I have a Nexus 4 with 4.4.2 ad would like to sync my work exchange mail, calendar and contacts with my phone.
The issue is that my work has Mobile Iron installed
What is the best way to bypass this and have all items mentioned above sync'd? It is important for me to have the exchange contacts in my native contact file on phone.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI set up my ActiveSync account and it pulled in all the email, calendar, contacts, etc...but instead of just pulling in the actual contacts I have entered in my account, it's pulled in those plus the email addresses of everyone who has ever emailed me. Is there any way to filter those out?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just got a Motorola Moto X with Android 4.4. I set up my work's Exchange Server account on my phone and it syncs email correctly. However, most calendar events are missing. The calendar events that do appear on my phone begin to duplicate every time the phone syncs to the server. These duplicates do not appear when I access my calendar online or on my laptop.
The only trend I see is that any event added after I got my new phone will sync and then duplicate. Older events either do not sync at all, or do sync but then don't duplicate.
Touchdown does work correctly, but I also use Google Calendar so I need all my events to be access by the Android's native calendar application, so Touchdown is not the solution for me.
I have already done the following with no success:
1. Deleted and re-created the Exchange account on my phone.
2. Logged into the web interface for my work's owa server and deleted extra devices/phones configured to sync to the server (based on this thread: Duplicate email/calendar/contacts for Exchange ... | T-Mobile Support)
3. I have already cleared data and caches in my calendar apps, then re-synced.
It's a massive bummer for a scheduling bug like me not to have access to a reliable calendar.

I have recently updated to KitKat 4.4.2. Now my phone isnt able to connect to my mobile data network. Internet access is only possible on WiFi now.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm a soldier stationed in Afghanistan and I received an INC in the mail today that I ordered a week ago. Charged the battery, powered it on and discovered that it requires service activation in order to use it. I ordered it to use the WI FI capability here until I reactivate my Verizon service when I get home this fall.
I have read several threads in different forums discussing procedures to bypass the activation screen and I've tried them all. Tapping the corners in a clockwise motion or canceling the (*228) activation call and rebooting 3 times. I even contacted Verison and HTC technical support and they couldn't figure it out either. They think it's because I have no cell phone service here so cancelling the activation call method doesn't work.
Does anyone know how to bypass the activation screen from the ##778 command on the emergency dialer. I have read where it's possible to bypass using the A-KEY command.
I dont have a verizon sim card anymore since we switched to AT&T, and i was wondering since i reset my phone is there anyway i can bypass the activation since i dont have a verizon sim card? I just want to use the phone like one would use an ipod.

I want my phone to be normally protected by a pincode but I'd like to disable it when my phone is locked and I press the camera key to take a quick picture.

But it seems that tasker doesn't get that I press camera key even if I modify my camera & focus key declaration to wake in my system/usr/keylayout folder

I want to know if I turn off the "Data while Roaming" feature and put my phone into Airplane mode will I still be charged if I check my email and surf the web only when connected to a WiFI network. I am getting mixed responses from customer service whether or not I can bypass international roaming charges by doing this. I'm pretty sure I won't be charged when using my phone over wifi but I just wanted to make sure.

Issue: Switch on tethering OR mobile hotspot ->mobile network dies
I've installed Froyo on a T-Mobile branded Desire. After the update, turning on USB tethering leads to immediate loss of mobile network - it just turns itself off. Same goes for the mobile Wifi hotspot: turn on -> for 2 seconds, it's working -> mobile network drops off. Moving into airplane mode and back brings back the network, but tethering is a goner. With 2.1, USB tethering had worked. I'm on Base, a brand of e-plus. I've talked to their customer services, they say Base absolutely supports tethering.
Is this something I have to deal with or is there a setting I'm missing somewhere? Same thing w/ the calendar reminders. I have dismissed them on my phone but they still come up in outlook when I get home.

View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently I logged into GMail with my browser instead of the GMail app, and discovered what I've read before elsewhere... that the GMail mobile web page seems cooler and better, than the app.
So, I've been thinking... which is better? Is either better? Can they both be equally good?
Either way, it occurred to me, it's interesting that all the Android blogs fall all over themselves almost weekly to come out with various "Best X Android Apps" articles, but I don't think I've seen any articles about the best mobile web pages for Android (or any smart phone for that matter).
I understand the money is to be made in apps, and that not much can (yet) be done with the web that you can do with an app (until we have workable Flash?) but surely there must be some great mobile sites out there that are better than, or equal to, apps?
I'm appealing to all of you then to make your suggestions for Best or at least good mobile web pages to use on our Android phones. I'll be looking around myself, and will possibly turn the results into a blog post of my own.
Here are a couple of starters that seem to be better than the app versions:
- Gmail: nicer interface, quick access to GTalk and Buzz as well as Calender, etc.
- Evernote: www.evernote.com/m Evernote has a really good mobile web site in case you don't want to download the app.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to find a way of quickly switching off/on the Mobile Network setting from the home screen. When searching Google there's loads of pages stating that it is an HTC Widget that can be added. I have checked all the widgets on the Desire HD and cannot seem to find it anywhere. I am using an unbranded handset.
The Desire HD manual even states "You can also add widgets that allow you to quickly switch on or off certain settings of your phone, such as Wi-Fi, Mobile Network...".
Does anyone else with an HD handset have this widget ?
Has anyone else tried this? Thought I'd add sky sports bundle. First try just said payment pending. Phoned T-Mobile, woman asked technical and came back to say it wasn't supported anymore and I couldn't get it. However, just tried now and its working but only on 3g and not WiFi.Thinking it's because my broadband WiFi is blocking access as it is o2.
View 6 Replies View RelatedNow that in 4.4 you can use any SMS app, although hangouts will be default, I'm curious what are seen as the best SMS app alternatives out there? I've only really used the stock messenger on the N4 and use Hangouts for video mainly. If hangouts isn't the best SMS client, which should I look at. I've seen GoSms, Handcent, etc as popular alternatives in the play store.
