Motorola DEXT : Can't Surf On Unsecured Networks

Aug 31, 2010

I have a Motorola Dext with Android 1.5, I can connect and surf the Internet with any secured network that requires a password. I can connect to any unsecured network (shown by the blue strippy icon), but can never surf the Internet, always getting an error. Anyone know why I might be able to connect properly to secured networks but not unsecured networks?

Motorola Milestone :: WiFi Connected But Cannot Surf

Sep 27, 2010

Is anyone having issues with WiFi? I am using a WiFi widget to get connected. It shows connected but there isn't a IP assigned to it? Their on the widget shows 0.0.0.0. Any idea what is happening? I've tried countless times to forget the network and re-connect but still this doesn't work. My wife's on iPhone and hers connect seamlessly. Any idea what could be conflicting my connection? I am using WiFi widget by Robert Burger. It's a nice and simple widget and I don't think that is the problem. For connections, I have to disable the WiFi before I can get online.

Android : Need Hot Tip- Talk / Surf Web?

Jan 21, 2010

Tell Luke Wilson's Download the Dialer@Bar app from the Marketplace and you can make/ receive calls while surfing the web using wifi,This app is sweet, mad props to the dev, its free but I will defiantly be donating! Just pull down your notification bar to access phone and contacts. FU At&t, you don't need the app to do this but it makes it much easier because you don't have to exit the web page, just pull down the notification bar.

I know i can WIFI tether, but how can i tether via a USB cable?

What software is required on the PC?

And once i've USB tethered, how do switch to it on the windows machine?

Motorola Droid :: Mobile Networks Status Disabled Always

Jan 26, 2010

I have the following problem with my Milestone (~Droid): the mobile network status is always disabled no matter what I do! I have tried to switch the WI-FI network off, and I have tried to apply the airplane mode (as suggested here: Mobile Network Disabled?? - Droid Forum - Verizon Droid & the Motorola Droid Forum). Nothing helps. Actually, I have never seen the mobile network (3G/H) working on my Milestone since I got it.

I have a SIM card of my local operator, and that same SIM card is working fine on my HTC Hero. So there I can use 3G/H normally. It is also sad that there is no manual switch (I mean an option) in Droid/Milestone to switch the mobile network on/off manually just like in HTC Hero.

LG Ally :: No 3G Icon - Can Only Surf Using Local Wireless Connection

Just out of the blue tonight I lost my 3G. I still get 4 full bars on the signal indicator, but there is no 3G icon and I can only surf using my local wireless connection. Very strange because I was in the middle of downloading a market app when it just disappeared. Can the Verizon towers go out occasionally causing me to lose 3G or do you think something happened to my phone in some way?

Sprint HTC Hero :: Some WiFi Networks Not Available

Jul 16, 2010

I got 2 Sprint HTC Heros 3 wks ago. They work fine with any WiFi network that shows up as available. Other WiFi networks are completely ignored and do not show up in the list of available networks. I installed WiFi Analyzer and it is also prevented from seeing the same "invisible" networks. One WiFi network which does not show up is my home network. Last weekend I was at a B&B in another state and had the same problem with their network. Their network was up and running and visible to other hardware but not to our Heros.

Our home WiFi router is a Linksys WRT110 running WPA-2 Personal AES. There typically are three devices on this network: 2 @ g and 1 @ n. I have seen other WPA-2 Personal networks show up as Available while traveling but have no idea what routers were used. I called Sprint support and eventually got to someone in Tech support who put me on hold after I explained the symptoms. 20 min later the call was dropped. So much for Sprint tech support .

Later on last night and continuing today, it can't find any networks in range. It shows the BeBox as 'remembered' but not in range. Even tho I'm obviously sitting near it. I've rebooted the phone today and no change. I installed the Fonera application yesterday and thought it might be causing problems so disabled it and still the problem was there.
