In my music player I can set which folders it looks in for music. But since I added music to my phone all the songs shows up as ringtones which makes it very hard to pick one since I have a large SD card with a lot of music on it. Any way to only see ringtones when I want to set notification for programs?

How do I get my custom ringtones from rooted media folder to show up in selection menus?
I am rooted and have successfully copied .ogg .wav or .mp3 ringtones to system/media/audio/ringtones, notifications or alarms folders. I can even play them from those folders on press.
My hassle is I am not able to select these as my tones. They don't show up in the menus. I want them in the root because if I am connected to my pc and an email/text/call comes in that is assigned a Custom tone on sd, then my tones revert back to a default tone and I have to reset them all when i disconnect from pc
Ringtones I put in the ringtones folder are also showing up in the Samsung media player. Is there a way to avoid this?

My question is seeing that the music app scans the whole SD card, will I end up playing my ringtones with the rest of the music I play?
I have ringtones I made on myxer on my SD card. The music player will play all the songs I have but it doesn't even show the ringtones. What am I doing wrong?

At first, I was able to set ringtones for when people call me but I tried to do something on my memory card so that I could get ringtones as my text message alert so I put everything under "notifications" "alarms". Then I realized there was no ringtones anymore. Okay so now the only way I can set a ringtone is through the music player thing. I've reformatted my whole memory card thinking that would help but it didnt.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOn my HTC Legend, when I download podcasts using Listen, BeyondPod, or Dpod, the downloaded .mp3 files are not visible on the android music player widget. Nor are they visible on btunes, even if I enable the audio books/podcasts features on btunes and hard-set the sdfolder path to where the .mp3 files are stored. On the music widget, I do see an empty "podcasts" playlist, but if I tell it to update, I get a "force close" error. Any ideas?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have tried the default music player that is installed with the Droid-X. I've also bought the bTunes player and installed the MixZing player (free version). What is wrong that, by default, all list the tracks of an album in alphabetical order? At least bTunes will let you optionally sort by original track order (although the way given by bTunes is counter-intuitive and you have to start playing a track before you can sort).
By default, all albums should display in original track order. I suppose that for those who have difficulty reading, perhaps an option to list tracks in alphabetical order might be in order for ADA compliance or something. Otherwise, when I browse one of my albums, I want to see it in the order that the original artist intended.
is there a way to prevent Motorola Media Link from automatically opening every time i plug my Droid into my laptop? I know how to prevent it from automatically syncing once connected, but i can't find a way to prevent it from opening at all when connected.

The problem is Google Music automatically searches my SD card and displays all the music stored on my phone along with the artists/playlists/etc. that I have stored on the cloud, which makes it confusing when browsing the library. Can I prevent Google Music from searching and displaying what's on the SD card, but still allow doubletwist to see it?

At all. Under any of the notification setting panels (Handcent's and the main one). They do show up under ringtones though.

In onUpdate(), it will set up the pendingIntent with extras with stock symbol. After I hit button A, it goes to Quote activity that shows stock A. Then I hit the BACK button to the homescreen, Quote activity calls onDestroy() and when I hit button B, stock B will show properly. However, when i hit HOME button after it shows stock A, the Quote activity only calls onStop without calling onDestroy(), then as i hit button B, it will call onStart() and it shows the same instance that shows stock A.

Originally I thought adding a flag in the Intent should solve this problem. But I have tried

So is there any ways to make it work? How can i remove the history stack from HOME button? How can I call onCreate in Quote activity and get new extras when i hit button B?

I have one called Music and one called Playlists, but you can do this however you want. Now launch MediaMonkey, and make sure it shows your phones memory card in the left sidebar (separately from the MyComputer option) In MediaMonkey, click on Tools up top, then choose Options and go down to Portable/Audio Devices Uncheck *all* of the plug-ins except d_USBMass1.dll Highlight d_USBMass1.dll and click on the Configure button to the right Choose the Device Configuration tab in the dialog box that popped up In the middle of this tab, youll see a box called Device Name, which is where youll type the name of your phone (mine is NexusOne)Below this, choose the appropriate drive letter from the drop-down Below this, enter a Drive Label (again, mine is NexusOne)Leave the USB Device ID box empty and dont click the Find Device button While you have this dialog box open, you can tinker with the other tabs, if you want. View 6 Replies View RelatedAfter hours of hit and miss using programs like Double Twist etc. I found that the easiest way to sync music to the iHTC Music player is to use Windows Media Player and buy Album Art Grabber to load the album art. Once you have done the initial sync with WMP you can go back and load individual albums simply by dragging them to the sync area. Connect your phone to the PC and unmount the SD card Open WMP and click the sync tab. Click the drive that represents your SD card (mine was H You will be prompted to sync everything for either this session or all sessions. (I always click this session only). Works great and all I will need in the future!
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've got a ton of music on my SD card in my phone, approx. 6.5GB worth on an 8GB card. The problem is, the music players in Android (I've used the default, RockOn and MixZing, though I want to stay with MixZing) only recognize about 80% of the music, in their libraries. The thing is, the music is there! If I browse to the folder and launch the file it will play, but there's no artist/title data, even though all the files are properly tagged (mp3s), plus, it opens in a weird verion of the default music player that will stop playing if it loses focus.
This has been a issue ever since I got this phone. It's a brand new SD card (my previous one, in addition to this problem, had major corruption issues; I originally thought it was the card but I guess that's not the case). Also, I've gone through two different ROMs (one when I first got the phone, and a second that I upgraded to about a month ago), so I don't think that's the issue. It seems to affect random folders (albums) at different times, whenever the library is refreshed, but I can't refresh the library manually (that I've found) to see if it's just not scanning those files, or if it's a more underlying issue. I'm stumped
So I had a few ring tones that were set exactly how I wanted them for timing etc for my iphone. Well I have Mabilo ring tones installed and it works well. (After finding out about the .no media thing so they don't show up in my music player.) So what I did was convert my M4R to MP3. Then I went into Mabilo and downloaded the ring tones they had for the songs that I wanted. I then copied the file name and overwrote the name for my version of the mp3 and then copied it into the mabilo folder. And voila, my ring tones are there. No need to edit and crop all over again etc on the phone. Hope this is useful for someone out there. And with my luck someone will say oh just use "X" app and it is much better. But being the android nub I am and wanting to contribute to this forum this is my first shot.

I know how to prevent screen timeout normally, but is there a way to only prevent it during Music Playback? I'd like to place it on the treadmill and not have to continue to tap the end button to get the screen to light back up and show the song/album art.
