Say I want to have a source code directory called "views". When I create that directory using Eclipse, it changes my package name to com.xyz to com.xyz.views.
Since this package name (com.xyz.views) is different than the rest of my app (com.xyz) is this going to cause me to do a lot of extra work to link those packages? Will this cause problems with the fact that Android Market looks at the package name and is more or less locked to the package name?
I tried a couple of the programs that allow you extra home screens but like some people, I found out running into more troubles.
I decided to create folders and name them on my home page and then put various shortcuts in each folder. I have one for games, one for utilities one for multimedia etc.
My question is, how can I get these to be listed in alpabetical order?
Or is there a way that I can organize the apps in the order that I want them (maybe a list view vs. having the icons listed)?
I realize I could delete every icon in the folder and then manually add them in alphabetical order BUT if I find a new app and move it to a folder, it always puts the icon at the bottom of the list.
I have made a folder with shortcuts to direct dial. This way I can have my one touch favorite phone list.
How do I arrange the icons in the folder ? I was able to change the folder name, move icons into it, and delete icons from it. But can not find out how to move them around.
Can we organize all of our apps into folders in the app tray? I know that you can do it and have them displayed on the home page, but I want to do it on the app tray itself. Can I put all my shopping apps together, my sports apps together, etc.? I don't want to change the home pages, just the app tray.

I'd like to be able to create some albums and seperate my photos so I can find them easier rather than having to go through them all to find a single shot. I know albums can be created some how, becasue in the users manual there is a page that shows a screen shot of the phone. This screen shot has a list of albums that have been created.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've just been doing a bit of exploring via Astro and have noticed that my photos are stored in a folder titled DCIM.Inside this folder there are a few folders and loose files.thumbnails - contains a few files but I have no idea what they are. There are 13 random photos (not in their own folder) which were in the gallery when I received the phone. An empty Camera folder - what is this for? 100 Media - A folder with all the pictures I have taken.Could somebody clarify what the .thumbnails folder and Camera folder are for? Also, can I "tidy up" this area of my phone, and would the phone still recognise and find the files? Could I create a folder which newly taken photographs will automatically be located?

For example, I now have a folder called All pictures and My pictures with the same pictures. Is there a way I can just have all my pictures in 1 folder? And also have my camera shots in the same folder if I want to?

View 2 Replies View RelatedIf auto backup is enabled in Photos, any images I download are also backed up. This happens regardless of whether 'back up local folders' is on or off, and even if I've explicitly disabled uploads for the Downloads folder!
I only want to backup photos I take, not all the junk I download. It's clearly broken.
Is there anyway to password protect my folders and apps? Even my photos gallery?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've been using android for a while now, and I actually can move smoothly througth the system. But now I want to update for the first time my firmware with a newer custom rom. And I have some doubts:
Usually all customs roms make you do the wipes. What what actually happens with that? I know what those directories have, but I guess the proccess only erases the apps and some configuration, right? Because I think some apps config are stored on the internal storage.
It is recommendable to make a backup of the folders to be wiped and then restore it? If it is, will the overall config be the same as before the rom change?

Is there a general program for processing photos, to carry out basic adjustments to crop, resize, etc. without reducing my random photos. Until now vaunted Photoshop Express and PicSay Pro arbitrarily reduce the picture and it is only for web.

I want this to replace my iPod Touch (not that I hate apple or anything I just want one device for everything) and was wondering how this process works on this phone exactly. I know that you can plug in your phone and manually make all of the folders for your albums and such but that seems like a lot of work.
