View 3 RepliesI rooted my Incredible a few days ago for the first time and installed Cyanogen mod. Everything is going well, but I do have one question. When I connect my phone to my pc, my sd card comes up but phone storage doesn't. When I click on the phone storage, it asks me to format the drive to be able to use it. If I do format, what will happen? How can I fix this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am new here and have not yet an android, as such, I have have a phew questions (actually quite a phew) so as to help me decide whether or not to purchase one. All help will be greatly appreciated. By the way this is all in regards to the hero, okay I'll get into it. 1. Okay the first is concerning to rooting and ROMs, as you all know the hero is well known for all its problems and hiccups (as evident by all the Qs on this forum regarding hero), e.g screen glitches and flickers, key board fails to register, no video play back on certain formats, problems with the social websites sync, computer sync issues, downloading apps, list keeps on going (see forum threads). My question is, if I were to root and get a custom ROM this would void my warranty which would be a problem if any any of the problems above (which are likely) were to occur, so what I want to know is if I root and do the ROM, is there any way I can 'uninstall' so to speak so as to not void my warranty? 2. I run a mac so will this pose any complications regarding syncing, or loading music etc? 3. I hear many problems in regards to the video playback formatting, I am unclear as to what this implies, does this refer to loading videos from your computer to the device? i just want to confirm that these problems do not refer to playback of videos that were actually taken with the phone.....

Steve.
Every few days(sometimes once a day) I get a 'new' android 4.3 update, which once it reboots into the teamwin bootloader, and finishes installing the update(which always seems to work for first 2 steps but says no contents in file, then 2 errors after) I lose root access and it asks if I want to reapply (which I do) and it loads as normal on a restart. I am with build number JWR66N now, but the info page on the TWRP window shows it updates JWR66N to (And I forgot the number here, but its different)
So I'd like to know, is it normal to have 'constant' android updates like this, and if not, what build number should I have?
I have had this issue since about a week after I got my nexus, its been rooted ever since, but in an attempt to fix this issue(Which is just annoying, I doubt its causing any real damage) I unrooted the nexus, updated it(Manually) and re-rooted it using the wugfresh rootkit.
I am thinking about formating my sd card to start fresh. When I do this will I lose root?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI really don't have any desire to root in general...perhaps if it were all simple and zero-risk, OK.
But I'm considering root just to get full, normal, access to microSD. Is root the only way to get access?
Is it possible for an update that allows Bluetooth devices without root? Would it be a software update or something more?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've had a search around but I couldn't find an answer. If I format my SD card what exactly do I lose? I'm not too bothered about pictures and music because I can back them up, or apps either because I've never paid for one. So is it safe to just go ahead and format? It's the bog standard SD card that came with the phone. The reason I ask my SD card looks a little messy with installing and uninstalling apps that leave behind folders.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWas wondering anyone knew of a simple note app that allows formatting?? I have Docs to Go which is a full-service Word format viewer/editor which has tons of formatting options, however (if anyone has noticed) the UI is horribly tedious.I'm just looking for a simple note problem where I can bold some entries and leave others plain text. Suggestions regarding the use of "tags" or other methods of labeling isn't what I am looking for. Just want the ability to format some text within a note as bold and leave other text normal.I have tried the following apps, NONE of which, as far as I can tell, have the formatting options that I am looking for:

How to change my number format from the american xxx-xxx-xxx to my country's (Argentina) format. MoreLocale 2. That's exactly what I wanted!!!" Except that's now what I am looking for. There are plenty of websites that tell you to write these numbers down in my google contacts with that format, except that's not what I'm looking for.:
MoreLocale 2 changes the standard American formatting xxx-xxx-xxx to xxxxxxxxx when I select Argentina which is NO FORMATTING once so ever. Even Brazil and Chile and Uruguay, which have the same format gives the same result.
I want my numbers to be formatted xxxx-xxxx. Any way (even manual system file editing) that will allow me to have all numbers entered into a dialer formatted xxxx-xxxx-xxxx.I've lost hours online and all I can find is people praising MoreLocale2 for removing the dashes.. I don't want them removed, I want to change the PLACES where these dashes go...
There are no options in the settings to format the sd card, just mounting and unmounting as well as total space etc. I am running ICS 4.0.4 and am not rooted ! Also, I was not sure if the settings were created by LG because they are different from the other versions I have seen.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've tried re-adding the songs twice now and every time it deletes a BUNCH of the songs. The only place I've noticed this was with Cascada. I have about 40 songs of hers that I tried to add and when I disconnect the phone from my computer and view the Music list, it only has 3, the same 3 every time. I'm putting the files on my SD card in MP3 > Cascada in their separate album folders. It keeps the folders and AlbumArt.jpg files but deletes the songs! Why is it doing this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedEarlier I formatted my memory card, probably shouldn't but I thought that as I hadn't put anything on this should be fine. Is this where the sync programme lives, I'm guessing if it is I can download it from somewhere no bother. So, I downloaded a couple of songs off T-mobile, but since formatting my music player does nothing, just says that there are no songs. Doesn't let you search or anything.
