Does anybody else notice at times their internet connection hanging? It will sometimes partially load a page and then not respond for minutes after. I end up force closing the browser, waiting a few minutes and then trying again.

I've had WiFi tethering for awhile now, but I have never got it to work properly. The problem is that I will have, say, my laptop, or any device for that matter, connected to my Droid and I am able to maintain a steady internet connection for about a minute. After that, the tethering application reports a download speed of 0.0kbps. If I disconnect my laptop (or other device) and reconnect it, it'll start to work again, but only for about another minute. Any ideas as to why this is happening?

I've been following a guide on androidauthority.
It all goes swimmingly until Odin3 hangs at SetupConnection.
So far to try and rectify this problem I have reinstalled the Samsung USB drivers and have tried using different versions of Odin3 (v1.85 and v1.87) all to no avail.
I'm running Windows Vista in VitualBox on Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS and have checked all the relevant settings and Windows can acess my USB ports/connected devices so I'm confident that it's not a problem with VirtualBox.

here is my problem. It seems that every once in a while my phone will hang up for about 10-20 seconds at the google search screen. It's not the end of the world but it gets a bit irritating at times. Is there a way to fix this problem or is it just something I have to deal with?

I don't go a day without using it and I'm still trying to get everything customized to my liking. However I have had one issue since I received my phone. I seem to be hanging up on people with my face or either my phone is dropping calls like crazy. I took it in to the verizon store and the lady there had no idea what to do. My phone calls just end mid conversation with someone and I don't know if it's my face or if my droid x is dropping calls. It doesn't say anything like "call was lost" like it did on my old phone.

Sometimes when I'm using the Internet, it'll say say I have a 3G or H Connection but doesn't load anything? The issue it's having is that even though the tablet is connected to the internet none of the apps (play store, YouTube, etc) will connect. They all say 'no internet connection'. The only way I know the tablet is actually connected to Wi-Fi is that the internet browser still works. This might be unrelated to the issue but every single website I go to it gives me the warning 'Security warning: There are problems with the security certificate for this site'. Sometimes I will have to hit cancel 10 times before the warning goes away.

It usually corrects itself when I reboot but then happens again after some time. This happens when using both the dolphin and skyfire browsers. I have a non-rooted Desire (Swiss Sunrise) and I updated to 2.2. I'm going on a week's holiday soon and I wanted to see if my Irish sim would work in my phone because the data roaming rates with Sunrise are extortionate (13.90 Swiss francs per megabyte!). However this code runs well when I connected to either the operator internet Or to a Wi-fi network. But when I'm connected to the operator but without credit and no internet the mobile also sees it as there's internet,or even connected to a Wi-fi network but without internet gateway it also sees as if it's connected to the internet.
What is the simplest way to check whether my app can access the internet? I am using some APIs that use the internet, but they crash if there is no connectivity. So I just want to check if there is internet access by any means.
