Anyone had any issues with their magic and vista?
Whenever I connect mine it and mount the SD card I get an error: PLease insert a disc into the drive.
Any ideas if this is a faulty card / device or incompatability issue?

Seems to be another Vista and sync problem: Laptop will recognise Desire in "Disc Drive" mode, but not in "Sync" mode. No response from the lappy and error flung up on the Desire ""Unable to find HTC sync on your PC ...etc"
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm working my way through Technica's vids, but I'm stuck at the part where I'm supposed to paste the root "package" on my sd card. My phone is recognized in My Computer as Removable Disc F:, but every time I click on it I get a pop up with "Please insert a disk into Removable Disk F:." I've restarted my phone with no luck.

Worse, it goes to disc drive mode even when I charge using the wall charger, which means I can't access anything from my SD card when I charging my phone through the wall charger or my car charger.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI go to plug my phone into my computer and mount it and then I get a message on my computer asking do I want to scan the driver, When I click yes it does nothing, and then When I go to my computer to click my Hero Vista wont let me it says please insert a disk. If I click Continue without scanning I am able to get into the Hero. Whats going on here?

I created a method and keep getting an error that I need to include a } at the end of my method. I put the } in and the error is still there! If I then delete that } the same error will pop up on a prior method; and that error wasn't there before. in other words, if i type the } on my most recent method then the error stays there and only there. if i delete it, it duplicates that error on my prior method.

In Android is it possible to insert a sqlite timestamp into a database using ContentValues?
When I try to add it using something like

I just downloaded htc sync for my htc magic n its detecting my phone on PC. i prompted via phone to sync, but still on phone it has check whether htc sync is installed on pc or not.

It started when iMusic told me i was out of space, on a 4gig SD card when i had mayb 5 songs on the phone!
So i went to my astro manager file manager to delete some files just to see. i keep getting "error deleting files" on anything i try to delte, ive taken the card out rebooted etc etc.
It makes me think the card may be locked? as its not even letting me save anything to it now.
Should i just root the dang thing to avoid problems like this?
I can delete files by going into the generic "music" app and long touching the song and selecting delete.
I've bought a HTC Magic, and when I setup the exchange account of my company it give the error "Failed to create the account. Please try again later".Has I don't have solution for it I need an application to sync Exchange e-mail, can anyone tell me the better free application to install.

I just think it's simply awesome and I really digg it, but so far I haven't found any players on market yet, I've tried Meridian and etc, and they're all good but simply don't have this function.
I just got my N1 car dock and i want to put it on my dashboard. Problem is its not smooth enough for the suction - so i "need" to use the included adhesive pad/disc to properly secure it..
I'm worried about this because: It's a brand new EVO that i paid a lot for - i do not want to mess up my dash.. So:
1) Is the adhesive disc removable?
2) Can it be removed and not leave and residue?
3) If it does leave residue can it be removed easy?
4) What is the possibility of it stripping off any paint on the dash?

View 1 Replies View RelatedUntil two days ago, my magic connected to my home wifi fine. Suddenly, it stopped connecting. It does show the wifi icon as if it IS connected, but whenever I open up the browser, or the market, or meebo etc. it acts as if it's not online. The market, for example, tells me that "A network error has occurred."Curiously, I do still get gmail notifications (I don't think that happened through my provider today, cause I'm on pay-as-you-go and all out of cash). My router is an awful BThomehub 2.0 which I can't change for a number of stupid reasons. I tried changing the channel on the router but no luck. Whenever I try to connect through using WeFi Connect, it tells me that it can't verify the connection. The only two apps I have which can fiddle with the wifi settings are the wifi on/off gadget and the aforementioned WeFi Connect, both of which I had when my wifi was still functional. Once again, I did not change any settings at all either on the router or the magic when my wifi stopped working properly.

Sadly, the Android Market in Canada does not have any paid apps. I was just wondering is there any way I can put themes onto my phone? I find that it really sucks that I can't use any of the dxtop themes or openhome themes in the market unless I actually have the app itself (which I cannot purchase).
View 3 Replies View Relatednew to this site as never had any problems with my magic till today, my 2 year old to my horror threw it against the wall and the battery etc fell out, Fortunatly when i examined it there was no damage screen wasnt cracked or damaged or anything, however since ive turned it back on theres safe mode in transparetn writing at the bottom left of the screen and the touch screen doesnt work and every time i go into a process such as say contacts , i get the 'the process android.process.acore has stopped please try again everything works like i say i can go online but obviously without the use of the touch screen i cant type, nor can i send texts due to the lack of touchscreen so what can i do HELP PLEASE Or do i have to face facts and get in touch with my insurance ?

For people that made the switch. Do you honestly like it better? I don't care if it doesn't blow the iPhone out of the water I just want somethin onpar with the iPhone. Just better will I be satisfied with the magic if I make the switch to android or should I wait for a G4 or something? I can't get the hero cause non currently or ever will support my art carrier. So I am planning to go with an Rogers htc magic.

I was wondering if anybody docks their Magic (or similar) to one of those thing-a-ma-bobs that holds it between two speakers? They're generally made for iPods but hold other players as well.Because of the wee USB port, I have bought a little adaptor so now I've got 3.5mm jack, but I don't know how well that would dock.
I just want something cheap so I can set it on the kitchen counter whilst making dinner and washing up. I don't even necessarily need it to be at a good angle, so I could just buy a cheapie pair of stereo speakers, but thought something small and compact would be more convenient if I want to move things around to different rooms.I went ahead and bought something verrah verrah cheap off Amazon. I'm not looking for a Carnegie Hall experience, so cheap oughta do the trick. But, would still like to hear about your gadget if you want to talk about it.
It doesn't do anything, I have the phone turned on, the sync software running and I plug the USB cable in, a "found new hardware" screen pops up, I click Locate and install drivers but it can't find any!
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is winding me up. When i first got the phone I could only get it to work with the HTC Sync that was on the memory stick a i mounted the sd card. Today due to problems I have rested the phone to factory default AND installed a clean version of window vista home premium 32bit edition. I connected the htc to windows and nothing happened!! No notifications or anything, so i downloaded the latest HTC Sync and installed it, connected the phone and nothing happened. I want to get photos off the phone but can't at the moment.
