I am trying to get me Droid to play the Droid sound at startup again. I have tried to set my notification so i get the droid sound at start up, but no luck. It is a droid 1 rooted with easy root and I am also using super manager.

Not a huge deal but just really a concern, hoping nothing is wrong with phone. So, when my wife turns phone off and turn on the phone no longer has that "droid" sound like when it was first bought, just another ringtone that isn't used for any kind of notification or anything and I don't see a setting for that anywhere.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI don't know how I did it, but on my home screen, originally I saw this:with the phone on the left, 2nd home screen to get to all the apps, and the contacts button to the right with the 5-7 screens.somehow I got it on some "Linux" mode where when I press anywhere on the screen, it will shrink to three small windows, two of which are empty and 1 of the windows only displays the following icons: Droid Market, Browser, and Maps along with a dock at the bottom. I want to go back to the way it was beforehand. Does anyone know how to fix this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an application with contains multiple activities. The main activity will start the others ( use startActivity() ) depends on user event, when an activity close, it calls finish() and return back to main activity. It appears to behavior like that.
However, the "problem" I see is main activity's onCreate function is called every time. I think the the main activity should be placed in the activity stack and simply push to front when others exit, therefore only onResume, onStart are called. Is there some flag I need to set or I misunderstand the activity behaviro?
In child activity, besides calling finish() or startActivity for main activity, what is other way to move main activity to front?
If I am using LauncherPro and want to switch back to the original home screens..........how would I go about doing that? I don't want to uninstall.......just switch back for a bit.
Are the widgets sizeable and customizable in LauncherPro?
is the current available update for Froyo the same update that Verizon is releasing today at 12:00 pm eastern? why should people wait till noon if its the same? also, if i want to set phone back to original settings and redownload all my apps from the market, do i need to manually set up all my email account settings again? and are all of my pictures that i have taken saved to the my SD card? so i should remove that card when resetting phone and put back into phone when done or can i leave it in phone and they should be fine during reflashing ?

1) does this void the manufacturer warranty, or the $6/month im paying for verizon accidental damage warranty
2) is there a way to restore the original settings on the phone, ie make it like the root never happened if i need to? so i dont lose warranty?
Last night I was driving home listening to MP3's on my droid and with the phone sitting speaker up I could hear the music just fine...nice and loud.
Today, none of my sound is audible unless it is extremely quiet in in the room or I'm holding the speaker right to my ear (I didn't hear my alarm this morning either )
All the sound setting are at max. Anyone else having this issue or know how I can get my sound to go up again?
I am still on 1.5 and using the original keyboard. I can't figure out where is the back arrow to make the cursor go back to a character I typed before. Is there a back arrow?

It now is on my phone but after it runs my screen goes green for awhile as i frantically press buttons to get it back. I tried uninstalling the app but that didn't get my original animation backk. How do i do this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI think this has to be a problem with the SD card and scanning it, but for some reason after syncing my phone, plugging it into the computer to charge, or even plugging it in to charge in the car, my music playlists seem to be duplicating all the time. I have loaded my playlists using Doubletwist (Slower than hell freezing over), I have tried Doubletwist, Mixzing, Cube, and Zimly and all have shown some or all of the duplicates. I have had it with Mixzing because of this, but the others seem to be doing it as well, just not as much. I have actually had up to 6 copies of the same playlist at one time. There is still only 1 music playlist that has songs in it, but there are 2, 3, or up to 6 copies for some reason. Another strange thing is the original actual playlist has each word starting with Capitals, but the copies are are small case. I've looked all over my SD card to see if I can find where these "phantom" playlists are stored, but I haven't found anything yet.
Also, after that stupid Froyo update, my phone won't allow me to play anything from the SD card when it is plugged in. Yes, I have tried changing the setting from Charge only to all of the other 3 options at one time or another, but in my car, it refuses to allow access to the SD card when plugged in regardless of what I do or what setting I have changed. Not impressed with the Froyo update AT ALL! This morning my SD card decided to lose all of my videos that were on it (5 GB worth) and about 1/3 of my music. I have no idea where they went, but they are gone. This phone was awesome in most every way until that stupid update, I wish I could go back to 2.1! My Pandora sucks now, my Multi-touch keyboard won't work anymore, I lost a whole bunch of files off my SD card as mentioned above, and I haven't noticed a single benefit other than my camera opens quicker now.
I had an edited png for the market icon in the vending apk but when I applied my edited png's to Ivans rom with the market fix it seems to have changed the icon back to the original market Icon. When I first loaded the rom it showed my edited png for the market icon but after my first reboot it seems to change the icon back to the original. I assume that the market is updating upon reboot so I pulled the vending apk off my phone and my edited png's are still there but its still showing the original market icon. Anybody else with an edited market icon notice this or any ideas of why its going back to original? I have tried this a couple times and it always updates after first reboot...

