HTC Legend :: Downgrade Legend To Previous Software Version After 1.32.xxx.x Update?
Jun 5, 2010I just updated my Legend, it said it was to do with the camera. It's now version 1.32.161.4 and the root guide at 24/May r4 - HTC Legend rooting guide - Now with 1.31.x - Android @ MoDaCo says 1.31 and below is there any way to downgrade the Legend to what it was before? I think it was 1.21 or 1.23 not sure.

Aug 3, 2010Cracked the screen! It only fell from my lap onto the centre console of the car, I have made it noticeable in the photo but you can hardly see it when the backlight is on. I will fix it soon, but I'll need a detailed guide on how to do it, I have seen some forums on how to do it but it doesn't seem that easy. May 16, 2010I am pleased with the Legend, but at times things come up that confuse me somewhat. Recently a friend and I were taking photos and I thought it would be interesting to compare camera quality of her BB Curve 8900 with my HTC Legend. Below are the photos.

Is it just me or is something wrong here? (Forgive me naivety!) Also, could it be that I need to fine tune some settings or something? I hope somehow I can improve these shots.. the Legend's assumed superior camera was one of its main attractive characteristics for me!

I wanted to pair it with my new Legend, but for some reason when I press Scan for devices in the Bluetooth setup, my PC shows up, my neighbor's Nokia shows up, but the headset never appears. I thought that Bluetooth devices were pretty universal; shouldn't my Legend see this headset and pair with it without problem?

Jun 2, 2010On every phone i have had for many years now, pushing any of the buttons whilst the phone's screen is off activates the screen briefly (usually just showing the clock or prompting for the screen unlock). This is both useful for ensuring the phone is switched on but is just as useful for ensuring the phone is switched off (night, meetings, flights, cinema etc).
The only way of activating the screen to check the Legend's on/off status appears to be to push the power button. However, if the phone is off, this simply switches the phone on! This strikes me as being a completely daft design decision.
So, is there any way of checking that a Legend is off without switching it on and then off again?
(Yes, i know there are silent, flight safe, meeting and other modes...)
HTC EVO 4G :: Constantly Charging Evo Throughout Day
Jun 24, 2010I am getting 9-10 hours off a nightly charge on my Evo.This isn't lasting me the whole day and I usually run out of juice on the drive home from work.I've tried all the battery tricks to get longer time but no luck. I think the reason for the battery drain is because at work, I only receive 1-2 bars on the 3G network. When I step outside, I go to 4-5 bars.I am blaming the battery drain more on my location rather than the phone, which is OK.Anyways, I have the luxury of sitting in front of a laptop all day.This means I can constantly charge my Evo all day through the USB port. Would this have any bad effect on the battery?This means taking the phone on and off the charge throughout the day. If I leave my desk for 10-15 minutes, I'm unplugging the Evo and taking it with me. This could happen 5-10 times a day.Or is it better just to do a charge 1-2 hours before I leave work to make sure it will last the remainder of the evening?

Sep 27, 2010is there a way to tell what app is using the GPS? My phone's gps is constantly on even when google maps, camera app, etc isn't turned on. I'm curious what app is using it.I know i can manually turn off gps but i rather leave it on as it hasn't been affecting battery life too much so far but now the gps icon is on very frequently in the top bar.

Oct 19, 2009Recently my g1 has started using 3G or GPRS almost constantly, like its auto checking e-mails or somthing.If i disable the 3G option it uses GPRS insted.I have reset the g1 to factory defauts, only APNdroid and ToggleWIFI installed, but it still keeps doing it.(APNdroid was installed so i could turn off ALL 3G/EDGE/GPRS connections)This is slowing down my connection when i do use GPRS/3G/EDGE.Why is this happening ??? and how can i stop it, without using APNdroid?This is a T-Mobile G1, using firmware version 1.5, build number CRC37

Jun 11, 2010HTC Sense is crashing constantly on my EVO. It happens so much the phone is unusable. Multiple reboots do nothing to fix it.I had a couple of 3rd party widgets installed (Gmail count, and SMS count) so I uninstalled them.Now I only have the Clock/Weather widget that came with the phone on the home screen and Sense just keeps crashing. Force close, after force close, after force close.I will have to hard reset if I can't find a solution.I've changed scenes to one of the stock scenes (HTC or Sprint) and it's still crashing.I boot up, swipe back and forth between panels, crash!

Aug 21, 2010Ever since the 2.2 update, or downgrade as I now call it, my phone has been freezing nonstop. I have no clue what's going on. I have very few apps. The only reason I got this phone was because I'd thought it would be better than my old Samsung Instinct, which also constantly experienced freezes.
Here's an in depth look:
Press top button, slide down to unlock but no response.
Home screen, will not respond to touch.
Placing a call to someone, and before they answer, another call will come in completely freezing my phone, hard reset required.
The only reason I switched from the instinct is because I was sick of the freezes. And this phone hadn't done it before the update. Now, since my 30 day return is over, and the update came after the 30 grace period, I'm stuck with this POS phone.
Do you guys have any clue about this?
If not, looks like I'm switching from sprint after my 12 year run with them.
Sprint HTC Hero :: Constantly Only 30MB Of Available RAM?
Oct 31, 2009How many MB's of RAM are you supposed to have on the Sprint HTC Hero? After a fresh reboot, my phone is at 62 MB of RAM. Then I use the phone for a couple of minutes (check my facebook, check email, check weather, and maybe send an SMS text) and I'm down to 30MB of RAM, which almost never goes back to anything close to 60's. Is this normal? I feel like no matter how many apps I manually close (minus the essential ones) I am still sitting and very low available memory (that is, if 30MB is supposed to be considered low).Anyone able to shed any light on this? What happened to Hero's 288MB of RAM?
