HTC Hero :: Formatting SD Card

Jan 11, 2010

I've had a search around but I couldn't find an answer.If I format my SD card what exactly do I lose? I'm not too bothered about pictures and music because I can back them up, or apps either because I've never paid for one. So is it safe to just go ahead and format? It's the bog standard SD card that came with the phone.The reason I ask my SD card looks a little messy with installing and uninstalling apps that leave behind folders.

I've looked everywhere for an answer but I still have my doubts.Maybe a dumb question here, but... if having an ext2 partition + a fat32 on my SD (using apps2sd), does using the formatting option from the phone wipe the ext2 as well? If yes, how can I format only the fat32 one ? (Android 2.1)

HTC Incredible :: Deletes My Songs When Formatting SD Card

Jul 4, 2010

I've tried re-adding the songs twice now and every time it deletes a BUNCH of the songs. The only place I've noticed this was with Cascada. I have about 40 songs of hers that I tried to add and when I disconnect the phone from my computer and view the Music list, it only has 3, the same 3 every time. I'm putting the files on my SD card in MP3 > Cascada in their separate album folders. It keeps the folders and AlbumArt.jpg files but deletes the songs! Why is it doing this?

3. What does a Nandroid backup normally take? Would it keep ROM+ Apps in System Partition or just the ROM?

Samsung Fascinate :: Completely Wiping / Formatting An Sdhc Card

Sep 10, 2010

The SD card on my samsung fascinate worked fined until I tried to save a sound from a mms. Then my fascinate starting slowing down... until i removed the sd card. Then the phone ran fine.The problem I have is that I tried to format the sd card both by phone, and by computer. However the phone would freeze up if I insert the card, and my computer is unable to format the card. I tried going to controlpanel//administrative tools/computer management -> disk management, but it was unable to format the card.I even tried downloading something called an "sd formatter" however it appears as though my card is "not supported". Does anyone have a solution on how to return it back to normal? It appears as though normal formatting methods are not working.The card came with the fascinate 16gb, class 2 if that helps at all.

HTC Hero :: Music Player Does Not Play After Formatting

Is this where the sync programme lives, I'm guessing if it is I can download it from somewhere no bother. So, I downloaded a couple of songs off T-mobile, but since formatting my music player does nothing, just says that there are no songs. Doesn't let you search or anything.

Sprint HTC Hero :: People App Phone Number Formatting

Nov 17, 2009

I've noticed that in the People app, the phone numbers are formatted like this: (xxx) yyyzzzz but phone numbers that are used in message fields such as "Send Message" are formatted (xxx) yyy-zzzz. Is there any way to have the phone numbers formatted using the dash? Why, you ask? Because it's easier to read when you are looking up a phone number to give to someone; and I'm old, so don't laugh at me! GMail's contacts formats them all with a dash, but I can't find a way to make the Hero do so.

HTC Hero :: Uninstall Root And Rom - Video Playback Formatting

Jun 13, 2010

I am new here and have not yet an android, as such, I have have a phew questions (actually quite a phew) so as to help me decide whether or not to purchase one. All help will be greatly appreciated. By the way this is all in regards to the hero, okay I'll get into it. 1. Okay the first is concerning to rooting and ROMs, as you all know the hero is well known for all its problems and hiccups (as evident by all the Qs on this forum regarding hero), e.g screen glitches and flickers, key board fails to register, no video play back on certain formats, problems with the social websites sync, computer sync issues, downloading apps, list keeps on going (see forum threads). My question is, if I were to root and get a custom ROM this would void my warranty which would be a problem if any any of the problems above (which are likely) were to occur, so what I want to know is if I root and do the ROM, is there any way I can 'uninstall' so to speak so as to not void my warranty? 2. I run a mac so will this pose any complications regarding syncing, or loading music etc? 3. I hear many problems in regards to the video playback formatting, I am unclear as to what this implies, does this refer to loading videos from your computer to the device? i just want to confirm that these problems do not refer to playback of videos that were actually taken with the phone.....

Android :: Notes App With Formatting?

Was wondering anyone knew of a simple note app that allows formatting?? I have Docs to Go which is a full-service Word format viewer/editor which has tons of formatting options, however (if anyone has noticed) the UI is horribly tedious.I'm just looking for a simple note problem where I can bold some entries and leave others plain text. Suggestions regarding the use of "tags" or other methods of labeling isn't what I am looking for. Just want the ability to format some text within a note as bold and leave other text normal.I have tried the following apps, NONE of which, as far as I can tell, have the formatting options that I am looking for:

General :: Phone Number Formatting

Apr 6, 2012

How to change my number format from the american xxx-xxx-xxx to my country's (Argentina) format. MoreLocale 2. That's exactly what I wanted!!!" Except that's now what I am looking for. There are plenty of websites that tell you to write these numbers down in my google contacts with that format, except that's not what I'm looking for.:

MoreLocale 2 changes the standard American formatting xxx-xxx-xxx to xxxxxxxxx when I select Argentina which is NO FORMATTING once so ever. Even Brazil and Chile and Uruguay, which have the same format gives the same result.

I want my numbers to be formatted xxxx-xxxx. Any way (even manual system file editing) that will allow me to have all numbers entered into a dialer formatted xxxx-xxxx-xxxx.I've lost hours online and all I can find is people praising MoreLocale2 for removing the dashes.. I don't want them removed, I want to change the PLACES where these dashes go...

Android :: Include Tag And Text - Common Formatting

Apr 15, 2010

I'm trying to use some common formatting for a number of different labels, all with different text. From http://android-developers.blogspot.com/2009/02/android-layout-tricks-, it seems as though I should be able to do something like the following:
<include android:text="@string/description" layout="@layout/label"/>

Where, in label.xml, I have:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<TextView xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
<!-- more detailed formatting to come later --> />

For some reason, the text of the label is showing up empty when I do this. But I can successfully add an ID in this fashion, and then change the text of the label in my application code. For example:
<include android:id="@+id/description_label" layout="@layout/label"/>