View 1 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone Evo with the latest Unrevoked method. I then installed Rom Manager. From there I backed up the current rom I had on my phone (stock evo). I uploaded a custom rom. I hated the rom. I then tried to revert back to my original backed up rom. It didnt work! Now im stuck. How do I get back to my original rom? I dont care about being rooted. Just want the original Evo Rom Back.

I really don't want to spend time troubleshooting the issues as 2.1 was working perfectly for me.
If apps offer updates that turn out to be crap can you get back your original app that worked better? For example handcent sms had new update that's getting a lot of people saying its "force closing", "slowing phone down", and adding cheeky "charges for some new crappy feature" when the app is meant to be free. I've seen this with many updates people not being to happy, so again, can I update an app and then get the previous version back if I'm not happy with it?

I rooted my EVO yesterday, using unrEVOked, it did not want to install until i removed HTC Sense from device manager. I rooted the phone for the wifi tether, which worked. I then decided to install CM6, so i made a backup image using nandroid, and followed all the directions for that. CM6 did not want to install until in installed PC36IMG.zip. I found out that none of my contacts were there and needed to install GAPPS, which i can not find a file for that (all links seem to be broken). Now i want to go back to the original HTC rom, but still have the phone rooted.
*PROBLEM* When i go into the restore in nandroid it starts to run but then gives me "Error While Flashing Boot Image".
How can i get back to the stock HTC rom ?? Another issue is that when the phone is plugged in it no longer sees it as a mass storage device, and i can not see the SD card.
I changed my lock screen background to a picture from my picture folder and now i can't get the defaut one back. If I go to Personalize/lockscreen wallpaper I only get to choose from album pictures but in Home Wallpaper you get to choose from a Wallpaper Gallery. Why is that and how do I get the original background back or any other nice background pic.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is my first android device and i'm loving it... but one thing that irks me is the use, or lack thereof, of the back button.
As I am navigating menus and options in the Settings, I cannot simply go back one menu using the back key. For example, if I go to Settings->Battery Manager->Battery Profile Options and want to go back to the Settings screen, I cannot.
Pushing the back button does nothing and I can only go back to the Settings menu by going Home, then re-entering.
Another quirk regarding the back button is when reading emails. Using a regular email account such as Hotmail, I cannot simply read an email and go back to the inbox using the button.
It makes navigating the phone very tedious.
I removed the favorites screen that came with the device. I was trying to find it back, but can't seem to do so. Does anyone know? I like how the contacts are big sized.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo since the day I got my Eve (GW620) it's had a tendency to drop 90% of the calls I'm on, usually within the first 2 minutes. I've had all intentions of sending the device back for a replacement, which is why I paid the extra $50 for the warranty, however I've been lazy and it never went back. The device hasn't been used since July, until today. I found out that OpenEtna had got a working 2.2 Froyo ROM for the EVE, so I figured what the hell, let's play with this thing. So anyways I took it out of its box, rooted it, flashed it with the custom 2.2 ROM and was loving it, until I made a phone call and it dropped (after about 10 minutes).
Now for the last 4 hours I've been trying to find an original Rogers ROM to flash back to the device so I can ship it back and get a new one but this seems to be impossible - so to my fellow Eve owners, does anyone have the original Rogers boot.img and system.img for the Eve, or know where I can find it? Or anyone who has not installed a custom ROM, would you be willing to make a backup, factory restore, make another backup (with Original ROM), send me the boot.img and system.img, then reinstall their first back up?I did try tolemac's toleROM which is a 1.5 ROM, but it's custom too, already rooted with none of the Rogers apps.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have accidentally installed this baseband on my Sky Vega 820: "IM-A810K_ICS_Baseband FW212.zip".
Afterwards, when I installed CM10 jellybean ROM update via CWM recovery it installed correctly but did not load. The CM10 screen appears and the wheel rotates but then a blue screen appears showing "MDM Error" and the phone reboots automatically. This keeps on happening again and again and the ROM never loads.
I think the Kernel of my device is changed. I want to move back and install the original baseband for my device but I am unable to find it...
I installed the Pandhome Theme on my Dinc, and now I'd like to go back to the original HTC sence display, but I cant figure out how to do that.
