Motorola Droid 2 :: Installed Stealth Guard And Screen Went Black

I got the Stealth Guard for my son's D2 and I followed the instructions wetting my fingers and the adhesive sode of the plastic. After installing, the screen died and is on but no lights work on the phone to backlight it at all. I powered it off and told him to give it the night... but do you think I ruined the phone now? I'm really upset that I may have ruined my boys new phone. Please tell me that this is something that self fixes!

I have seen threads on the best screen protector, and I have some of my own conclusions. I have had every single one I am listing, I have used them each for about 1 month to 2 months, so I know what I am talking about. Here they are. With each one, at the end I will include scores ranging from 0-5. And the overall, average of each one. Grip- How well each one is set down on something and able to remain put during a drive or something, and how it feels in the hands.
Screen Feel- How close and nice it feels to the screen. Protection/Scratch Test- How it preforms to the normal keys in the pocket and nails etc, hitting the screen and phone. Price- Worth the price paid? How well of a deal it is. Installation- How easy it was. Overall- The average of the 5. Background= All were installed using Zagg Spray. I used each for about 1-2 Months Each. I only bought the Full Body Protection. The Zagg Cost me 19.99 for one. The Phantomz Skinz cost me 25 for Two. And Stealth Guard cost me 9.99 for TWO. Is there a way to draw on or modify the key guard wallpaper programmatically?It looks simple enough for the home wallpaper, you can use WallpaperManager. But how about for the lock screen wallpaper?

Hope I said the color right. Tried to find something on the web (asked the seller) etc. but I bought myself ecell mirror screen guard (says on the package invisibleGUARD) It makes the screen almost from every angle and distance violet (Violet stripes). Its no usable for me. White is mostly violet and some colors get too strange like that (Makes my eyes hurt like I would use an old CRT).
Wanted to ask if thats normal and will go away when I dont know what or when . Or thats how it should behave standard (if so wont use a screen protector)? Another question which might have been answered here. Has the HTC Hero (not sprint) also a glass screen making it irrelevant to put any protector anyway? Thanks for any answer and sorry if this was already posted an answered here.

I'm happier than a pig in poo with my Droid 2, the thing is amazing.However, my girlfriend's not so much. She got the deal from Wireless Amazon Beta, where she only paid 39.99.I wasn't able to, wasn't eligible for upgrade and got mine at the store.Anyhow, her phone a couple days in would freeze, the screen would go black, and then it reboots.Now it happens a couple times a day at least.Obviously seems like it's defective, but I'm wondering if anybody else is dealing with the same problem?If so, have you taken into Verizon. what have they told you or done for you?Wondering if she should send this back to Amazon Wireless, or head into a Verizon.And I'm wondering what kind of return/exchange/refurbishing headache were in for.

My screen goes black during phone calls, usually within a few seconds. This is especially annoying when connecting to voicemail. I thought I saw an app for that but now I can't find it. Or is it a setting I can't find?

I was wondering whether the galaxy needs a scratch guard? I haven't yet taken off the samsung screen film yet (lol). I have an ipod touch and I didnt find the need for a scratch guard or screen protective film. I also read that capacitive touch screens are made so as to have easy moving of the finger on the screen. So would a scratch guard reduce its performance? also If i didnt use one, would the screen get any scratches?

Well I managed to get my hands on an X from my local VZW store this morning. First impression of the screen is that it is very washed out when compared to my old Droid. Side by side, the original Droid shows colors very vividly while the Droid X almost looks like it just made it past black and white. Just wanted to get some opinions on the screen from others. I also managed to play with a Samsung Vibrant at a T-mobile store and it was very beautiful, almost makes me want to return the X and wait for the fascinate to come out on VZW.

I uninstalled launcher pro to see if I preferred the original interface, and now I only see the top status bar, and nothing else.Turning from normal to landscape still works, so it looks like the phone is working, but the interface is gone.I tried turning the phone on and off again,and get the same issue.I know how short supply they are in, and would REALLY like o get this working again.

When I am talking on my Droid, the screen often goes black and I can only see the screen options by tilting the phone. Even then, I cannot consistently see the call options. Also, when trying to multi-task, the unlock screen pops up and I am not always able to perform multiple tasks because as soon as I perform the unlock motion it goes right back to the lock screen. Suggestions?

I recently rooted my phone and deleted a few stock apps, all of which were on that list of apps that were okay to remove. I just did a hard rest and now when the phone turns on, it just sits at a black home screen. The only thing i can do it hold down search and search the web, seems like from deleting some widgets it messed things up. Any way i can install a new from or something like that?

