If auto backup is enabled in Photos, any images I download are also backed up. This happens regardless of whether 'back up local folders' is on or off, and even if I've explicitly disabled uploads for the Downloads folder!
I only want to backup photos I take, not all the junk I download. It's clearly broken.

Can't turn on auto-backup for photos on my S4. Every time I try within the G+ app it immediately disables when I return to said page. Looked in sync settings and I see no issues. What is going on here? I just want to auto backup my photos.

I have g+ notifications set for certain things but am receiving a notification from the g+ app and also an email.
Since other camera apps use other folders to save the pictures in them, how can I add those folders to also sync to Google+? Do I need to change the folders these apps save too?

I just want to make sure my photos will be private and no one else will be able to view them. I've just been doing a bit of exploring via Astro and have noticed that my photos are stored in a folder titled DCIM.Inside this folder there are a few folders and loose files.thumbnails - contains a few files but I have no idea what they are.There are 13 random photos (not in their own folder) which were in the gallery when I received the phone.An empty Camera folder - what is this for? 100 Media - A folder with all the pictures I have taken.Could somebody clarify what the .thumbnails folder and Camera folder are for? View 6 Replies View RelatedI have the droid X as well as a friend of mine. I have ADW, he has LP. After side by side comparisons, I want to switch to ADW. The only thing that holds me back is that I use a LOT of folders on my home screens. ADW has the feature where you can select to close folders after selecting. I don't know why in the world they designed it so that the folder stays open. When I select something in the app drawer, it doesn't go back to the app drawer when I close the app. Why would I want the folder to be open after closing an app. Anyway, is there an option out there that will close folders after selecting something in it. I have tried folder organizer by Fabio Collini, but its a little confusing on how to use the darn thing.

In this database are 2 tabels, tvchannels and tvprograms. Now I can do several updates to the tvchannels table and i want to make a backup of this table to a lokal database file. How can i do that? I want to do this because I have to download a new database file every daye from the server and the channels that are choses are saved in the tvchannels database. View 6 Replies View RelatedSo the wife and I have our own google accounts on our androids but I would like to set up a shared google account mainly for photos.So in my case, my phone would have me@gmail setup on the device and I add shared@gmail.
I would like the shared@gmail account to handle photos uploading, so I would disable auto-upload and google photos sync on me@gmail and enable them on shared@gmail (but nothing else synced on that account).
1. Would the phone then act as it would normally without me worrying about the other account? So would gmail, google play, google+ etc automatically default to my main account and such without me having to choose accounts every time I do anything?
2. Would the photos albums synced with the shared account (but not on the main account) still show in the gallery/google+ photos apps?
3. If I wanted to manually share a photo from my camera, how would I ensure that photo went to the shared@gmail account?
I have bought a new MOTO G, which got upgraded to KITKAT 4.4.2 version. Now when I try sending photo from Whats-app, by choosing
1) Attach Item
2) Choosing Gallery
3) Selecting Photo
4) Clicking Send
Nothing happens after this action. However, if I directly go to the directory, and use Whats-app as the Sharing Option the photos are shared.

Well, I figured that I might as well get a brand new moto X during the firesale (bamboo backed BTW) to test drive and I may be over thinking it, but um... Do I save my images to photos or gallery? Photos are uploaded 100% complete but when i go onto Google Photos, the photos are chopped, only top 80-90% are there, the rest is filled with a grey border.

These are my own shots taken with a DSLR, they are printed and hanging and I used my Captivate to photograph them off the wall. The first one I instantly re-tagged because I didn't realize the exact name of what I photographed. Is there any camera app that can write photos and videos to the SD card? It seems like a waste of an SD card if I can't have my photo's and videos go directly to the card.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I go to change or assign a contact photo, I'm prompted like always to crop the photo I've selected. Once the crop is made and I hit done, an error message at the bottom is posted. "Edited photo can't be saved" and the photo is not assigned. This is something new that has just developed recently and seems to be specific to 4.4.2 on my 2 different Nexus devices.The only work around is to change the photo through gmail on my PC.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI went on a small trip yesterday and thought i'd group and name my photos on my nexus 5. However, i came to the conclusion that i can't.... or did i miss something?
I mean, i simply wanted to put the photos in one folder, name this folder, and voilaaa. but no way. I used the defaut "photo" app that came with kitkat, (i disabled the "gallery" app, given it makes no point to have two apps that do the same in one place).
the only solution i found is then to backup my photos on G+, put them in one folder there, and only now in "photos" i can see them as an album...
app that does a complete backup of my device (Note 3) that will restore all settings including the app folders that I have created. I have used Samsung Kies, but that does not restore my app folders. I have spent a lot of time setting up my apps into folders, but there is no app that I can find that will restore app folders. Many of the apps say the restore system settings, but it doesn't appear to me that those settings include the app folders. Coming from an iPhone, this is the biggest frustration that I have so far with my device. iCloud will restore all settings so that a new device is exactly the same as the one it's replacing.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been using android for a while now, and I actually can move smoothly througth the system. But now I want to update for the first time my firmware with a newer custom rom. And I have some doubts:
Usually all customs roms make you do the wipes. What what actually happens with that? I know what those directories have, but I guess the proccess only erases the apps and some configuration, right? Because I think some apps config are stored on the internal storage.
It is recommendable to make a backup of the folders to be wiped and then restore it? If it is, will the overall config be the same as before the rom change?
my Galaxy S4. My service is through Sprint and all apps and system updates are done. While I understand the latest system update has a lot of problems, the one issue I have had has been going on for quite some time. My music player autostarts. The player I am referring to is the 'MUSIC' app (the one where the icon looks like a blue circle and has a green musical note on it.) The trigger seems to be when I get calls from a blocked number. My company's outgoing calls are automatically blocked so each time I get a call from a coworker my phone launches into whatever song I last played instead of ringing. It doesn't matter if the phone was muted - the volume is on so everyone gets to hear the latest tune. Along with the unexpected musical interlude, I don't get any indication of the incoming call.
