I recently bought a Nexus 4 running Jelly Bean 4.3, as many of you know it comes with Chrome as the main browser. I was able to receive website URLs from other NFC capable devices and they would open on Chrome as expected.
I then installed Firefox and now when I receive a URL through NFC they are opening on Firefox and not Chrome. I've looked everywhere to find a way to specify that it should use Chrome and not Firefox but can't find it. As I said, this is just after I installed Firefox, it didn't prompt me to choose which browser to use so it's not that I accidentally say always use Firefox for that action. If I go Settings -> Apps -> Firefox, under 'Launch by Default' there's nothing set.
This happens in a long email...You cannot scroll to the send buttons.

I have come across a problem that I am unable to solve. It happened several days ago and firstly I didn't paid much attention to it however after another few days it became very frustrating. On my Android 4.3, chrome seems unable to synchronize bookmarks with it's desktop version. I don't remember if it was caused by android update (about a week ago; I think from 4.1.2 to 4.3). I tried to restart the phone, I updated chrome to its last version and as a last resort I deleted my google account from the phone and added it back. However after this procedure I no longer see an option to synchronize chrome in settings (it was there before I deleted/added the account). There are several totally unsusable options but the one that makes any sense is not there.

It's nothing crazy or illegitimate, it's my school's site... it just makes it difficult when I want to download pdf files or word documents to work on the go. Any remedy at all aside from downloading on my computer and saving to Google drive?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got a new AT&T Radiant (aka ZTE Z740). I had it for a few days while I waited for a SIM card to come in the mail, installed one app, and just got a feel for how it worked on wifi. (I've never had an Android or any smart phone before). Last night after activating the phone and setting up the data connection with Consumer Cellular, I noticed that the Chrome browser icon was missing from the app tray. I don't know exactly when that happened, but it was possibly related to the data setup process.
I've searched Google and the forums here and haven't come up with a solution. I've seen suggestions for unhiding icons, but I don't seem to have the option to hide/unhide icons, or at least I'm not finding it (if I hit the menu button from the app drawer, I just get 'manage apps' and 'system settings').
I also a suggestion to look at the disabled apps list, but the 'manage apps' function doesn't indicate that Chrome is disabled. It is still there - I don't think it can be uninstalled.
I'm not sure what else to do. Is factory reset the next step? Not looking forward to setting up the data connection again (I guess I would need to go through all the settings and write them down, unless there is a way to back them up).
i have a galaxy note 3 since a few days and I have some questions regarding this device or Android in general.
First, I am wondering about how to change the download folder of the chrome browser. I can't find the option to change it.
Second, I'm a bit confused about two sd cards shown in my "es datei explorer". There is a "sd card" and a "extsd card" which I suppose to be the real card. What's the first one?
After my phone froze, I just got it back from repairs. NOTHING works anymore. All apps, messages etc. gone. That would all have been alright, if it wasn't for the inability to reinstall apps, re-configure mail, facebook and bank. Running Android 4.1.2 btw
PROBLEMS
- can no longer choose to login to a Google account - that option simply doesn't appear in "accounts"
- Clicking tabs: Google drive, google +, Gmail, Play store, maps, causes rhe program to flash open and close instantly. Many videos showing this particular thing.
FIXES, TRIED AND FAILED
.:: Play store and downloads: Tried stopping app and clearing data - cache wasn't an option, since nothing had been used.
.:: Was able to update "play store", dont remember the exact version, with the newest file found on Android Police. Installed. Didn't work.
.:: Resetting: Went back to factory settings twice. Also tried a hard reboot.
.:: Any install/download button I click is non-responsive, by the way.
.:: Managed to get chrome working (still unable to sign into account via that), and downloaded that update from Android police
I have the Chrome bookmarks widget on my homescreen, and the first spot is taken up by the "Mobile Bookmarks" folder (see screenshot). This is really annoying. When I first started using the widget, this was not the case, after a while it just appeared there.
Anyway to avoid this? Maybe even a way to change the order of the bookmarks?
If not, is there any way to remove the "Mobile bookmarks", "Desktop bookmarks" and "Other bookmarks" folders in Chrome so I could just have my bookmarks in one place?

I've tried GoSMS Pro, Textra, Handcent, Hangouts,... nothing else will send an MMS. It tries, and then just switches over to retrying until I force quite the app, or send another regular, text only message.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using Profile Scheduler +, and have set the default ringtone to the stock SMS app to specific sound (Sound 02) since it only works for stock apps and not 3rd party ones.
In GoSMS, I get dual notifications. When I select the setting (Disable Other Message Notification), I don't get dual notifications on the notification bar and Sound 02 does not play.
how to get rid of the dual notification but may it use Sound 02 as the default? I have Sound 01 used the default notification for emails, etc.
I updated my phone (GS3) two days ago and after I did I have 4 "download complete" notifications that won't go away. Even after clearing them they come back. The files cannot even be located on my phone anywhere. I downloaded these ages ago through Chrome.