Are any of you having trouble with this? The sensor doesn't seem to be working the way it should. I have a problem accessing the keyboard during calls to automated services and sometimes the screen won't stay lit long enough for me to end my calls.
Aside from that, my Droid keeps freezing up today. I haven't had any trouble with that before. I've got a week to go before I pass my 30 day trial. I'm not sure what to do. This phone has to be mailed in as I got it online. If there's a way to fix these problems, I'd rather not send it in and wait 3 weeks to receive a new one.

Ive noticed when I put the Droid to my ear to make a phone call... the screen goes black... then it takes a couple seconds when i pull it away for the screen to re-appear.... How do I stop that from happening?

How do you make the task bar at the top of the droids screen a different color. I tried the themes in the market that showed a black taskbar but no luck with any of them actually changing the color of the task bar.

My screen turns black when i wake up my phone. frequent reboots, that it does on it's on, not to mention the lines showing up across my screen. this phone has never been dropped and has a screen protector and case on it. looks like i'll be calling verizon for a replacement - totally unacceptable, but understandable considering it's a new phone.. and it seems these days things are being rushed out the door.

I'm kind of new to Rooting and Roms but I keep getting the same problem while installing Roms using Rom Manager. I flash and then I install the ROM and everything goes well until the boot up screen. It gets stuck in a loop of the Droid and Droid Eye animation and I have to restore it. Can anyone help me figure out what's wrong? I am using the Droid with Froyo, rooted using Easy Root.

Alright so I was on froyo stock image frg01b rooted. I tried to install nextheme over it. I tried to go into recovery, but got the exclamation point. Went back into froyo, flash the alternative recovery, then flashed back to clockwork. It goes into recovery fine now.

it hangs on moto logo
Now try to go back into recovery to flash backup. It wont go into CW and now I see an exclamation point. Now I went into the stock recovery menu, wiped data did factory reset. Wiped cache.

What did I do?
I tried putting stock 2.1 on SD and renamed it update.zip and tried to flash with the stock recovery, but it says failed to access /sdcard .zip and then go back to the (stock) recovery menu. Clockword is gone and so is any and all ROMs.

My question is how do I get the weather from when i installed weatherbug back in the notification screen. I ended some tasks and it disappeared and for the life of me I cant figure out how to get it back. I hope im not missing something that is really simple here.

I'm having trouble with one thing on the Cliq - hanging up calls. Since the end call button is on the screen, 2 things keep happening:
- I hang up on someone by mistake, because my cheek touches the button while I'm talking
- By the time I am done talking, the screen has gone black, so I have to hit the menu button to turn the screen back on.. but that takes me back to the home screen, so I have to navigate through to get back to my call and hang up!
Is there some sort of setting or app that could change the end call button to a hard key, like the back button, so we can hang up that way? It would be a tremendous help!

I dropped my phone from a waste level height onto concrete, the phone appears to be in perfect condition but the screen is completely black and unresponsive. I had upgraded the phone, a motorolla Backflip, to Cyanogen 7.1 so it would suck less (still sucks) and what I need to do is somehow fix the screen or maybe view the files somehow from my computer. There was tons of really important school related notes on a notes app I downloaded as well as other really important files. My number one goal is to somehow get these notes or just see them at least in whatever way possible, fixing the phone is not so much of a worry because I already have a replacement. The phone vibrates when it powers up and the LED notification light blinks as it is being charged like its supposed to, the keyboard keys don't light up like they're supposed to and I'm not sure they work, but the home, back, and the other button with the four squares on the front of the phone work and vibrate when tapped but they don't light up either. The phone is clearly on I just can't see it.

The other day I was sending a text message on my phone and after I exited out of Handcent, my home screen was completely black. I thought this might be a fluke so I powered it off and back on and it still came up black. The lock screen will show, but when I unlock the screen, it was showing nothing but black. I was using Lock 2.0 for lock screen and helix for my home. Finally, we were able to get it back working, but I can't for the life of me tell you what we did to get it working again. Has this happened to anyone else? Anyone know what could have caused it and how to prevent it in the future?

I have an HTC Droid Incredible LTE 4 and for the most part it's fabulous...
But when I'm talking on the phone the screen goes black and if I try to unlock it to schedule something in my calendar, etc., the screen just goes black over and over and won't stay active long enough for me to unlock the screen. This is exceedingly frustrating since I can't use any apps when I'm on the phone, and I have to push the button on the top to get the screen to light up at all if I'm on the phone, it doesn't automatically light up if I take it away from my ear to look at something on my phone.

Verizon just sent me my new Eris after mine decided to stop connecting to google. Maybe I never noticed this before, or maybe it is a defect. But, if you go to an all white screen, do you see black pixels spread out evenly like a grid on your screen?

I just recently downloaded the handcent SMS and when I go into settings then custom style it will stay in it for a few seconds then I get a black screen and then it goes back to settings. I can't customize anything, and it does the same when i'm reading my messagse.
