Did anybody find out a way to disable the loud start up sound on the lg ally? I don't like having my phone on all the time and when I turn it on. I don't want the start up sound playing. Even if the phone is on silent when I turn it off, the sound plays anyway. This seems like it should be a simple fix, but I have yet to see any change since the recent android update.

Why does my music start up even if the phone is locked? It kills me everyday, my battery dies out because my Ally plays music all day long without me noticing it. Another, while I have your attention, and haven't looked around for the answer of this one: How do you keep your phone screen on during calls: Checking messages is a burden for me!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have two emulators, SNESoid and NESoid. When I load either, if I don't disable all sounds, the sound is very choppy/distorted and the game is boggy. I've played around a bit with the frame rate settings, but to no avail it seems. Does anyone know of any potential settings in the program or in the phone settings that could be causing this, and what I might try to fix them? Thanks

View 3 Replies View RelatedIf this is the wrong place to post, apologies. I recently rooted, got ROM Manager with Clockwork Recovery and flashed the Velocity ROM. Everything works quite awesome, but I'm not getting my notification sound when I get a text message. I do get it for other notification events, and I've tried a couple different sounds just for good measure. Is this a ROM issue? An issue with my phone? Anyone else experiencing it? Right now I'm using the default messaging app.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a rooted Sanyo Zio running Android 2.2, kernel 2.6.32.9-perf, on Ting's service (a recently opened Sprint affiliate). Every so often, particularly when in poor reception, I receive notifications along the lines of:
[triangular caution sign]
Error Code 2048:
Network Busy.
Please try again.
Error Code 3000: Server Busy is also common.
These don't bother me much, as Ting just came out of beta and is working on ironing problems out. However, these error codes are accompanied by an annoying chirp tone, which I want to disable. I've dug through the /system/media/audio folders looking for it, and can't find it. Where this particular notification sound is, so I can kill it?
My definition/expectation of a 'notification' is a graphic/text message with the option to enable/disable a sound to alert me that the notification came in per app.
I want to:
1- enable/disable graphic/text per app
2- enable/disable sound per app
For #1, it looks like I have to go Setting>App Manager>All>Uncheck 'show notifications'. But, apparently that will disable everything...ie, no graphic/text or sound. I've tried lock screen and notification apps without luck so far......
Is there a way to disable the start up sound on the Eris? Also, it recognizes my WiFi network. I type in the password, it obtains the address, and then it says unsuccessful.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI followed the effen manual to flash a new ROM for my HCT Desire HD on Monday, December 12th with absolute success. However, I have lost the start up sound file and when I boot my android, it boots in quiet mode. I searched for a solution and found many threads explaining how to disable it, but very little on how to enable it.
The problem is when I open my SDcard and look in the media/audio/notifications all I have is a facebook.mp3 file, I do not have any other files that would allow for the start up sound to open on boot.
Anyone find a way to do this without rooting yet. I don't mind the animation but I hate the droid noise everytime I turn on the phone.

In folder "system/media/audio/camera/" change name of "cam_snap_0.ogg" and it's done.
I renamed folder name "camera" and by this way disabled any camera sounds witch was useless for me.
The one thing I can't figure out is how to disable the shutter sound when I snap a pic.Anyone know how to turn it off?
