Jelly Bean :: Cracked Phone - Finding App To Resize Screen
Nov 17, 2013My screen fell on a hard concrete floor and cracked, but i felt lucky because i thought its just the bottom 1/10th part of the phone broke.. Its a Nexus 4 I cant press the Back, Home, and the switch app soft buttons and also i cant press probably a few other pixels (I cant type SMS because i cant click on the bottom row and so keyboard wont appear).I think there should be some setting somewhere to fool around android to say that my screen size = 9/10th of the current screen size (the bottom 1/10th of the screen should be blank.) If there is any such app or any setting in any custom ROM. Tried google, cant seem to find the proper keywords.

Nov 18, 2013Since I updated my Samsung S4 to 4.3 I can't find a lot of contacts in the texting module. This is what happens: open screen for new text message, click in the receivers line, start typing. A lot comes up but most contacts with mobile numbers are missing. A lot of other useless records come up (e-mail addresses, LinkedIn, etc.).
Is this a setting? A bug? If so, is there a work around?
Jelly Bean :: Previously Downloaded Files Keep Trying To Download After 4.3 Update On GS3
Dec 27, 2013I recently purchased a Galaxy S3, that was completely factory reset with JB 4.1.2.
I downloaded a couple of .jpg files to use as backgrounds, but then decided not to use them - but left them on the device (not in the original download location however)
A couple days ago I received the 4.3 update from AT&T, which seemed to go off without a hitch. But now, the 3 files I downloaded seem to continue to download. - at least I get a notification that the files are downloaded (3 different notifications).
I deleted the files to see if that would stop it - no luck.
I went to Chrome and closed all the tabs (a couple were still open to the location I downloaded them from) - no luck.
When I get the notifications, if I click on it, it says it can't find the file.If I just clear it off, they come back a few hours later.

"Android System" is using 91% battery. I've disabled location services, backup and so forth, but the problem persists. I've tried flashing various ROMs, including stock sense, stock GE and Android Revolution HD 21. The problem is there with all of them.

Jan 30, 2014I rooted my 4.2.2 jellybean Android phone and using the Root Explorer app, I transferred all my system apps to my Sd card hoping to increase my phone's internal memory. After doing that, my phone rebooted and all the phone's system apps were gone!!!!!.. like the calendar, launcher, browser, dialer, contacts, File explorer and everything else.. Now using mc pc, I was able to download a few system apps like browser.apk and tried re installing it on my phone but it won't. . .THe error was "App not installed".. I think the reason was because I have also transferred the "downloader.apk something" into my sd card that's why I was unable to download apps now.

As soon as you hit the "Ok" button, the message comes back. Waiting to hear back from customer service if I should sent it back to them or manufacturer. I know there is a service mode of Android, but cant seem to find the right keys to hold down on power-up.

I can open playlists and play music. The problem is only with the library, and it only started about half a year after I got it. Nov 24, 2013I've come to the conclusion, after trying several different file managers, music players and playlist organisers, that it simply isn't possible to choose the order in which music will be played. I have two folders of mp3 files, both of which contain track numbers on every file, but, when I try to create a playlist, it just ignores the track numbers and plays the files in alphabetical order. I have read several files explaining how to edit the order of a playlist all of which refer to options which don't exist on my phone.
It's running android 4.1.1
This seems such a basic requirement for a music player that it seems impossible that it's been overlooked and yet that seems to be the case.

I tried to wipe cache partition , to wipe dalvik cache, to flash the same rom, to flash another rom, to delete all data... but nothin happens.. it seems like the recovery (CWM) can't delete anything! if i delete or format anything , nothing happens! but the recovery told me that the process has succedeed.. Jelly Bean :: ISyncr And Google Play Music - Latest Playlist Missing?
Oct 7, 2013I've been using iSyncr for a few months now and overall it's pretty good. I was using it with Rocket Player, but didn't care for that player much, so I am just using the google music app for now.
The problem: All playlists sync, except for the most recent. So if I have playlists 1-5, with 5 being what I just created in iTunes and sync'd, play music will only show 1-4. Whenever I move on and create #6, then #5 will show up but 6 will be missing.. and so on.
I need to either figure out why, or find an alternative music player that doesn't have this problem and works with the iSyncr process/playlists. Rocket Player did not, but had some other things that I didn't like.

Oct 6, 2013on my Nexus 7 (Android 4.3). Via the reading history of my pdf reader (Moon+ reader) I can see that at least one file is still present in the cache under the following folder address:

How can I access this folder? When accessing the device via the Android File Transfer sofware for Mac, I don't see this folder. I have access to Android/data/com.google.android.apps.docs/files, but this folder contains no files but only another folder (called "pinned_doc_files_not_for_edit") which is also empty.
The lost pdf is still there, I can open it in the reader via the reading history, but I would like to access the folder to see whether other lost files (which are not in the reading history) are also still present. To be clear, the file which I can open is also not detected when searching the device for pdfs.
