Motorola Droid X :: Rooted Stock ROM With Bootstrapper - Removed Bloat - Factory Reset?
Oct 26, 2010So can I factory reset to go to stock after I installed bootstrapper and removed bloat after rooting? The issue is that the wall charger is not working while the usb charging works. I think it may have something to do with something I removed.

Sep 27, 2010Not sure if this is because of the ROM I'm using or because I'm rooted, but I can't do a factory reset on my phone. If I try it, the phone reboots and locks into a boot loop. I can pull the battery, but then it boot loops again. I've basically got to boot into recovery mode and reflash a usable ROM or backup to get the phone working again. Is this because I'm rooted or is this because of the ROM I'm using (Skyraider)?

Now when I looked around on some other forums it seemed as though that I didn't have to worry about factory resetting the phone while it was rooted. But when I went ahead and did so it no longer will boot. Its stuck in the boot loop/download mode/ whatever you may call it. I can't seem to flash a recovery file through Odin either. My phone is gone now.

Jul 4, 2013I am using HTC Explorer A310e. I rooted my cellphone yesterday. After rooting my cellphone, I had WhatsApp install and uninstalled couple of times, which led to some corruption as well. Thought of clearing the space by "Factory Reset" option with an intention of retrieving the built in apps.But after I did this, runs a process of resetting and when it restart it stuck at the main screen where HTC comes out on the display. My cell phone is not running beyond this screen. Cellphone screen is still on and displaying the "htc" only.

Dec 27, 2012I rooted my phone to uninstall some bloatware system apps several months ago. Now, I need to perform a factory data reset just to remove the Google account associated with it. Is it safe to do so or will I lose any further system apps or worse, brick my phone? I have the apk's of the system apps that I removed, but for some reason I am not able to restore/install all of them. I used ES File Explorer back then to remove those apps. [My phone is Samsung GT-I5801 running Android 2.2]

Sep 27, 2010Why a Froyo factory reset really isn't (plus, a fix for upgrade issues) | Android Central Its in reference to the X but I am going to factory reset tonight and see what happens."If you're one of those folks who is less than pleased with your Droid X after the Froyo update, this one's for you. Android Central Forums member Fabrian was at wit's end, and even talked of ditching his X (blasphemy!) because of the random bugs, general weirdness, and plain old unsatisfactory performance of his unit since the update.His last-ditch effort and ingenuity seems to have paid off. The secret? He has completely disabled the Froyo feature that restores data from previous installs. It's really just a matter of turning off the automatic restore feature before logging back into your Google account. It's a little odd that "Automatic Restore" is still checked by default, even when "Back up my data" isn't, but there you go.The method isn't too painful and does require one more factory reset, but the payoff appears to be a much smoother experience. Makes sense, too restoring data from Eclair to Froyo probably isn't a very good idea even if it is convenient.
We've verified it here, a hard reset in Froyo isn't really a hard reset, as things come back by themselves. Follow Fabrian's instructions, and you will have a pristine Froyo installation on your Droid X (or Nexus One -- Sense on Froyo has no setting for this that we could find). Any troublemaking leftovers will be no more, and won't get downloaded and installed automatically again. If you're being plagued with myriad tiny bugs in your Droid X after the update, give it a try! Nov 26, 2010Long time Droid user, brand new to the Fascinate Forum. I just bought my wife a Samsung Fascinate and I have to say the thing is absolutely phenomenal! It makes my Motorola Droid look like a 1990's flip phone!! Except for one problem the darned thing has been automatically spontaneously performing a factory reset / hard reset on itself.And it is happening at completely random times. You're sitting there playing a game, you're reading your e-mail or you just pushed the screen ON / power button to wake the phone up and unlock it and then, all of a sudden The phone reboots to the black and white Samsung startup screen, then recovery pops up and yellow writing appears that says "Formatting FOTA:", "Formatting DATA:", "Formatting CACHE:". Then the phone reboots again and comes up like you just pulled it out of the box; a full factory reset / hard reset. The contents of the SD card are thankfully fine.Is anyone else having this problem? Does anyone know if there is anything I can do to turn on some sort of logging so that maybe I can figure out what causes it? This is now the second phone that this is happening to. We took the first phone back to Verizon the very same day we got it and they swapped it out right there for another brand new one. The second phone behaved perfectly for three whole days before it went and wiped itself. We thought for sure that the problem was with the first phone, but now it is happening with the second phone.I am going to start from scratch again, adding one app at a time making sure the thing continues to work. But there weren't any apps on the device in the first place that were really out of the ordinary.- Gmail POP3 Yahoo- Corporate E-Mail to Microsoft Exchange Server (No, it wasn't the Exchange Admin sending a kill package, I'm the Exchange Admin)

LG Ally : Linpack Score On Stock Ally
Oct 6, 2010Before applying the Turbo4 ROM, I ran Linpack to get a base number so I can compare it with the number I get after I apply Turbo4. I got a 4.188. The phone is rooted with many of the stock apps removed running the Zeam Launcher, but no other custom ROMS.
Is that a pretty good number to start with? It was higher than I was expecting because most linpack scores i've read about are in the 3's.
General :: Prevent Safe Volume Reset When Plugging In Headphones?
Apr 21, 2014Plugging in headphones automatically adjusts to "safe" level. I hate this. Is there a mod (Xposed?) that prevents the volume from resetting? I'm not talking about the toast/pop-up about unsafe volume levels being dangerous (I've disabled that with Wanam). The devices I'm using are the Samsung Galaxy Light and LG 8.3 G Pad, both running 4.2.2, but I'm pretty sure it's a universal thing and the actual devices don't matter.

Nov 25, 2012So i had my Droid Bionic (Verizon) rooted a few months back. A few weeks ago, there was an update for android firmware. I went from 2.3.4 to 4.0.4 without realizing I had to un-root my phone before.
The night I updated, my battery just so happened to run out in the middle of the night (the update was done in the morning, so the update process was obviously unaffected). I woke up to AP Flashboot Flash boot error. This was temporarily fixed with me just loading the fastboot menu and selecting Normal Powerup.
But now i would like to re-root my phone, and i was wondering if it is safe to just straight-up root it with my comp. And if im not specific enough, just let me know what information i have to include.
LG Ally : How Do I Restore My Aly To Factory After Playing With Root
Oct 6, 2010Decided to get brave and try the whole Root thing to get rid of some of the bloatware on my Ally. I used Universal Androot to root my phone, Titanium Backup with the Batch "Backup all user apps + System data", ROM Manager to back up the ROM, and Root Explorer to change permissions so I could delete the bloatware apps. (Well, the ones I could figure out - still have a shortcut for Corporate Calendarand Socialite.)
OK - fine so far. However, when I tried to restore, the apps I deleted are still gone. I tried using the Factory Reset option in Settings - nice and clean but the same apps are missing. By this time, I've figured out I misunderstood something somewhere. The question is - can it be fixed?
