Whenever I view my gallery now I get a force close message and the gallery attempts to restart. After it restarts it crashes again. This is very annoying.I can view photos fine through the file manager.

Very annoying, I have to keep turning the phone on all the time. No its not low batteries, I'm not that stupid. Haven't messed around with the phone at all, firmware or rooting or anything like that.
If their are other threads regarding Android crashing on a minute by minute basis can someone please link. And when I say minute by minute, sometimes it is that bad.
And from what I have seen in other postings; I do appreciate friendly helpful people, however, please save the "Welcome" posts for other people, I just want to get down to business
My Captivate's browser will crash / shut down, upon attempting to launch a web page.
This occurs with random pages, it happens about once out 20 times I go to load any web page.
It does not happen on the all pages, just certain pages. (I've failed to note which pages so far) When it does happen, if I try to open that same web page again again, it crashes. If I immediately try another web page it's fine.
My Captivate is original, w/ver 2.1 Eclair, not rooted (yet) and otherwise operates very well. So far it's the only bug I've had.
HTC Sense is crashing constantly on my EVO. It happens so much the phone is unusable. Multiple reboots do nothing to fix it.I had a couple of 3rd party widgets installed (Gmail count, and SMS count) so I uninstalled them.Now I only have the Clock/Weather widget that came with the phone on the home screen and Sense just keeps crashing. Force close, after force close, after force close.I will have to hard reset if I can't find a solution.I've changed scenes to one of the stock scenes (HTC or Sprint) and it's still crashing.I boot up, swipe back and forth between panels, crash!

I'm not positive, but I think it might have something to do with the background images that I'm attempting to use, as they are not rendered in the preview at all. Is this the appropriate group to discuss the ADT tools? If so, does anyone else have problems getting background images to display?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI realize this may not be a Captivate-only issue, but I thought I'd start here.I only have a few apps going (Beautiful Widgets, Pandora, LaucherPro, few other standards) but I notice my GPS icon has been constantly going today. Not only that, but when I try to use Maps, it always says "Location Unavailable" when I try to get My Location. I have restarted the phone to no avail. Any ideas? Any app that will track what app might be using the GPS? I'm an Android newbie (as of getting the phone yesterday), so please keep that in mind
View 6 Replies View RelatedDay 2, now everytime I try and connect the MTP Application screen pops up, then crashes, then pops up again, then crashes, and continues to do so until I unplug. Has anyone else experienced this and fixed it?
Changing the USB setting to anything else, such as Mass Storage, works fine.
I've tried on Windows 7 and WinXP with the same result. Drivers are already on the computer from the first time.
I love the dolphin browser with the gesture features and pull bookmarks. But it's been crashing and page are loading slow.
View 14 Replies View Relateddid a search and didnt find anything relating to my issue.I installed a program (photofun) and i regret it. i tried it out with one pic and when i went to the gallery to view it, it would just force close when i would scroll.So i uninstalled the program but when i enter the gallery, pick a folder, and try to scroll, then it will force close. cannot scroll at all bcuz it will force close.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to set a wallpaper from my own gallery, it only allows me to select a specific part of the picture. For example on the iphone I could resize the selection to fit the screen as much as I wanted. But the captivate sets a box and i cant make it bigger or smaller to select the entire wallpaper. and also doesn't matter how high res the picture is, it always looks blurry. Unlike the stock wallpapers, they look super sharp and clear. Anyone know what im doing wrong or how to fix it so i can choose to display an entire picture as my wallpaper rather than just a small portion?

I love stock one because of its looks and functionality, but it has a seriously hard time loading any images that are even remotely large, let alone displaying thumbnails for them. It just gives up on many images that it should be able to load.Alternatively, a way to make the stock one run better and load all of my images would be greatly appreciated, too.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm a photographer so I have the need for several different folders in my gallery for various reasons. So far the only way I have found to move pics between folders is to go: my files>dcim>folder with pic I want to move>long press>select move>select new folder>select move here. One at a time. Are you kidding me? So my questions are:
1. Is there a quicker and easier way to move several pics to different folders?
2. Is there a way to select a folder before I start taking pics so that all the pics I'm about to take go into that folder?
3. Is there a better gallery out there that allows for all of this if the stock one doesn't?
It really seems like I should be able to quickly and easily do what I want from within the gallery. Like a simple drag and drop type of thing. I will be amazed if this isn't there, but I can't find it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI don't remember how I did it, but I was somehow able to upload all the photos that I've taken with the camera to Picasa. Now I have quite a few videos in there as well, but I do remember a message saying that videos are not supported by Picasa and that only the photos would be uploaded. I'm now trying to do the same thing, but whenever I choose the entire 'Camera' folder to upload to Picasa, the only 'Share' options are YouTube, Gmail, and Bluetooth. Does anyone know how I may have done that the first time, or a way to sync photos from the gallery to Picasa web albums?

I'll go to open an app like Facebook or Twitter (the official apps, not the 3rd party ones) and after I launch it, it closes back down. No force close message or anything.Is anyone else experiencing this as well? It happens with almost all of my apps. Should I try a Data reset on the phone? Heck if I do that, maybe I'll just load a custom 2.1 rom from SDX. I'll have root then.

Well, I booted into recovery and did a full restore, and now I can get into the OS, but it keeps crashing! It crashes for no reason, apparently and at different times. Ive tried about six games and only a couple of them worked. The others ive tried are not just from one developer but three and they seem to just crash or hang upon loading. They are not graphic heavy and include Hellfire and others similar. Reading other s4 users comments on each game they are playing and enjoying them so it seems im either doing something wrong or my phone is at fault.

This causes my phone to get very warm and the battery to lose about 1% per minute. In order to get it to stop I have to reboot. I can't figure out what is causing this issue. Well, My mom has had a Moment for some time now. After looking at it today the first thing I noticed that its really slow and constantly force closes. She doesn't know anything about the phone other than its really slow lol.
It appears to of been rooted (I think my cousin rooted it for her) so I guess I need to know what steps I need to take to speed it up and to get it to stop force closing. LMK if I need to provide any more info,
Just got a vibrant and set up my google sync... and now the calendar app constantly crashes. can't make much of the dump file. Tried clearing data. Reinstalling using titanium backup.any ideas on what to do?Can I remove this completely and add the calendar app say from my wife's i9000 Galaxy S?Also, tried adding the calendar widget on Launcher Pro and it started crashing LP constantly too. somehow managed to fix it but had to tap quick before it crashed after restarting itself.Could someone post their titanium backup tar.gz file maybe?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI seem to have noticed when I start the day. Use Astro File Manager's Prcoess Viewer to shutdown every task on my phone to conserve battery. All that is usually left running is Dialer, Android system, and android keyboard. I have used APN droid to shut off the internet and I use the power widget to turn off syncs and GPS. Even so at the end of the day, I check the process manager to see that maps and my uploads are running even though I have not used the phone. I was just wondering if there is a reason for this and if so does it affect battery life?

I saw a lot of people having better performance running GDE, so, I uninstalled open home and that was when all hell broke loose. TWLauncher keeps crashing the phone and I cannot get the phone to a home screen. I tried the recovery mode, but nothing is working. I can't bring it up in adb because I can't get to the settings of the phone to set it up to be seen.
