I run Nova Launcher on my phone and I love it. Buy any time I switch to another launcher, including the stock launcher, my text message icon has a 1 by it. I have checked and I don't have any messages. I don't really want to delete all my messages.

This has only started since I upgraded to Kitkat. I've tried googling it and even spent an hour on the phone with O2 but not had any luck. How I can stop it on my Galaxy S4.

I can add my number to the send, and I get the subject line..how we can receive the subject line from an email? (My wife does not get wifi at work, so using email is not an option.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to swipe a text message notification on the lock screen to open that message like you could do in Jelly Bean? My messages show up, but when I swipe them, the lock screen slides over to a second page. I tried playing around with some of the lock screen settings, but couldn't figure anything out. Am I missing something completely obvious, or is this somehow not possible to do?
Brand new S4 received yesterday, stock OTA 4.4.2 pushed by Verizon about 5 minutes after my phone was activated.
After playing a bit more, I found that if I swipe to the second lock screen page, then back, if I tap on the message notification it will open, but tapping before that yields nothing.
Since I updated my phone yesterday...When I go to create a text message and enter the recipient it is not finding anyone. There is a few names/e-mails that pop up but not the ones im looking for. My address book is still the same and it is people I regularly message.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI've been having a problem with my desire home screen (in particular the sms icon) and I'm wondering if anyone else knows how to fix it.
Recently my messages icon has been showing the little "1" in a green circle indicating I have an unread message. Problem is, I've gone through every list of messages I have on the device and there are no messages I haven't read and the "1" stays there. The only ways I've found to get rid of it are to either delete the icon and then put it back or to use Advance Task Killer and kill messages application. I'm not using any fancy apps for messages, just the default one.
My email counter is always perfect, this only seems to affect my sms. Also, my girlfriend told me she sent me a message a few days ago, but I never received it. Not sure if that's a happy coincidence, or if the phone got the message, is telling me I haven't read it, but isn't displaying it for me to see. All the other messages from her are plainly visible.
Sometimes when I receive messages it makes the notification sound and will show message in notification bar but the text of the message will not appear in the text thread. Used to happen every once in a while, now doing it multiple times a day. I use Handcent but I doubt that is the problem because the messages dont show up in the regular messaging either. Just want to see if i am alone with this problem.
View 8 Replies View Relatedso i got my new Nexus 5, set it all up.find that the stock calendar app is still hit or miss as to whether it decides to show items in the calendar.i had my old nexus 4 sitting next to it and the nexus 5 wasn't showing an item that the nexus 4 was (this item was also showing on the web version of the calendar).i then scroll thru and the nexus 5 shows an item that the nexus 4 doesn't.
this really makes the calendar app un-usable, as you are never sure if it's 100% accurate or not!
one example of a missing item is from a holidays calendar that i added via the google calendars list.now it isn't EVERY item from that calendar that is missing, it's the odd one or two.
another instance of missing items is from the birthdays calendar, again some as above, some show some don't.
so it this something that i just need to live with (ie do others see this?)or is there some fix? this is a brand new nexus 5 with a fresh setup.
but I would like to know if the message sent in a text message can be forwarded to another contact on my phone, and if so, how do you do it? Checked the owners manual, and could not find it.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy friend has just got a Desire and is having a problem with her contacts. She has chosen to just put contacts in People manually and link them to Google and Facebook manually, which is fine, but when she goes to call or message someone, the phone brings up all of the contacts on her phone (e.g. the Google and Facebook ones) rather than just those stored in People. This is really annoying as it means she has to scroll through loads of people she'll never want to call/text. We've tried going to Accounts & Sync and unsyncing contacts but that hasn't worked. Any suggestions?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI downloaded about 10GB of media files onto my Android 5 today - all play fine on the phone it self without any issues. I attempted to move them from the phone to PC, but when ever I try playing them or moving them, I receive an error message: error 0x80040000: invalid oleverb structure.
I've tried Googling this, but I can't find anything specific to the Android. I can transfer much smaller files to and from the phone without any issues.
Unfortunately I don't have a home data package to transfer files via wifi...
For crying out loud all I want to do is change the alert for facebook. As it is now all it does is vibrate, I want it to make a noise, is that too much to ask? Switched from iphone to Droid Ultra. Way too much to go through just to change an alert.

I am not sure if the solutions are the same. Also, when it is on ring, it rings and vibrates, not just rings. Any suggestions? My main concern it getting it to vibrate when I get messages, I am not too concerned about the ring/vibrate thing.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI don't know if its a sign I have a lot of stuff on my phone or what but it annoys me when I click the green messaging icon on the phone and it stalls for a second or two before opening or if I had been texting person A and I get another text from person B, when I tap the green icon it will open back up the Texting thread from person A instead! In that case, I have to exit out of all conversations before I can see the new text coming in from Person B!
