yesterday I accidentally changed the settings on my ally and I set it so I could see the status of my sent messages. I took it off earlier today because it wasn't what I wanted. Now after 3 messages I have a grey box on my screen that says "Message received by (person's number)" and it doesn't go away unless I turn my phone off and back on again. Then after a few texts, it pops up again and won't go away.

My LG Ally is stuck at the "VELOCITY" boot screen and is stuck in a loop. I had Velocity 0.3 flashed yesterday and I decided to re-flash today. I have tried wiping data/files/cache/dalvik cache. I'm stuck and I don't know what to do. Also I never did a Nandroid backup (because I'm slow).

View 31 Replies View RelatedI tried to load velocity using ROM manager and it would boot, but it got force quit messages repeatedly before I could do anything else so I tried holding volume down, home, and send together and it flashed a screen quickly with the little android guy and a progress bar and then after that it won't go past the android logo. I tried using the LG-utility to flash it but it gives me errors and it wont flash it. What can I do besides run the thing over and get a new phone from insurance?

View 13 Replies View RelatedSo i got the ota for 2.2 on last tuesday. i hit the button to download now, it said my sd card was safe to remove, and thats it. looked in settings and still running 2.1 and system is up to date. called vz said they haven't heard of this, they called htc and said nothing to do but wait and the system SHOULD notice and try again within 2 weeks....(sucks) my wife got the update msg last thursday same thing happened.

Unfortunately the only option for copying is copy message and not selected text. I was able to select certain text and copy only it in the browser, but not in SMS/MMS (sometimes I need to copy an address or query). Does anyone know how to change this so I can copy only selected text (partial message)?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI own a Droid, and consider myself fairly savvy in the Android world, however my wife recently got the Ally and is having a problem editing her contacts. So when she initiqally booted up the phone it walked her through logging into google and facebook, etc, and it imported all those contacts into the phone, however, she wants to add in their phone numbers now, but its not letting her. We click on the menu button, click eedit contact, but then there is no way to edit or add phone numbers.

Does anyone have a clever method for inserting phone numbers into a text message? For example- I work in music, and people frequently call or text asking for the phone numbers of cellists and violinists I know so they can hire them for recording sessions. "Sure," I reply, "I'll text the numbers to you." Then, I have to look up the numbers in my People app, write them down on a piece of paper (or on a notepad on my computer), and then write the names and numbers into a text message. That works for home, but when I'm on the road it really screws the process. Can I start the text message and then import the names and numbers as text? I really want to be able to add more than contact to the text message (I'm not talking about recipients here, I mean sending a text that is a list of names and phone numbers).

I`am using Call Control now. This app can block non-numerical numbers. But no whitelist support.
Answer: information from cellular providers and from banks comes from such numbers. But they trapped in spam and you have always to look blocked log.
Has an LG Ally, and her message received notification won't go away. Is this a common problem?

I recently got my wife an LG Ally because her add-on line was ready to upgrade and she wanted to try something new. She had a BB Curve before and didn't want to go for the free ugprade with the new Curve. I've had an HTC Incredible and for the most part love it. I knew that the LG Ally wasn't as "powerful" as the HTC Incredible. My wife told me today that her Ally sometimes won't send txt messages or will send more than one of the same txt message. She also complained about it being slow. What can I do to get rid of this problem for her? I was considering running the Task Killer although I know Android has its own way of managing memory and running applications so I didn't know if running Task Killer would actually do anything. I think its getting to the point where she is getting frustrated with the phone and I may have to return it, if it is even possible, after her having it just a few days. Any thoughts?

View 2 Replies View RelatedAs I was clearing my entire inbox, someone texted me at exact same time. Now that message is stuck and will not go away. It will start randomly streaming in my notification bar, and at the bottom of the unlock screen. When I click on the person's contact information, it always shows I have a new SMS message from them. If you attempt to click it to read it, it just says "loading" forever. Also, when I receive a text it will show that I have 2 new texts since that other one is stuck there and technically still "new" since I can't click it. This has been there for days. I tried restarting the phone, I tried taking the battery out, I tried some program called SMS cleaner.. that thing will NOT go away. I've received texts at the same time I was clearing them with 2.1 but I never had this problem until the upgrade to Froyo. Anyone know how to get rid of it or will I need to do a hard reset?

i regrettably dropped my HTC desire recently and cracked the screen. I have a lot of numbers saved to the phone that i would like to get, and if possible all the SMS messages that were sent. is it possible to retrieve this data by using the data cable plugged in to my computer?
