email. The other email account will go hours without checking and unless I open it and refresh it won't get them at all. I have it set to check every 5 min.
I am wondering if it has something to do with advanced task killer? I have added "email" to the ignore list but I am not sure if that will do the trick.
I keep getting messages in my hotmail in box saying that I have new mail when in fact I have already read the email. This seems to happen every time I delete mail when I go to hotmail on the web. For instance, I just deleted 1 email on the web then a few minutes later my phone is saying I have 7 unread messages from last week that I already read and kept on the phone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was under whelmed with the email client which handles POP3 (hotmail, yahoo, verizon, etc.) accounts, and was looking for an "Outlook Mobile" type client, coming from my Moto Q. The stock client just seems to limited, aside from having some issues. Looking around, I came across the K9 Mail client and found that it was available in the Android Market. Its only been installed for a few minutes but in checking the settings/features, its much more robust than the stock client. Many more check intervals, options to set default number of messages, delete from server on delete option. The only caveat on install stated that it may have issues with Hotmail (i.e. Plus or paid accounts may have connection issues) but my basic free Hotmail came thru fine.
Text is much easier to read with the white background, black text and 2 line info display. You can also manage identities, and has more features I don't understand, and probably wont use. With my check interval at 3 hours, I sent a test message from my comcast account (not involved with DROID) just now and got some certificate error message from the program (has its own mail folder for errors), when I performed a manual check/sync. I just ran it again and the message came through. I think it may have been SMTP setting issues, but they seem resolved. Based on the the interface and options alone, I think I'll work with this app.
I have a question regarding the mail feature of the Droid. I have three accounts setup. One Gmail, one Yahoo and one Hotmail (yep...I like all flavors).
I can send and receive mail without issue but for some reason with the Yahoo and the Hotmail account, the Droid will seem to pull "old" email back onto the device and mark it as new and light up the indicator. This gives then shows that I have new mail but it really isn't new but it is old, previously read email that has been deleted and pulled back onto the device.
For those who are having a problem with the email program not going out to get your mail, delete automatic task killer. I am sure there is refrence to this in other posts. I just keep seeing it pop up here and there. I removed mine and it started getting my mail every 5 min just like I told it to. Dang I love this phone!

I'm a newbie to this forum, and hope someone can help. Have had the Captivate for almost a month now and am plagued by an annoying problem. I have set up email accounts connecting to a google-hosted email account via IMAP. I am finding that when replying to a received email, my reply goes out with redundant repetitions of the email address on the "to" line. Example: Email from soandso@gmail.com arrives. I click "reply" on the phone and the reply goes out to soandso@gmail.com; soandso@gmail.com; soandso@gmail.com; soandso@gmail.com etc etc *10 times*, instead of just once. It also copies me about 10 times! Is anybody else seeing this? I use this for work emails, so it looks very unprofessional like I am trying to spam my clients! I have another couple of days before my 30-day return period is up, so hopefully someone else know how to fix this. Is there some setting I am overlooking?

I have no trouble revieving email through the email setup not Gmail but there is no provision for an address book or contacts list for sending emails. I Googled around and found K-9 Email and went to Google Apps to download it and upon tapping the download button a message came up stating "no devices found". The Nexus7 is running Jellybeen 4.2.1.

When I do this, the chooser comes up and gives all kinds of choices, for anything that can handle text/plain i assume, because there's stuff in there that doesn't support "e-mail". How do I select the standard default greeting for my sprint voice mail? the standard greeting Im referring to is the default we always hear with the female electronic voice"...u have reached the voice mail box of ###-###-####.....". A couple of nights ago I was prompted to enter (record) my own "greeting" and now I cant find the option to revert back to the default one. I tried all the options after calling my own voice mail but cant seem to find the default greeting option. View 7 Replies View RelatedI use a Google Apps e-mail address (i.e. it's tied to my domain) and GMail can work with this fine, but when I tried to purchase something from the Market it said it can't use this and I need a googlemail e-mail. I have one so I entered that, but now I want to use one I have set up especially for this purpose but I can't see how to change this relationship. If I stick a different SIM in, the Market now asks me to confirm the account password but it won't let me change the actual address. I'm running 1.5 on a T-Mobile Pulse.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded from a five year old phone, so apologies in advance. The geeks at Best Buy set up my email for me which works fine (after multiple trips back to the store). Except that I can't figure out how to do a couple of things. 1. Is there a way to select and delete multiple emails on the phone and 2. How do I get rid of all my spam mail that comes in on the laptop (and gets filtered out there). Do I have to set up some kind of email push program so that the email comes in from my computer (already filtered) instead of from the server? You can see my learning curve is steep.........
