HTC :: All EVO 4G Wallpaper Thread
May 15, 2010Since we have a small wait ahead of us for the EVO to hit shelves. I thought it would be a good idea to share some wallpapers with each other. We know the phone's specs, resolution and know what to expect for the most part so why not get ready for the big launch day with some potential wallpapers to use. I'll start it off in my following post with some that I borrowed from the Incredible forum. Just a note: It seems the best resolution to use for the EVO would be 960x800. Please post that size. If you find something that would make a great wallpaper and you'd like to share it, maybe crop the selection to that size or resize it. There is a way to post the pictures as thumbs but I really don't know it. If anyone is willing to share that, I'd resize it even small. Let's try and keep it as easy for people to share as possible. Now to the selection!

May 14, 2010I downloaded pictures off the internet and tried to set them as my background, and it says "This picture has been set as wallpaper" But its just the default wallpaper. So then I tried the Bar code scanner wallpapers and Android themes.com and same thing!

Jul 15, 2010New here to the forums (former Palm Pre user). I just picked up my EVO the other day and would like to share some of my wallpapers I've made.I'm work as an Art Director/Graphic Designer for an Advertising company in SoCal, as well as own my own design company, R-KIVE Studios. I design in multiple software applications including; Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Maya, 3DStudio, and many more.All uploaded wallpapers will be 960x800 and saved in an optimized format to keep file sizes low, but also keep the best looking image possible.I will also be taking requests. One warning, they could take a while, as I am quite busy between my day job and my own company. I will do my best to fulfill them in a timely manner though.I have made a Photoshop Template (960x800 PSD) with layers and grid layout, including all launch bars for every page. I have made a folder called YOUR ART HERE that you should put all of your wallpapers in. Be sure to turn off all layers above so that it only saves the wallpaper and not the template.

May 3, 2010I have my incredible set to use the live wallpaper "water". When I turn the phone off to charge at the end of the day, upon restart it defaults to the htc colors wallpaper.Is there something I'm doing wrong, is there a setting I'missed to retain the "water" live wallpaper after restart, or is this just normal behavior?

General :: Audit Of Root Exploits And Unofficial Bootloaders
Aug 4, 2013This is a general question that should be in everyone's mind who might want to root a phone or tablet or any Android or other mobile OS device:
Is this root exploit or bootloader going to be spyware and collect any and all data of mine (login credentials, keylog my every character, account/bank numbers, identity information, use your evil imagination)?
So, I searched this forum for key words like "trust root" "secure root" "security" and found nothing related to this topic.
So, how am I to trust ANY of the root exploits or bootloaders created and posted to this forum for ANY device?
Have any of the developers developed an audit process using firewall rules to ensure that a posted root exploit or bootloader does not attempt to keylog, report captured information to some obscure IP address (thief/hacker's machine of course)?
Do any of these root exploits or bootloaders or custom unofficial builds of entire android (like Cyanogenmod and the 3rd party variants) get Security Audited?
How am I to believe that the whole lot of you making the root exploits and bootloaders are not a big community of identity thieves and financial fraudsters?
Am I just supposed to trust you?

I'm just going crazy reading a new thread every 5 minutes of someone discovering a new issue with their X after installing a leaked and of course UNOFFICIAL build of Froyo. I mean you've already been warned of the potential problems and risks you might face with installing the leaked build; so why take the chance of potentially bricking your phone? Either way, maybe the mods can create a separate Froyo sub-forum for the time being, until we finally see an official release.

Android : Handle Messages Between The Main Thread(the Deafult UI Related Thread) And The User Created Gamethread
May 21, 2009I am writing an application in which i need to handle messages between the main thread(the deafult UI related thread) and the user created Gamethread.
The requirement is like this.
An activity(say "Activity_X") is setting the view by "setContentView(some "View_Y")". In "Activity_X" i have implemeted "onCreateOptionsMenu()" and "onOptionsItemSelected()" fucntions for creating menus & a switch case for action to be taken on selecting those menus.Menu has items like "resume/pause/zoom/" .
All action to be take on selecting these menus are implemented in "View_Y" in a separate Gamethread by extending "Thread" class.
So whenever a menu is selected in "Activity_X" i need to send a message to "View_Y". And on receiving this ,a particular action/method should be called in View_Y(GameThread).
How can i achieve this using Handlers?Is there any other way of doing this? Please do share with me some code snippets for these.

I had very specific reasoning for posting that, even if many thought it might have been redundant. I wanted to post a poll to get a rough idea out of all of the posters aching for Froyo, who wanted it for bug fixes, and who wanted it for other reasons such as new features, etc. That is a specific purpose, and is not redundant.
