Media :: Saving Ringtones To Phone Instead Of Card?
Jun 25, 2009I tell you, I love this phone but I hate it. Compared to a Windows Mobile device where everything is as simple as dragging and dropping into folders, this phone gives me such headaches with its overly simplistic (and limited) processes. threads on making your own mp3 ringtone, I've got a kick-ass sampling from The Church's "Under the Milky Way" (you know the part. The synth bagpipe bridge). BUT I can only save it to the storage card. Which isn't a problem except until I get some spare cash, I can't quite swing a 16gb yet. Lots of little 512mb (don't laugh!) cards that I swap frequently (and I'd like a little sit-down with the person who designed the card slot cover to only be opened by gerbil paws). Is there a way to save my custom ringtone directly to the phone? Or will I have to stick it on every card until that glorious payday when I can get a 16gb?

Jun 15, 2010My phone is telling me that I have low space, but according to my computer, I have well over 3GB on my SD, which leads me to believe that text messages and applications are stored in another part on the phone or on some server. Is there a way to transfer any of these to the SD card or send them to a Gmail account? I can't even read text messages that I already received because of this and I've deleted well over 100 text messages and still can't read them.

Jul 14, 2010I have developed a simple application that on certain events sends an SMS to ppl from my address book. All works perfectly Except there is no trace of the SMS sent. I know that the SMS gets delivered - I have tested it but eventually I would like to have a trace of what was sent. I have tried giving write permission but it didn't help. Is there something special I have to do?

Perhaps even in folders such as "drafts". My old cheap Nokia could do this. When I now get an incoming message I can only delete it or leave it in the "inbox".

Mar 23, 2013Every message I send from Gmail on my phone (HTC One S) shows up twice when I log into Gmail from an Internet Browser. I read this: [URL] which explains that I need to set my SENT messages to not be saved on the server (so that it shows up only in the IMAP/SENT folder, and not that folder plus the GMAIL/SENT folder).
But I don't see any settings in the mail app to do that. I even looked in the Gmail app, and didn't see them either. I am using IMAP and the default mail app on the HTC.
I switched to the Gmail app and though the settings don't exist to save (or not) on the server, when I send from this app I don't get duplicate sent emails.
HTC EVO 4G :: Turn Of Sounds For Email - But Not Messages
Oct 28, 2010My Wife and both has Evo 4gs. On my phone, when I get a email, it just vibrates, but for a text I get a sound. On my Wife's phone, she has sounds for both. I installed a loud alarm sound because she doesn't want to miss a text form our kids. The problem is emails come in at all hours and it wakes us up.
Under "settings" I have Email Notifications ON, Notification Sound OFF, and Notification Vibrate ON for both phones.
The only difference is I have Hotmail and She is using GMAIL. What can I do to get her emails to just vibrate and text message to sound an alarm?

Is there a way to make capitals that are not at the beginning of sentences, for proper names, etc. and Is there an easier way to save text messages? Sep 11, 2010I'm dialing in my Droid 2, which is replacing my previous Blackberry Tour. I am importing all my audio files for ringtones, notifications, and alarms.
I have done the following:
Connected my phone to my computer
Mounted my SD card
Created a Media folder on the card
Created an Audio sub-folder within Media
Created Ringtones, Notifications, Alarms, and MP3s folders within Audio
My custom ringtones show up when I'm selecting them in Settings, and RingDroid also shows all of my files (currently placed in Ringtones and Notifications). However, if I go to my GMail app and settings, when I go to select a custom notification ringtone, only the ones that shipped with the Droid 2 show up. I also checked Settings, and no custom notification sounds come up.
HTC Incredible :: No Ringing And Media Sounds?
Oct 25, 2010I turned on my Dinc this morning with no issues. I heard the phone say 'Droid' as it was booting up. I have never had an issue with sound. Now my phone will not ring and there is no media sound. I went into the menu and everything is on. I have not done anything to cause this issue. I reset the phone 2 times and still no sound.

May 24, 2010For some reason when someone text messages me it plays no sounds. Just started it today. I checked all volume settings and everything is on. Even selected a new ringtone still no go. It plays sounds so its not the speaker. Any way to fix this?
Also I fixed my numbers not coming up in my gmail contacts sync last night. Now the phone wont recognize my gmail contacts. I made sure all sync settings were turned on. Anyone know how to fix this. Search the forums and went to manage applications and cleared all google apps still no go.
Phone is still on 1.5

Phone rings ok
I can hear screen taps ok
My volumes are all up in the various phone settings
I can hear text and email alerts
Problem:
If I boot up the media player and select a tune, it plays but I cannot hear it
If I fire up a youtube video, it plays but again I cannot hear it
The only thing that works believe it or not is turning the thing off and on again. However a while or if I exit the youtube app or whatever it then looses sound again.

Nexus :: Stereo Bluetooth Headsets / No Media Sounds
Jan 18, 2010I have a Moto stereo BT headset, and find that I am having an almost impossible time of pairing it. It works to make calls, but I can never get the media sound to come through, even though it says it is connected, I think it has maybe worked twice, with constant turning off and on of both BT on the N1 and the headset.
I noticed I had a lot of problems with my G1 sometimes, but nothing this extreme, the most it would take with the G1 is 1 or 2 tries. The first time I tried it with the N1 it worked perfect, and figured it had finally been fixed, but ever since it is more of a nightmare than ever.
